Momoko shrugs. "Oldies, classics, same thing to a musician." I'm not an alcoholic, Ms. Hard To Get. she thinks, snarling in her head. She didn't want anything to do with people who didn't like lesbians. Hell, she should probably just leave now.

She walks through the cafeteria door, glancing around before heading up to one of the lines. "Everyone as bad nights. But that doesn't mean you should clam up." she mumbles while she pours a cup of coffee. Oh, I think this girl is hitting on me, why don't I make her feel terrible about herself? Tee hee, I'm so cool, Miss Hard To Get. she mimics a high pitched voice in her head. Maybe she was going too far, but whatever, it helped her blow off steam.

Alex cocked a eyebrow as she realized something she said apparently set Momoko off. What was it? The wine thing, she wondered, no it couldn’t be it’s just an analogy maybe she was misreading her. “Oh are you a musician?” Alex asked trying to at least appear to not be so stand offish but she was also legitimately curios. After all she certainly wasn’t playing that guitar like she knew how to.

She frowned as she picked up on Momoko thinking she was doing this on purpose, she wasn’t. At least not consciously. She had been pushing people away for so long now but it’s just become something of a habit. “NO I don’t think I’m so cool!” Alex blurted out before realizing she was replying to something Momoko thought not what she said. “Errr um… I mean…” Alex started staring rather intently at her feet blushing.

Momoko scowls. "Did I sound like a musician?" she sighs, and frowns. This girl is trying to make up for her early bitchy-ness. Whatever.

Momoko freezes in half step, turning to look at Alex, her mouth hanging open. "You can't fucking read my mi--" she stops, looking her up and down, then turning away and continuing to walk. Her shoulders slump. "Why would you..?" she stops Not tell me the entire truth? she starts to shrink, memories of that blond coming into her head. She's just like her, never telling me the whole truth.. She was cheating, and she knew.. That blond bitch. she reaches only five feet now, getting smaller bit by bit.

Alex winced at that reaction. That’s exactly why she didn’t tell anyone about her mind reading. This reaction right here it. The feeling of privacy being violated and trust betrayed all for something she couldn’t help.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you but I guess I felt it was best people just not know about my mind reading.” She said, her pleading eyes conveying all the emotion of the situation. “I can’t help but read your thoughts I can’t turn it off. And when someone knows they are being listened too they get all paranoid and shut out. I didn’t want that.” She said realizing the irony of her not wanting someone to keep her at arms length. Alex swore half the time she had no idea what she really wanted. Was it a girl thing or was she slowly going insane? And is there really a difference.

“Tell you what no more secrets.” She said trying to smothe things over. “If you want to know something I’ll tell you I’m an open book.” Yeah this probably wasn’t going to end well.

Momoko frowns. "You have a point, but still. You're still here, even though I'm into you?" she raises an eyebrow and looks her over again. "Then what's your life story, and the rest of your powers? I'm Momoko Yua, class thirteen, room seven. Straight Bs all through what schooling I ahd. Worked on a peach farm with my parents. My dad beat my mom, and beat me. People at school, boys, beat me up. I'm not into them at all. I think girls are sexy. And I had a girlfriend, but she had a girlfriend from America she neglected to mention to me until she was back in America. And so I got angry, and big, and started wrecking things. Then I told my mom I would fix it. So I stole money. Life got better for my mom, but I got stuck here."

She scowls. "There. No secrets. Your turn."

Damn, Alex cursed herself. When she said share she didn’t getting Momoko’s abridged life story. “Well born in Virginia. Father runs a Lobbying firm my mother is from Spain, and proud of it. Grew up in Virginia got good grades but spent summers with my mom’s family in Zaragoza. That was nice. My La Abuela was an amazing cook and my cousins. They were fun. Anyway childhood was pretty uneventful then I started showing signs of being a psychic my parents to me to a doctor that was suppose to cure me. He lied. Instead he kicked started my powers and that pretty much got me sent here. Annnnd….” She hesitated and cleared her throat how was she going to explain this without freaking her out. “I didn’t look like this before that.”

She glanced at her with a nervous grin, scratching the back of her head and shrugging.

Momoko nods. "Well, you seem to have a pretty interesting life." she watches Alex closely. "But it doesn't take a physic you're leaving out some bits. My mom was from Mongolia, my father from Japan. Never knew my grandparents. Quite fond of kimonos and geisha things." Momoko tries to tell more things about herself to force the confessions out of Alex. She left her mind open. Tell me your secrets since I've told you mine, Alex.

She watches Alex even more closely, stepping closer. "And don't leave anything out, because I've told you every detail I can think of.."

“Well….” Alex said as she wavered in her resolve to be completely honest. Every rational voice in her head was scream lie! Lie! Lie! There is no way Momoko would understand. She lost her cool over the mind reading thing how would she react to finding out Alex is involuntarily transgender? She doubted it would end well. She could just make something up, something embarrassing yet plausible sounding Momoko may buy that. Or she could go back to stonewalling either way chances of Momoko ever talking to her again would probably be zero either way.

“Well the so called cure for my psychicness had unintended side effects.” Alex said slowly and deliberately dancing around the truth. “I didn’t have these before.” She said point at her breast. “And I was much taller and… and…. and… a guy.” She finally said with all the built up tension of someone counting down to the end of the world.

Momoko smiles. "No pressure, take your time. There should be no secrets between loyal friends." she stresses the loyal part, hoping it would help Alex to see that she wouldn't care. Or would try not to.

And it may have worked, because out the secret came! A girl without boobs? As Momoko hears the rest, she blinks once. Then twice. Then she bursts into hopeless laughter. "Oh, you poor thing!" she hugs Alex. "A boy who got turned into a girl!" she tries to control the laughter, which quickly dies down as Momoko gets down to business. "Well, there are a few things you would know about pads and tampons and all that, plus how to count it.. We might as well share a dorm.." she nods. "I can teach you everything you need to know. You don't have to worry." she is her normal height again, and pats Alex's head. "Loyal friends, right? The mind reading thing was more of a shocker. Because, hey, we all have our problems. And that one was just a thing that happened. The mind reading was intentionally kept, but let's move on and grab food, then head for the dorms where your lessons will begin!"

She takes a deep breath after her long friendship speech. Whew! Thast was long and hard! Ha ha, that's what she said! she chuckles slightly.

Alex’s eyes bulged and she blushed as Momoko laughed at that little nugget of information. That was defiantly not the reaction she was expecting or desired. It was like Momoko was laughing at her dog getting run over by a eighteen wheeler, only seven hundred times worst. She was regretting now not lying. She could live with Momoko being angry at her for being a brick wall of personality. But this, this was like she thought Alex was some neat little toy now.

It took her a while to manage to overcome the humiliation to finally speak, “Ummm thanks but it has been more than eight months soo I’ve kind already learned through experience.” She looked away thinking for a minute before finally saying, “Yeah I already have a roommate at the moment. But who knows you can be lucky number six.”
