Lynn walked around her dorm room rearranging some of the furniture so that she had enough space to practice.

The good thing about not having a roommate right now was the fact she could practice easily without bothering anyone as much in the dorm. She popped open one of the windows to let some fresh air in...and a few "extra friends
So other than a few butterflies and birds chilling around the room was relatively clean....except for a single pile of old books and music notes.

Lynn was a bit nervous about Kon coming over but was also happy at the sametime. She figured Kon could help her with coming up with a dance routine or something too since Kon was also on the cheerleading squad. Now all she had to do was wait.

Kon was extremely excited to see what Lynn had ready for him. Lately, he found himself interested in all types of magic, not just the shape-shifting variety. So it was no surprise that he had shown up to Lynn dorm right on time. As he knocked on the door, he let a giant smile arise on his face. The anticipation had gotten to him. He wanted to know what show he was in for.

Lynn swung opened the door once she heard the knocking and immediately greeted Kon with a friendly hug. "Kon friend, you made it! I was getting a bit nervous you wouldn't show." Lynn giggled and led Kon into their dorm and then closed the door behind them.

"So! This is my dorm...um.." There dorm was simple enough, just the same generic dorm design with nothing too fancy going on here. Just a lot of flowers chilling in pots and three birds sitting inside by the window.
"Oh! These three are Henry, Gravy, aaaand Talon!" Lynn said as she gestured to the birds.

"They are nice friends as well and will also be with me during the next show along with a lot more bird friends!"

Lynn was friendly. Very friendly. Konpeitō should have expected the hug, but he didn't. So with the idea of Lynn being friendly in mind, but sudden touching not, he managed to keep himself from instinctively moving out of the way or scratching Lynn. Instead, he tensed his body for a second before relaxing to return the hug.

Suspecting Lynn might think something was wrong, he quickly covered his brief discomfort with a friendly laugh. "I would never ditch you. I'd give you a notice if something came up."

Kon had, however, prepared himself to see some animals. He wasn't someone who had no control over his instincts, so while the birds made him think of food, he didn't see them as food.

"Hi Henry, Gravy, and Talon!" Kon greeted as he gave them all a few energetic waves. As he entered the dorm further, he looked around the room, admiring the flowers. "Your place is very pretty, Lynn."

Lynn felt Kon get a bit tense, of course. Was hugging too much? Were they hug friends yet? Oh Loki, did Lynn messed up? Well the hug lasted as quick as it could and Lynn backed off a bit to give Kon some space. "Oh well that is good, you are um...good." that came out rather awakwardly but it wasn't going to slow Lynn down anytime soon.

Lynn blushed a bit at the comment of their dorm room being pretty. "W-well I really like nature and I work at this café which sells a lot of plants and flowers too! I'm friends with the owners." Lynn said happily, they enjoyed all the flowers and plants she waa able to get from Mr. Henghai and Junchi.
"If um....you ever wanted to see me perform more you can also stoo by the café too!" Lynn skipped to the other side of the room to grab a card to hand to Kon. Was this how advertisement work? Are you proud now plant dad?

It was enough of that, it was now time to get serious here. Well as serious as practicing for a big musical festival can be.
"So um...For the festival I have a few ideas but I'm not sure on what I want to do yet."

Kon loved to catch his friends off guard with a compliment. While some people might have seen it as flirting, Kon considered it a great way to strengthen a friendship. Also, seeing their faces turn red and their voice start to stutter was funny.

It also led to Lynn giving a pretty appealing advertisement about a café she worked at. Kon gave the card a look over, then pocketed it in his bag. "A café with great entertainment? Sign me up! I've been meaning to visit more food places."

Now came the part Kon was really invited for: to help Lynn out with her practice. "I'm ready to hear them out."

Lynn smiled and twirled Fygg around in her hand once it was summoned to her.
"Well for starters I would have to play a song for me to get all the bird friends to gather...and well they are picky." Lynn glanced over to the three birds and stuck out their really long tongue at them. If it could just be any song that would have been easy but noo, they just had to go make it hard for Lynn.

"So currently I have to put pieces they like together and blend it into a song...sorta like a puzzel." Lynn snapped her fingers after she just totally came up with that comparision on spot.
"Though that's not the hard part, I'm just not really set on what I want my performance to be."

Konpeitō knew nothing about music magic, outside of what Lynn taught him and things he overheard. There wasn't any good advice he could give Lynn on how to put together pieces for a song. It looked like she figured it out herself, however. Ah, the wonders of having someone to talk to until you figure it out yourself, with your partner doing nothing.

If only that was the hard part. As much as Kon liked to help his friends, he liked to not do work more. But he wanted to know what Lynn had planned, and more than that, he didn't want to be a bad friend.

"Hmm... You're using a wind instrument, you're trying to gather birds, the festival is in spring, and you're very nature-y. What about your performance surrounding plants and animals? I'm throwing random ideas out, but maybe you could use magic that has flower petals circling you and the birds?"

Lynn let Kon speak and just gave him a really goofy grin. "I was thinking of doing something like that! Well having my bird friends divebomb a bunch of flowers around."

Kon did mention something Lynn didn't even think about. The festival is in spring. Spring Lynn's time of year and everything they do on the stage for the festival needed to represent that. "Spring....spring..." Lynn hummed to themselves in thought.

"Well I might not have to learn new magic for the festival. I coul-" Lynn eyes open wide. "Flowers and bees! Maybe I could use pollen!? Or is that a baf idea because of allergies..." Right, pollen wasn't excatly a thing peole liked as much.

Lynn's smile made Kon feel less insecure for suggesting an idea she already had in mind. Only the spring part seemed useful to her. On the bright side, Kon managed to support Lynn on an idea she may not have been as confident in. Always better to focus on the bright side.

"I don't think pollen would be good. Bees might scare some people too. Er... I'm not sure bees are a common fear here. In the Narrow Reality, it is." What were common fears on this island?

"What about flowers and butterflies?"
