He put his arms up defensively to block the splash. "Um... I dunno." He noticed his eyes were getting blurry again, so he took his glasses out of his pocket and put them back on. "What was so funny, anyways?"
Rae shook her head and got out of the water. "Oh, nothing really. I just find humor in the tiniest things sometimes. Not when Moe was around, but Moe hadn't appeared in a while so Rae was fine.
"That's a good thing, you know." He stood there and watched her leave the water. "Laughter is quite healthy for you, sorrow isn't very good at all." He smiled. "You should try it more, you have a pretty smile."
Rae blushed and ducked her head. She then hurriedly sat down on the ground and begn putting her shoes back on so she wouldn't have to look at him. Mostly she was only blushing because she didn't take compliments very well, for no one had really given her any as she grew up.
"Did I say something wrong?" He began to walk out of the water with a confused look on his face. "It looked like your face got all red again, are you feeling alright?"
Rae sighed and met his gaze. "You did nothing wrong. Well, besides not being able to tell when you've embarrassed a girl. You really should learn to be able to tell when a person is blushing."
"Ohhh.. umm.." He rubbed the back of his head and began to laugh. "Heh yeah well.. you see.. the thing about that is, I can tell when you're blushing. Just.. I find it cute when girls blush so.. I sort of act stupid on purpose to see if I can get them to do it again... yeah?" It sounded stupid, but he was actually telling the truth.
"Eheh.. sorry? It seems like it is working, though. Besides, you splashed me earlier. I suppose that's payback enough." He crossed his arms and smiled in a "I-win" sort of way.
