<div align=center>That was very true. They weren't all that great of kings, he didn't think any kings in history had taken to eating their subjects, but some had done things that were just as bad. He supposed if lions didn't eat zebras, then what would they eat? Lions would look very different if they ate grass, he thought kind of like a very shaggy horse. It would have made The Lion King a very different movie indeed if Rafiki had dangled a tiny shaggy foal over the cliff instead of a mighty lion cub. Though then again, if lions had always looked like that, people wouldn't know any different, and therefore they wouldn't question it. He shook his head, he was beginning to confuse himself.

As a child, Hadrian had always been frightened of the elephant graveyard. But now he thought about it, it would be pretty cool to go to one, elephants weren't exactly small animals, it'd be cool to see all those huge skeletons. "It'd be kinda scary if you were as little as Simba, though." The hyenas in The Lion King were another thing that had previously frightened the boy, they were so cackly and creepy that it was more or less expected for a young child to be afraid of them.

"Have you seen a hyena in real life?" He asked, nestling just that little bit closer to the girl and glancing sideways at her, "they're the strangest animals I've ever seen- why would you design something like that?" They had short legs at the back, and long ones at the front. He didn't see how that would be convenient at all, in fact, it would be quite the opposite. "Do you think they can run very fast? It's gotta be pretty awkward for them." He didn't recall ever seeing a hyena run, though he supposed they did.</div>

Ania agreed that it was probably rather scary for a tiny lion to be terrified of a huge graveyard. She would probably be terrified to visit, too, no matter how cool it sounded. No, but I've seen pictures." They were stupid looking anmals, with ridiculously proportioned legs. Hyenas almost looked like a child had tried to draw a dog, and failed terribly. "I imagine they sort of have to run in a ... long loping motion? Use their front legs to consume ground and their back to push off aggressively. Sort of like a giraffe's gait." That made the most sense to her, anyway. Giraffes had the same sloped back that hyenas had.

The Lion King animators didn't do the hyenas justice in their appearances, though. They were beautiful dog-creatures, but looked so malevolent in the picture. "Wouldn't it be neat to have a pet hyena? They're pretty, in their own way." She had seen plenty of pictures, she especially admired the ones who had striped bodies and speckled legs. Excellent for terrifying strangers, too. Though, in the right hands, any pet could be terrifying. Like chihuahuas.

<div align=center>It was a strange thought, a hyena running. They must have been quite effective though, otherwise wouldn't they all be dead? Hadrian assumed so. He was beginning to make himself sleepy, and his mind would slow every now and then and he got the very slight feeling that he might just doze off. When he snapped awake again, he found himself using Ania as sort of a make-shift pillow, leaned up against her with his head rested atop hers. It took him a second or two to recollect himself again, "oh..." He brought a hand up to stifle a yawn. "Sorry. I'm.. Half asleep." He'd try and stay awake until the movie finished though.

"A pet hyena?" He'd heard they had a stronger bite than a great white shark, being bitten by a hyena wouldn't be a very pleasant experience, he didn't think. "It'd be kinda like a dog, I guess." Same sort of concept, anyway, same sort of shape. Though walking a hyena around the park would make people talk. Then again, he supposed he had a tiger that followed him around like an overly obedient dog. "You wanna go to sleep soon?" He asked, softly. "I'm tired." He sat up a little and stretched, stifling a second yawn.</div>

Ania was feeling rather comfortable and warm, with Hadrian drooped all over her, when she realised that perhaps he had fallen asleep. She really couldn't blame him for it - it was getting late and she was starting to drift off as well. The only thing keeping her awake were the vividly animated scenes of Mufasa swooping in to save his errant child. Her suspicions were confirmed a few moments later when he seemed to come back to life to talk to her. She supposed that hyenas would be like a pet dog, though. A rather dangerous and flashy pet dog. Stroking Hadrian's arm, Ania had to fight a smile. He was much cuter when he was tired, a little like a kitten.

"Yes, I think we can probably save the movie for later. You look tired. It's cute." He sort of had this odd fuzzy look to him, a contrast to the usual sharpness that he carried. She had seen quite a few different sides, and still was a little bemused that a simple accident in the library could have led to all this. Sitting up straighter, she arched her back in a sort of lazy stretch. "D'you think you can make it to bed? Or shall I have to drag you there?"

<div align=center>Hadrian would have fought being called cute at this point, but he was too sleepy to fight back. Not that he'd ever win that fight, Ania was far too persistent. It was rare for him to fall asleep around another person, though he supposed that meant he was comfortable with her. That was a good thing, Hadrian was the sort of person that kept himself to himself, he usually distanced himself from people, but he didn't want to do that with Ania. Her company was perhaps the one he appreciated most of all, he'd drop absolutely anyone to be with her, he liked her far more than everyone else.

