Natasha listened in wide-eyed awe to Erza. Had he really just ascertained all that from the little bit she had told him about her life and Gregor Donoski? That was amazing, looking at Salem very impressed, Natasha just chuckled as she leaned up back against the bookshelves.

"You are almost correct in all of your assumptions," she said, "I was born around 1769, give or take a year or two, maybe three... " people back then weren't great about keeping records so it was a date she had chosen herself much later on in life...

"So I am, more or less, about 250 years old..." she stated, "I met Gregor as a young girl, when I had just entered court life. He became a good friend, almost like a father at times," she said remembering with fondness her friend and sometimes mentor.

"He was already fairly old when I met him. He was a wizard, a druid... and they live a long time. I only assume he has passed, but I honestly do not know..." she told Ezra/Salem as she glanced down at his book and wondered about that.

"And I do know old Russian," she confirmed,"My parents, family, spoke it. Rural peasants were slow to adapt to changes of the times," she explained. "The court, while traditional, was very forward-thinking too... especially, Katerina... she was a force to reckon with, formidable really," Natasha remembered the Tsarina and smiled. Too many men had underestimated her and she had used that to her strength.

"I am surprised that you are that much older than my assessment concluded. The concept of time is a very odd thing, I suppose." The plush cat shrugged, once again trying to be respectful to Miss Natasha as she spoke of her possibly deceased mentor and friend as well as her explanation of how she could comprehend Old Russian. It was a curious note that the power discrepancy between the ruling class and the subjects would have such a cultural difference that even the language they spoke could differ. Humanity was certainly an oddity.

"Well, I do thank you for the opportunity to be educated further on the Russian culture as well as the discovery of this tome. I am quite certain that Miss Asteria would be most curious about it." The puppet reached over to pick up the tome that had been resting on the floor during their conversation. Once the book was safely wrapped between Salem's paws, the cat puppet looked up at Natasha.

"Miss Natasha, I have just realized that you have spent the whole time assisting me with my gift that you have not gotten anything for yourself. Allow me to assist you in finding whatever sort of tome you are looking for. I assume you may be looking for something magic related in nature, yes? I may not know the more intricate of magical details, but I have studied enough with Miss Asteria in order to at least assist in your search."

"Yes, time is a weird thing, that it is..." Natasha had to agree with the assertation. She had found time never stood still yet some things never changed despite it, or events often repeated themselves somehow.

"You are quite welcome, I am always open to talk about my homeland," Natasha told Ezra honestly, surprising herself at the same time that she had indeed enjoyed talking about the past. It was something she rarely did with people because she had found it brought up too many memories sometimes.

Then at his offer to help her find something, Natasha shook her head, "That's okay, I just came in here to look around, see if I saw something interesting. I didn't really need anything." she said with a smile, "But thank you for the offer, I'm just glad I could help you find a nice gift for your guardian."

"Well, if you ever need anything, you can always ask. It is good to repay a kindness with another kindness, or so I have been taught. And I do enjoy hearing more about your homeland, Miss Natasha. It is always useful to learn more information wherever you may find it." Salem nodded a few times, and the small cat plush gave the tome in its arms a small squeeze. It would begin walking towards the front desk where they could pay for the tome. The small pitter-patter of soft cotton against hardwood floor was almost unnoticeable as they approached the older man on the other side.

With a grunt of effort and stretching all the way on the puppet's feet, the cat got the book onto the counter with a soft thud. The older man looked up from his book briefly, noticing the book now resting on the counter where one was not previously. He looked around for a moment, trying to ascertain the origin of the book before looking down and seeing the plush black cat puppet. "Salutations, shopkeeper. I am Ezra Taliesin Vrall, and I would like to purchase this tome with my credit card." Reaching into its little vest pocket, the puppet was somehow able to pull out a sleek black card with a very ornate golden design in the middle. The older man raised a brow in curiosity, but shrugged and quickly totaled out the purchase. Sliding the book into a bag for the puppet, Salem struggled for a moment to properly grip the book before finally getting a solid hold.

"Many thanks, sir." The cat puppet bowed to the man before turning back to Natasha who had been following right behind. They needed to pay more attention to their surroundings. "Miss Natasha, it has been a pleasure speaking with you and your help finding this tome has been immeasurable. As I stated previously, if you need anything, do not hesitate to ask. My guardian would probably enjoy conversing with you as well, as anything magic related usually catches her interest. Perhaps we can meet over tea some time."

The cat plush bowed again before making their way out the door. "Farewell, Miss Natasha."
