Vos had been checking the snares, gathering anything he'd caught rabbits proved to be a fine source of food. It was then he caught a scent, one that was unfamiliar, he couldn't identify the species. He'd found out people lived on the island but had yet tried to truly make contact.

Adjusting his bag and his cloak he'd start to cautiously move towards the scent. From shadow to shadow he'd quickly and silently travel, until he found himself perched on a branch, hidden in the darkness of the tree. Below was a girl, firing arrows, practicing archery.

For a time he'd watch her quietly, interested in how skilled she was. Eventually he'd speak, "huh....you're not bad girl," he'd step out of the shadows to where she could see him, but remained perched on the branch, "for combat or hunting?" he expected it was for neither.

She had been practicing for about forty-five minutes, hitting difference targets at different distances and with different difficulties incorporated. Liliana then took one step back or to the side as she adjusted her positioning every time she pulled back an arrow, aimed at a target and shot.

Hearing a crunch behind her along with a deep voice, Liliana automatically swiveled her body, turning on her heel as she maintained her aim, her one hand pulling and holding the arrow in place as she eyed and kept the arrow trained on the stranger.

"Combat," Liliana remarked evenly as she looked at the strange man through the scope of the bow, ready to let go of the arrow if she sensed any danger.

He'd raise an eyebrow and chuckle, "fast are we?" he'd say, the lower half of his face hidden by a cloth like always. "you're hardly the first person to aim an arrow at me, won't be the last," he wasn't afraid, in fact he came off as very calm, he was confident he could defend himself if it came to that.

Vos would quickly look her over, "you seem skilled enough," he was positive he was better, having grown up with nothing but combat as his life. "What's your name?" he'd ask, removing his bag and hanging it on a branch, having never really given the arrow much mind.

Between his training and reflexes he could catch an arrow easily enough, and taking her down would be easily enough. But he wasn't hostile, he lived here now, and this was one of his first time contacting the locals.

"Liliana," she answered him very cautiously, not quite convinced he was entirely harmless and therefore did not, for the moment, lower her bow and continued to keep it cocked on him, her hand steady from years of practice and strong discipline.

"What are you doing here in the forest?" she asked the man darkly, taking in his face and his mask and frowning at this, adding then, "And why were you following me?"

"Liliana," he'd repeat the name with a thoughtful hum, the name sounded exotic to him. "Liliana the archer then," he'd tilt his head, still giving no mind to the bow, it was no threat.

"I was hunting, rabbits to be exact," he'd motion to his bag, which held his two rabbits. "And I was hardly following you, if I was you wouldn't know I was here," he'd say with smoothly without any hint of being cocky or bragging, he was speaking the truth. "I caught your scent, didn't recognize it, came to sate my curiosity and see the source," he'd motion to her, "there you are, my curiosity sated," he'd say with a small chuckle.

"You are from the city?" he'd ask curiously, he'd seen said city from a distance, had yet to try and venture to it.

"Rabbits?" Liliana said, furrowing her brow lightly while she then glanced past him a little and then let her eyes wander a bit, finally settling back on his body and noticing the cloak, and what looked like, perhaps, a bag of some sort. The type people tended to use when hunting.

Lowering her bow somewhat when he explained himself, she nodded a little at his question. "Yes, I am from the city, the school to be more exact," she explained, adding quickly, "My roommate and boyfriend know I am here in the forest," she added wanting him to know that she would be missed if he tried anything.

"Why do you ask?" she asked him with cautious curiosity, suspicious of his questions and/or intentions.

He'd flip open the bag, revealing that it indeed held two rabbits. "They'll make a fine meal this evening," the woods was filled with food, even as it got colder, and he didn't have to earn the food through combat like he did in his home hell.

"Boyfriend?" he'd ask, unsure for a moment what the term meant, tilting his head as he thought, "ah yes, that's one of the terms people use to refer to their mates?" He had never been in a real relationship, such things were handled differently in his old home.

Vos would hum in thought, "the city is strange, people walking about among each other so freely." He'd scratch at his cheek, "I'd never seen anything like it before," he'd snuck to the edges and watch from there, he saw everything from demons to minotaurs, "is it pleasant?"

Liliana furrowed her brow, KirMir wasn't exactly her "mate", but she wasn't about to correct the strange man who she had just met. She decided that maybe it was better to let the assumption slide.

As the man talked, Liliana lowered her bow completely, she still kept it firmly in hand though, ready to raise and shoot if she had to, but for now, she was getting the feeling that he wasn't dangerous.

"You have never been into the city?" Liliana asked slightly taken aback by this possibility as she peered at him now with cautious interest.

"Walking around the city is, well, yes, it's pleasant, I guess," she replied hesitantly as then she considered his question, "I have never really thought about it much to be honest," she confessed. "I've always lived in towns and cities," she added as she released her grip on the arrow.

He'd hum in thought, "they all walk so freely," it was certainly different from the slums he'd been forced to live in, "I see no set positions, no caste system, it is so different." Vos had been considering finally entering the city, talking to officials.

Another hum and he'd turn back to her, "what if you?" he'd ask, tilting his head, "are you considered high rank among the people of this island?" He'd kept his distance for some time, now he hoped to learn a bit more about his new home.

"And the demons that love here....what are they like?" he'd seen a good variety of them while watching from a distance, though he saw no shadow demons, which was a relief to him.

His manner was odd to be sure, Liliana thought as she put her arrow back in its quiver and hooked the bow across her body securely. "There is no caste system here, not really. There are people with a lot of money, or that are famous but they aren't considered better than somebody like me, someone of normal wealth or status," she told him.

"Everybody is essentially the same before the law and society," she added, finding his questions about Manta Carlos somewhat strange, and quickly surmising that he must not be from this dimension or world.

When he asked her about demons, Liliana shrugged, not sure how to answer, "Normal, good, maybe?" she said as she put her hands in her pockets. "Demons are just people here, not good or bad, really."
