- Marina has a somewhat boy-ish appearance to her. She was turned around the age of 26 so, although she appears mature, she still gets carded when entering clubs and before buying alcohol. Her hair has the color of freshly poured ink - dark, murky black. A disturbing contrast to the darkness of her scalp is the paleness of her skin, unnaturally close to the color of watery pancake batter. Her eyes, a betrayal to nature, are a dark shade of purple, almost like an eggplant in color. Contrary to her real age, she shows no external signs of aging, not so much as a wrinkle.
- Hiding underneath a pair of strawberry jam-colored lips are two, pearl white fangs. Scars litter the inside of her mouth from the previous trauma induced during her transformation. Although she's been a vampire for 175 years, she still hasn't quite mastered not stabbing herself in the mouth when she gets excited. She had been a serial lip-biter as a child and unfortunately, old habits die hard.
- She has a moderately dull clothing style, as she was never one for fashion. Her attire generally consists of dress slacks, flats, a simple, somewhat dressy blouse, and her hair brushed to one side of her face. The only colors she wears are black, maroon, and the occasional grey. It's not that she dislikes bright colors, they just make her look like an apparition from hell. Dark colors mix well with her ghastly skin tone and unnatural features.
Personality Description:
- Marina is a fairly serious individual. She tends to take things to the next level even if the situation might not warrant such a thing. She's over-prepared dancing on the edge of paranoia, but that does make her a fairly good Communications director. At the very least, she has an answer for whatever gets thrown in her face, no matter how bizarre. That doesn't necessarily mean she's perfect, of course - she is still capable of instinctive overreaction.
- Sarcasm is like a second language to her so, although she believes in professionalism and seriousness, she can't always help herself. In fact, she can barely ever resist a good comeback if the situation allows it. When she's working, she'll keep it under wraps for the most part but the same can't be said for outside of the school. She also adopts the sailor's language at times outside of work - so much so that, sometimes, people wonder if they're even speaking to the same individual.
- Her vices are, of course, accompanied by virtues. For one, she carries with her an extraordinary amount of passion for what she decides to invest herself into. Whether that would be her work, a person, or a really good meal, she makes her time count for what it's worth. She takes pride in what she does and doesn't allow herself to fail to meet her own standards. She's a driven individual and she knows that, even with her flaws, she'll get shit done.

- Without consumption of blood, vampire will eventually wither to death (approximately five days' time without any sustenance - can last longer if small amounts are ingested over time but will remain weak and disabled)
- Abnormal strength compared to humans but not supernatural strength (for example, able to lift a car a foot off of the ground at most but not strong enough to carry it)
- Heals at an abnormally fast rate (semi-deep wound closes within several minutes, still requires medical attention for severe injury)
- Can turn other humanoids into vampires through having them ingest her blood
- Enhanced senses (hear soft noises and noises from extended distances, can see well in the dark, sensitive nose)
Knowledge Absorption
- Only activates through physical touch
- User inherits specific knowledge from the victim (includes memories)
- Power can also be used on texts like books so that reading is obselete and a waste of time.
- The power can be quite painful to the victim depending on how rough she is. Because she also has to maintain physical contact, it's unlikely that the victim won't notice her using her power on them. The only exception would be if the victim was unconscious.
- User must look for something specific. They cannot absorb an entire mind's knowledge and memories without severe mental repercussions and consequences for both user and victim.
- Acquired knowledge can fade from user's memory depending on the amount of information obtained and the importance of it. User is more likely to remember knowledge that relates to themselves than otherwise
- User can peruse the mind of the victim for a short period of time in order to find the specific piece of information they are searching for. During this time, they are aware of the victim's current thoughts but cannot influence them.
- Side effects of power use may include: nosebleeds, headaches/migraines, mental confusion, loss of personal memories to make room for absorbed memories, and/or assimilation of learned personality traits into true self (temporarily or permanently).
- Born in 1816 to British father and American mother. Five biological siblings, all of which have since died. She was the second youngest. Raised in the United Kingdom.
- Turned to a vampire at the age of 26. She never met the vampire who had turned her and has no idea who he might be or where he might be now.
- She did all of her schooling in the United Kingdom and earned a Ph.D in Business with a double minor in Sociology and Psychology. (She had a lot of time on her hands)
- Moved to America at (technically) 55, since people in her hometown were starting to whisper about her. From that point on, she bounced around the United States for over a hundred years. At times, she traveled to other countries but she found it more interesting to stay within the U.S or the U.K.
- Even though she was technically getting older, she still felt invincible. She decided that she should make the best of the deal she got. In her terms, that meant getting blackout drunk, abusing substances that weren't even supposed to exist, feeding on whoever she pleased, and overall destroying herself just to wake up the next morning with mostly everything repaired. She'd had a few close calls that landed her in intensive care but after that, she would just skip town. She was not a remarkable person in the slightest.
- After getting drunk one night, Mari took the life of a fairly important individual within the States. Although the act itself was an accident, a feeding gone wrong, she made more noise than she had intended to. She was forced to evacuate herself from her sphere 'lest she endanger herself. It was around this time that she received a notice in the mail about the land of Manta Carlos.
- She took her time in deciding whether or not to move to the islands, up until she literally had neighbors banging on her doors. It was the best way out of the hairy mess she'd created for herself and she took the opportunity that she was presented with.
- At this point, she has lived on the islands for roughly three years. She has not quite formed the extensive connections she wanted to but she knows that those types of things take time. At the moment, she is comfortable in her administrative position, rents fairly nice apartment in the city, and feels quite pleased with herself. She likes to think that she has her act cleaned up and she's no longer the destructive, reckless person she used to be. As long as she stays away from the substances, she hopes she can make a life for herself.
- She has a fairly "posh" British accent.
