Xenforo 2 Donation Drive
I'm sure most of you have seen it, but if not, we're currently running a donation drive! For those curious, we're about halfway to our goal, and already showing some major progress on the test site.

The current version of SA uses approximately 50 addons to do everything we do, with many of those bumping into each other creating odd bugs. The new version currently has 12, which means a lot fewer bugs.

New month, new challenges. This month we're focusing on character creation, in line with our old contest: Character Creation Month. You can find them all here.​

Downtime​
Hello everyone, apologies again for the delays getting the site back up. We’re happy to announce that the issues are resolved and that you should all be able to access the site again.

While we initially reported there'd been no data loss, the data on the server did turn out to need to be completely wiped, requiring us to roll back to our last backup, which was Friday night. This means any posts made over the weekend were unfortunately lost. Make sure to check with your RP partners to work out which threads need to be caught up on.

To make up for lost time and posts, we’ll be giving everyone 10 vouchers. To redeem them, click the voucher panel, select redeem, and enter the code DOWNTIME.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the current events. The Student Council Election signups close on the 13th. We also have our Rumor Investigation thread. While the results were wiped (they should be restored sometime tomorrow), you should be able to post a new batch now.

In addition, we'd like to let people know that the Summer Investigation is going to be leading into a big, site-wide event that I think you'll all be excited for.

Also, a reminder that this year's Spacecon is coming up in a few weeks. We have some exciting plans for this one, so be sure to keep it in mind as well.

App Acceptance Change
This isn't a rule change, as it's never something officially confirmed or written down, but we did want to give our long term members a heads up. Currently we're running a bit low on staff (we're always recruiting rangers), and in order to keep us from getting completely burned out, we're slightly changing how we do app acceptance. Previously app acceptance was on a first come, first serve basis. We're now shifting things so that all (or at least most) of the mods look at things in their own time, and you won't get your acceptance or first pend for 48 hours after it's first posted.​

Downtime Update
Hey everyone! As I'm sure you're all aware, we're going to be having downtime next week to allow us to update to the next version of Xenforo.

We're going to be down for a full week during this process. At the time being, the only thing that we believe will be lost are your post templates, so please make sure to back them up!

During the week of downtime we're going to be running a number of events around the discord. We're also going to be running a dedicated ICC server on discord, which will go up when the site goes down.

Because you won't have access to the site, please make sure to back up your ICC miniprofiles for any characters you plan to ICC during the downtime.

In other (non-upgrade) news, we're running a private event this coming weekend. This will be a plot-heavy event that is the culmination of this past month's investigations. Players involved in this event have already been contacted, and a full summary of this event will be made available on Monday. Because elements of this event are intended to be secrets, please do not discuss what happens until Monday in order to maintain the element of surprise for other players!​
