Mochi was admittedly baffled by her chosen partner.
It was the twentieth of December, and all of the participants in the Secret Santa event had to give each other gifts. They all signed up either somewhere on campus or around town, and everyone was split up into pairs. Once the pairs were decided, papers were sent out to each participant describing their partner and that partner's preferences. Mochi Fukawa was one of the entries. She signed up for it because she wanted to make someone's holiday by giving them a thoughtful gift. She wanted to bring joy to those outside of her friend circles. She was just a good, kind person like that.
And they decided to give her a robot.
This was beyond awkward for Momo; she didn't really know what to do. She could easily get him a library card, but she wanted something more meaningful than that or at least in depth. She wanted something that she could plan out and somehow make happen. However, she didn't know what exactly the robot knew about. Should she share more about herself? Eh, that was a given. Should she give him information on either America or Japan? No, that still wasn't enough; besides, she wasn't sure where he was from. For all she knew, he already had files on Japan and California. Besides, that would make for a pretty boring gift. She needed something that would be fun.
Wait! What about an all-day tour/hangout?
That way she could teach him about Manta Carlos and also share various experiences with him. A robot as curious as he was would like to go out and have experiences, right? They could go to any restaurant and try out the cuisine; they could look at some of the quick holiday performances going on. They could even play video games at the arcade! Had he ever even been to an arcade?
In summary, she was giving him a library card, a map of Manta Carlos Island, and a tour with them going to various places on the map to explore and do things. That should work, right?
And if anything went wrong, Jouka was ready to choke a fool out.
