Momoko grins. "Alright. Let's see how good the food at this whacked-up school is." she holds the door open. "After you." she smiles politely. Politeness counts in the end. She waits patiently.

She seems nice enough. I wonder what she likes, in terms of gender. meh. Probably hot, sweating men. Ugh. Ever since they.. her thoughts lapse off and she smiles again. "Have any extra-ordinary powers, then?"

Alex gave the girl a polite grin as she walked through the door she held open for her. It felt weird being the one given the chivalrous treatment. But perhaps Momoko was just being polite. She shuddered as she picked up the girls wondering about her preferences. Should she tell her about her history, Alex wondered. No, she concluded, Momoko didn’t seem like the kind of person who would react well to that bit of information, or keep it a secret.

“I move objects with my mind.” Alex said before glancing back at her and adding, “Among other things.” She didn’t tell her she could read her minds. Alex figured that would just put her off considering what all she has been thinking.

Momoko smiles. She seems nervous. Am I trying to hard? she mentally droops. She hoped she wouldn't be the only lesbian in this school, but whatever. It wasn't too bad being alone for most of your life, right? That's not how you felt in Japan. Momoko winces and follows behind her friend. "I can grow tall, and short.. And change appearance," she mumbles, not feeling so great anymore, "And that's it." she finishes lamely.

As they walked down the hall, Momoko fiddles with her lip piercing and chew on her. She wasn't sure of herself, what to do, what to say. She felt terrible inside. Exactly how you felt in that small town of yours. she frowns, then puts on another, tighter smile. "Is the food good here?"

Alex nodded as Momoko explained her powers to her. She had figured that much out when she entered the room and had watched her shrink but it never hurt to have verbal confirmation. Alex wondered what the limits of her powers were; could she turn into anyone or anything? She then chuckled silently as her imagination began creating all sorts of scenarios and possible ways Momoko could use her powers. They were indeed very interesting.

She frowned for a second, hiding it behind a grin. Momoko was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Was it something she was doing? It was clear to Alex that Momoko was attracted to her, and it wasn’t the first time she had to deal with someone at this school being so physically drawn to her. There were a few boys who had been and she had always let them down rather bluntly and ignored them thereafter. But why was she so unwilling to do that with Momoko was it because she was a girl?

“Yeah it has good days and bad days.” Alex said as she glanced at her. “Don’t ever eat the Sloppy Joes though, I’m not sure the ingredients in those things are meant for human consumption.”

Momoko's smile wavers. When the conversation has turned to bad food, it's time to change the subject. "Well, what's your favorite color?" she asks, looking over at hr with her head tilted. Idle chat, for the win!

"I like green.." her hair streaks down with green highlights, lighting up her face, her tee changes to a summery green color. "You?"

She watched Momoko’s cloths and hair change. Where she that kind of girl, Alex would have found that kind of power extremely useful. Heck she could think of a dozen or so girls in the dorms that would kill to be able to change their hair color on command without having to spend a mint on products.

“Orange.” Alex finally said, “I’ve always liked orange.”

Momoko's green shirt suddenly gets a paint splatter of orange, and her flips flops become the same, bright color. Momoko laughs. "I've never had a passion for the color, but I adore the fruit. And peaches. I love peaches." she nods. "You?"

I hope I'm not getting nosy. What if I am? Will she just walk away? I don't want to be let own my first day here. No, Momo! Stop making such bad thoughts. Be optimistic. Maybe this girl will take pity-- but I don't WANT pity! What I want is a girl who is jstt like her.. Momoko gives a cracked smile as her head fills with images of that pretty blonde, always accepting her, always so nice.

She let's her mind go blank again as she walks, saddened by the short flow of memories she allowed out.

“Hmm,” She shrugged lightly stifling a giggle. The one part of her that was still a guy, her mind, found that question rather amusing. It was obvious to Alex what there was a bit of a double entendre behind that question. How was she going to answer it, she wondered. She could play dumb and answer it straight forward and pretend she has no idea what Momo was talking about. But if she had detected the hidden laughter then she would know Alex is playing dumb. And she didn’t want to offend her. Which is odd to Alex she usually didn’t care about that sort of thing.

“Oh I have a certain fondness for them.” She said with a wink. Might as well be honest with the girl Alex conclude. “Momo’s Japanese for peach isn’t it?” She asked as she searched her mind trying to remember where she heard that piece of trivia.

Momoko smiles. "Yes, indeed, my nickname does mean peach." I was hoping I could leave that fact behind in Japan.. Dammit! She laughs. "And I do love them. I eat one a day. Keeps my immune system running strong." she nods, her thoguhts flashing back to peaches. ~Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches with bananas, peaches with pudding, peaches with rice, peaches in the morning, peaches at night, peaches with ice and peaches with water, peaches, peaches!~ she laughs out loud at the little jingle her mother had taught her. She sobers. Send a letter every day, Okaa-san said. So she knows where I'll be.

Momoko shrugs the thought off, reminding herself to find her dorm, take pictures, and write that letter.

Alex hid her amusement at that as best she could. What an unfortunate nickname for someone to get stuck with. She remembered a boy she knew in elementary school that got pegged with the nickname Sweet Potato. That boy was probably still in therapy right now. Maybe that’s why I’m like this now, Alex wondered, this was all some divine punishment for finding that kids suffering so amusing as a little kid. That didn’t the instigator or ringleader of it or anything, just an amused bystander and it was ten years ago at that.

“Really? Alex said with a wry grin. “Well that’s a whole lot peaches to eat.” Alex said, finding the innuendo to funny to not keep going in her mind.
