He'd watch as she pulled the darkness over herself, Selena stepping besides him to observe the ongoing magical. "That's good," James would say, he could tell she was covered in darkness, but he could still see her, his true sight ability was useful though a bit odd, he could see an outline of her.

"You're covered," he'd say, stepping to the left and looking her over, Shadow was complaining in the back of his mind, the true sigh ability didn't extend to the entity, so Zora was invisible to him. "Everything ok on there? Breathing ok?" he wanted to make sure it was safe for her.

Hearing James talking to her, Zora let down the shadow veil and stepped free of it, reappearing as normal. The shadow had not hurt her, nor did it even feel weird, it was perhaps a few degrees cooler when contained within but nothing unbearable, and thankfully, she could see within the veil and just saw everything around her but muted slightly like when wearing dark sunglasses during a sunny day.

"I am fine, don't worry," Zora said as she dropped the shadow entirely and smiled at her own regalia to show her she was okay.

He could see her outline as she was cloaked in shadow it was so interesting, being able to see someone who was hidden from others. In the background his regalia watched and nodded in approval.

"Good good," he'd say giving her a grin, "you did well," she was a fast learner, that was good, "you've picked it up quickly, guessing you're pretty used to magic." Darkness wasn't considered an element by most but he suspected elementalists would have the least difficulty learning darkness manipulation.

"Let's try a smaller shadow," he'd say, gesturing to one such shadow, "see if you'll be able to blend into it."

"Yes, I am an elemental magic caster, a water witch basically, so it's not too out there..." she explained since she could also manipulate water in the air, vapor and moisture... shadows weren't all that different in a way.

"Smaller shadows..." she mused, looking around her for something smaller and saw the shadow of a signpost. "Let's try that one" she said stepping over to the shadow and considering it first, not exactly too sure if she should expand it, bend it, or what.

He'd nod, watching her step over to the smaller shadow, stretching smaller ones were sometimes a bit trickier. "Just like last time, clear your mind, let the magical connection do the work as your mind touches the shadow."

Again he'd have his true sight, letting him see her outline once she was wrapped in the darkness. Selene stayed by his side, watching the tutor session, watching how James handled it.

Zora studied the shadow briefly, deciding exactly how to tackle it. Finally, she stepped forward into the shade using her abilities to expand and adapt to the shadow to her body, allowing her to disappear into its darkness.

There she stood still, quiet, not moving as she waited patiently for a bit before she let the shadow down and stepped out of the darkness to look at Shadow, give her a wink, and then smile in satisfaction at James and Selene. "That was quite easy," she said with a small laugh.

James would again watch as she vanished into the shadow, her outline being quite clear to him thanks to his ability. True sight combined with shadow magic would make an interesting combination.

"It gets easier the more you do it," he'd say with a chuckle, "once you've used it enough times it becomes almost like instinct." He was enjoying this, he was going to have to help tutor shadow mages more often.

"You've done wonderfully Zora," he said truthfully, "shadow magic is incredibly useful, don't be afraid to experiment with it, it's a bit different for everyone." He himself could spawn darkness for his own manipulations, but most started manipulating pre-existing darkness, "I'd say you got shadow blending down pretty well, we could do more practice here if you'd like."

Zora smiled at James when he told her that she was managing well with her ability to manipulate and control the shadows around her. Surprisingly, even she, herself, had been pleasantly surprised at her skill with such a foreign magic concept.

It was not an ability she'd ever have chosen for herself, but because of Shadow, her regalia, and her careful induction into it plus the help she was getting from James made everything seamless and a treat to control.

"I think maybe one or two more attempts, and I should be able to handle it from there with Shadows' help and guidance," she said to James, glancing at the woman and smiling warmly.

He'd give her a smile, she'd done well, shadow magic was an odd thing that people found difficult at times but she had certainly figured it out quickly.

"Ok, one or two more times then," he'd enjoyed this, he hoped to have more chances to teach shadow magic to people, it wasn't something he'd expected to be good at, yet here he was.

James would watch her as she practiced more, his true sight ability allowing him to see her outline through the shadows.

After practising for a while longer, attempting everything she had learned a few more times, James then gave Zoraida a couple more last minute suggestions and pointers before they finally parted ways.

Gesturing to Shadow when James had left, Zoraida hooked her arm in her regalia's and reassured her that all was good, that she had learned a lot and that Shadow could, if she wanted, stay on and teach Zora a little while longer how to control her new ability.
