Delaney helplessly sagged her shoulders. Georgette was smart, but her training wasn't exactly, 'just follow that person!'. Delaney ruffled the poodle's hair, more to keep herself calm than anything else. "Well, just keep talking then I can follow your voice." Her frustration was only mild and short-lived.

"You mean donuts? Heck yeah, you deserve 'em for your good deeds." Her guardian angel wasn't so bad. "And thanks for taking pity on me, despite my sorry face." Delaney giggled. She wondered what her little angel looked like, then paused. Calling this person her guardian angel was her own little joke but, "Wait, are you a for real angel?" Like, Delaney knew there were angels around but she didn't often come across them!

"Holy-I mean, um. Gosh heck! I sure got lucky." Her own personal angel was helping her out!

Ida grinned when Delaney said she deserved donuts. It wasn’t every day that someone actually understood what she deserved.

Ida burst out laughing after the girl then asked if she was an actual guardian angel. She nearly fell over before she stopped herself. If it wasn’t for needing to laugh so bad she could’ve kept up an act and told her she was an angel. It really was too bad she’d blown it.

“Not quite kid. But somethin’ like that.” She didn’t really want to tell her she was an imp. As far as she understood the species wasn’t exactly known for being trustworthy and not really for bad reasons.

“Alright, this way.” She turned another corner, heading down another street she didn’t recognize.

So, not a real guardian angel. It was kinda a relief, honesty. Delaney was bad about watching her language, often said the first thing that came to mind. Then she wasn't sure what a real angel would think of her and the source of her powers. "Well, that's fine too." She said with a chuckle of her own, "My family never went to church and I don't need to hear the Je- uh, savior talk."

Delaney continued to follow, Ida, trusting that her little guardian knew what she was doing. She kept a mental record of the turns they made out of habit. "Hey, let me treat you to those donuts for helping me out." Though Delaney has learned there's no shame in asking for help, she still liked to return the favor and buying a few donuts as thanks was totally doable.

Ida perked up at the mention of getting free donuts. That was music to her ears. “Well, if you insist.”

Without really thinking about it, she started heading towards the donut place instead of the random direction she was going before. She didn’t even tell Delaney about the change in destination, she just went ahead and started walking there. of course she made sure to shout “this way.” Or “that way.”

Before long they had arrived at the donut place. “Alright, here we are.” Ida banged on the wheelchair person picture that opened the doors automatically then walked on in, the smell of donuts quickly becoming obvious.

Delaney continued to follow after Ida, and heaved a sigh of relief when they finally made it to the shop. "Aw yeah, I hope they have a chair I can sit in for a bit. My feet are tired." She's been walking about for the better part of the day. Georgette dutifully guided her through the open door and smell of fresh baked goods hit her like a sack of bricks. Why did she smell donuts?

A lady greeted the two of them with chain restaurant enthusiasm and that's when it all sunk in. "You were leading me to a donut shop this whole time?" She accused Ida, a little upset that the person who promised to help instead lead her along. "Like, I know I said I'd buy you some as my treat, but like, after I got to the store I was looking for."

"Well you should've made that more clear. You said, ahem-" Ida made a different voice as if to copy Delaney's, although it really didn't sound anything like her. "Hey, let me treat you to those donuts for helping me out ." Then she returned to her usual voice. "You never said when."

She sighed and decided to try and turn this around. After all, she wouldn't get donuts if this girl wasn't willing to buy them. "Besides, this was all part of the plan..." Ida was still putting together exactly what the plan was. "I was going to ask these guys for directions. They know how to get anywhere. It just makes sense to stop and get donuts while we're here though, ya know?"

"Well!" Delaney started to protest but she couldn't really remember exactly what she said. Though, she was sure she didn't specify a time. "Well, you could have told me you wanted donuts first! And why should I treat you when you haven't helped me yet. That's like paying someone before the job is done! Or whatever." So she didn't specify when but that surly the expectation was that the treat came after the job.

She paused, considering Ida's explanation. Then she sighed, "Okay. Fine. But tell me next time? It. . . it really felt like you were leading me on." Like she was taken advantage of because she's blind. With Georgette's help she found a seat at a table . "You can get two donuts and the both of them together can't cost more than five dollars." Delaney said, being very specific this time. This place could have giant ten dollar donuts for all she knew.

“You do that here too.” Ida said flatly in response to Delaney saying it was like paying someone before the job was done. “You give them money first then they give you donuts.”

Ida held in a snicker at the part about leading her on. Her tone sounded innocent, maybe a bit too exaggerated. “Me? Lead you on? I would never, I’m your angel remember, I would never, that’s crazy.”

When told she could get two donuts and they couldn’t be more than five dollars, she rolled her eyes and said “Yeah, sure.” Then she started looking for money. “So how’re ya paying then?”

Delaney pouted, "Well, here I know I'm going to get donuts when I pay. It's a sure thing." She couldn't help but argue back, refusing to let her "guardian angel" think she's won. Won what? Didn't matter! It's the principal about it now. Delaney also didn't like the too innocent tone. "Yeah, crazy. Unthinkable." She replied blandly.

She pulled her wallet from her back pocket and thumbed through the bills. Different dollar amounts were folded in certain ways so she could tell them about by feel. Dela pulled out a five dollar bill and held it out. "Ask them for a cup of water for me." No please, because she was still miffed. "And bring back my change."

Maybe she's being too unfair. Delaney leaned back in her seat and thought about it while Ida made her purchase. Sure it all seemed shady now but, like, she could have been more clear? Ugh, Dela didn't want to think about it anymore. Once she finds that store she could forget all about this.

Ida frowned when she was handed a regular five dollar bill. Part of her expected this girl to pull out a twenty by mistake. Regardless, she took the money, replying “Yeah yeah.” To returning the change before heading over to wait in the now two person line. She paid no attention to the lack of please in Dela’s request. The word was foreign to her anyway.

Before long Ida was at the front of the line. Without much thought she ordered three donuts. Three was the decided amount that she could stretch it. She’d still get change back and she could get an extra donut so why not get a little something extra. It wasn’t like what’s her face would even notice.

After she was handed the donuts in a little bag, she proceeded to actually ask for the cup of water. She wasn’t polite in how she asked but she did get the water for Dela. That being said, she completely forgot about asking directions.

With her spoils in hand, she stopped a short distance from the girl as a thought crept into her head. She could leave. Right here, she could walk right out the door and she’d have another extra donut and some change. This idiot wouldn’t know what she looked like in the slightest, there would be no harm done...

And so that’s just what she did. She walked right out, taking a donut from the pouch and beginning to munch with a happy grin on her face. Well there was a happy grin, it went away after a few bites. The donut didn’t taste too good. They had messed it up somehow. Probably on purpose or something. After all, everyone was horrible. Even that girl, that’s why this was okay, because that girl was just as bad as she was...

Ida paced around for a few seconds before throwing the donut against the ground and shouting “Fuck!” Before booting the thing a few meters away. Then she walked back the short ways to the donut shop, an angry expression glued to her face.

she stomped back in, heading up to the front and asking/telling them to tell her where The Overflow was. And after a coworker who was better versed in this stuff was asked to come help, she was given the directions.

With that, Ida came back to Delaney, having taken a pretty long time for what she was doing. “Hey, I’m back, here’s your water or whatever. And here’s the change.” Ida held the cup out and waited for her to grab it before letting go, then did the same with the change. She never explained what took her so long.
