James sat slumped against a wall, the waves of panic fading, he'd managed to hide the panic attacks. No one knew, not his friends, his his teachers, no one. Well, no one except Shadow, who frankly had no idea how to calm or help his host.

The young man whipped a bit of sweat from his head, his left hand shaking terribly. Between the panic attacks and the nightmares his stress levels had shot up, he'd tried distracting himself with extra jobs, but it hadn't helped.

So he sat there, trying to clear his mind, push through the panic. The Shadow remained silent, unsure of what to do. All in all, he wasn't doing great, young James had many issues, damage that had yet to heal.

Although stress was not detectable through scent, sweat was. Marina had been making her way through the school when the salty scent wafted through the air. Although, normally, that would be a natural occurrence what with student athletes and such but she was fairly certain that there were no such activities going on at this time. Additionally, she wasn't anywhere near the gymnasium when it came to the building's layout but the smell was strong. Flaring her nostrils to better determine the source of the scent, the vampire decided to take a detour. To hell with meetings, they barely listened to her anyways. She still had a half an hour, anyways. She over-prepared for these types of things.

Rounding a corner, the female scanned the area, her violet irises piercing through the semi-darkness of the hallway. There, she spotted him. A small body, pressed against the side of a wall, unmoving. Clearly, something was bothering him. She could see his hands shaking, heard his ragged breathing. Slowly, she would approach him, allowing her flats to make a bit of noise on the tile floor so he would hear her coming. She didn't want to scare him by suddenly speaking or touching him without making some noise first.

She would stop a foot or so away from him and crouch down to look at him. "Hey kiddo, you okay?" she would ask, purposely making her voice soft so that she wouldn't scare him. She could tell he was really wigged out. If he didn't want to talk to her, she could just leave him be. No harm, no foul. However, she couldn't just ignore him.

He flinched ever so slightly as the voice hit his ears, it was a calm, kind voice, but he wasn't expecting it. He looked up at her, his breathing still ragged and inconsistent. "S-sorry......I'm sorry."

James rose from where he sat, his legs and left hand shaking, he placed his good right hand against the wall to support himself, "I'm sorry.....I....I know...I," he took a breath to steady himself, "I know I shouldn't be here." A bit of the old James was showing, the one who was terrified of Garret, of authority in general.

His gray silver eyes shot down to look at the floor, he'd been trying to hide his issues reemerging, the nightmares and now flashbacks. "I....I...," he stammered a bit, his right hand grabbing his shaking left, "I guess I should...go back to class."