He laughed when she asked if she'd have to drag him, he thought it would probably be a lot harder for her to drag him than it was for him to walk, so he went for walking instead, to save the girl the trouble. "I can walk." He asked, pushing himself to his feet and turning back to face her again, "can you? Do you want me to carry you to bed?" He purred, a small grin crossing his features, and one of his eyebrows flicking up. Altair lifted his head at the mention of going to bed, Hadrian glanced to him and shook his head. Letting Altair into the bedroom was not something he was very willing to do.</div>

Sitting up straight as Hadrian pushed away from the couch, she resisted the urge to whine in protest. Taking a couple moments to find her balance, Ania unfolded her legs and set the blanket aside, looking up to watch him. Now that bedtime was imminent, she could really feel the exhaustion start to creep in. Sitting like this in front of him, Ania could definitely see where those stupid sappy romance novels got their ammo. The ambiance was perfect, a warm night inside with minimal clothing. There was even an exotic tiger sitting in the corner, adding to the effect. Now all she needed to do was internally narrate with as many obscure adjectives as she could possibly come up with.

Rising up to meet him, Ania wrapped her arms around him and braced her chin on his chest. "Yes, I think I'm feeling exceptionally weak in your radiant presence. You should carry me." That sounded beautifully cheesy, and she had to stop herself from laughing. Those types of lines in movies always made her wonder whether people actually said that type of thing to their partners. "I bet Altair would be a good sleeping partner. Soft and warm. It's too bad he's so big, though."

<div align=center>Hadrian lifted her up with not much struggle and tucked his arms underneath her like you'd carry a baby. "Waah she's so cute." The boy purred, pressing a kiss to the top of Ania's head. "I'm gonna steal her." Altair lifted himself to all fours again as Hadrian picked Ania up. He padded through the hallway and up to the right, to the little room that was more or less intended to be the animal's 'bedroom.' "He's awfully needy, though." Hadrian laughed, "he'll break the mattress if he gets in bed." That had happened once before, Hadrian had yelled and Altair hadn't climbed up there since.

He clung to the girl and headed up toward the stairs, pausing for a moment to switch off the light in the lounge. He'd picked his duvet up and dragged it behind himself up the stairs and into his bedroom. The room was large and nicely decorated, the bed was king size rather than double and there was a built in wardrobe in the wall. It was warm in there, and Hadrian had kept it mostly tidy. He placed Ania down next to the pillows and spread the blankets back onto the bed. He switched the bedside lamp on, and turned the main light off. It was cosier that way. "Are you alright in here?" He asked, "warm enough?"</div>

Ania leaned into the kiss, pleased to be carried around. "But! Maybe you can contact the fattest man in the world and find out what type of mattress he uses. I bet if it can support him, it could support a tiger!" That would be a nice gift, she thought. Get the cat a mattress to sleep on so he wouldn't be lonely. It was thoughts like these that made her question whether she liked the tiger more than her boyfriend. Ania clutched Hadrian as they began to move up the stairs, burying her face in his neck. The gentle sway of his gait had an almost trance-like effect on her mind, and she barely registered entering his room.

She had always envied his room; it was much more comfortable than the dorm accommodations, and certainly much warmer. Placed near the pillows, Ania tucked her legs underneath her body and tilted her head, mildly worried at the way he had worded that. He planned on sleeping here, didn't he? "You're staying in here with me, right?" There was plenty of room on the bed, anyway, and even if there wasn't, she wouldn't have minded being close. "I don't wanna be alone"

<div align=center>That was an idea, though how he'd get in contact with that man would be another challenge entirely. Altair would be good to have in his bed during the winter months when it was colder, but when it got hot was an absolute no go. Hadrian would end up getting far too hot with all that fur pressed up against him. He didn't think Altair got lonely without him though, they were as independent as each other, when Altair wanted to leave, he left, and Hadie did the same thing. They always ended up in the same place by the end of the day though, or if they didn't, neither really worried about the other. They could both fend for themselves rather well.

He laughed when Ania asked if he was staying in the room, and nodded his head. "Yeah," he returned, pulling his shirt over his head and dropping on the floor behind him. "I wouldn't leave you all by yourself, would I?" He asked, frowning a little and climbing up next to her. The boy yawned softly, and fell backwards so his head hit the pillows. The bed was soft and comfortable, Hadrian very likely would have spent most of his time there if he had it his was. "I don't like the thought of you being all alone."</div>

Watching with undisguised fascination, Ania admired the now shirtless Hadrian quietly. She hadn't thought to modestly look away, and felt a small tinge of shame for being so brazen. Secretly, she was pleased that he didn't like the idea of leaving her alone, even if it was something as small as sleeping in another room. He flopped back on the pillows, and she took her opening to slide in closer. Nudging herself under his arm like an insistent cat, the girl aligned her body with his and slung an arm over his chest. Tracing mindless patterns over his skin, Ania

"I don't like the thought of you being alone, either. I ... Like being close to you." It was quiet in here, and she was feeling sleepy. All the more reason to say something stupid too soon. She had a minor issue with wearing her heart on her sleeve, and this relationship was no different. Her hand stopped moving, and she maneuvered herself up on her elbow. Leaning a little ways over, she hovered for a moment. In a timid little voice, she confessed, "I love you."
