"Well, peaches are fun to eat.. They're so fuzzy on the outside and sweet on the inside." Momoko grins. "Kinda like me?" Laaaame "Heh heh. I'm kidding." she shrugs. You know you're awful at making jokes. You should have known. Momoko manages a straight grin again.

It was very empty in the halls, not much going on, literally no one awake. "So what do they usually serve for breakfast here in this wonderful academy?" she stresses the adjective, wondering how great this place actually was.

It was a corny joke Alex knew that much but she still felt a little obligated to give it a small chuckle. Purely out of politeness of course.

“Right wonderful, just like the brochure said.” Alex mumbled as she walked down the hall. While Alex was become more tolerable for this place, she was no longer sketching catamarans that she could make out of wood from the forest, but still how could anyone think this place was wonderful when most of the student here were not here by choice and were stuck here to be forgotten.

“They serve the normal thing I guess.” Alex shrugged. “Bacon, eggs, waffles and things like that. It varies from day to day.”

"Brochure?" Momoko sighs. The conversation was taking a turn again. "Well, most kids here seem.. Alone. I wish we could change that. I mean, even if they were alone, they need to learn how to speak out. Y'know?" Momoko looks over to Alex.

"Waffles?" she looks confused. "In Japan, we usually eat rice. It's plain, but very filling." Especially working in those Japan schools. It's so laid back here. She wonders, looking out a window at the sun. She watched the dust filter through the air and kept glancing over at Alex. "Something wrong?"

She looks concerned. I wish this girl would let me in. I feel so shut out here.. Momoko frowns.

“Yeah,” Alex agreed half heartedly with Momoko. She wouldn’t mind if the students here would get out of the stupor they are in. If she actually said something about the funny feelings she was getting from the doctor she probably would not be a girl right now, and at home happy. And maybe if she just refused to come here she would be home right now. Yeah things would be tough right now but she wouldn’t be here, she would be at home with her family and maybe be able to deal with the mess she is in. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, Alex reminded herself she shouldn’t worry about those things they happen and she can’t change them now.

She shook her head, “No nothing’s wrong.” Except everything, she added non verbally. “What makes you think something’s wrong?” She asked putting on a warm smile hoping Momoko would think she was being less stand offish.

Momoko sighs. "Well, you seem so.. closed in. Like everyone else.. Wanna grab food and eat out on the lawn? I'm sure we can scrounge a blanket out of somewhere.." she laughs gleefully. This is going rather well.

Summer, summer, where night belongs to lust and lovers.. she hums to the words, Summer, summer, and I am here tow in you over, you will, be, mine.. this year. she laughs again. "Like any type of music?"

Alex simply shrugged. She couldn’t deny it she was being closed off. But really how honest could she with someone about her… condition. No way would Alex trust someone she just met with that kind of secret. That would be profoundly stupid she thought. “Sure,” Alex nodded. “Not a big fan of the cafeteria anyways.” Or at least the throngs of people inside it.

“Yup,” Alex said with a wide grin intentionally not answering the question. “What about you? You like any sort of music or you just into the Gregorian chant scene?”

Momoko looks confused. "The question.. It was left unanswered, Alex. And I like a bit of everything. Really, piano, jazz, japa-pop, American, classical.. Everything." she shrugs. I know so little about this girl.. Geez, what does she have to hide? I could probably tell her my life story before I knew where she came from. Momoko frowns deeply.

Girls like this make me wanna scream. You want to be friends, maybe more, but they're so damn intense with playing hard to get. Whatever. Momoko sighs.

Well her taste aren’t that bad, she thought. “Yeah I like a little bit of everything I guess.” Alex finally said knowing that she was upsetting the girl with her avoiding of the questions. Maybe being a little open won’t hurt anything. “But I got a certain fondness for classic rock. From like the fifties and sixties and seventies and what not and old war protest songs.” Maybe she just had a soft spot for songs about the unfairness of the world.

"Barracuda, huh?" Momo forces a laugh, now annoyed. "Well, that's cool. I'm into the modern stuff, maybe a bit of oldies here and there." she nods, and looks away out the window. It was so easy just to drift off. Her stomach growls loudly. "Are we close?" she bluntly asks with a yawn. She hadn't found her dorm yet.

Momoko was tired of all this hard-to-get stuff, so she just stopped talking completely. Serves her right, for treating me like any old somebody you'd see any day.

“They aren’t oldies.” Alex insisted, “They are classics. They only get better with age, like wine or something.”

“Yeah,” Alex nodded as she realized Momoko had clamed up because of her. Way to go, Alex scolded herself, nice job being unfriendly to someone who was only trying to be nice. “It’s just down this hall and to the left.” She sniffed the air, “I think its eggs and something else today.”

Sighing heavily decided she needed to apologies. “Sorry,” She gave the girl a legitimately warm smile again. “I’ve just had a long night.”
