Kristin gazed curiously into the forbidden place. It didn't look too scary or intimidaing. But it was the first place she could think of to find someone of her kind.

Taking a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching, she walked in. It was a nice day, really. Birds chirping, sun shining... But the further she went in, the darker and quieter it became. Almost scary- but considering she could easily attack or escape most things she would encounter, it didn't worry her.

"Actually, this would make a rather nice hunting ground..." Kristin whispered quietly to herself when a skittish deer ran by. Seeing it reminded her of her almost constant hunger. She could satisfy it now. She silently hurried after the deer, and crouched near it, waiting.

((I know this is for Kitty, but Cat said I could join so yeah.))

—————————-

A little girl made her way through the forbidden area, blue-green eyes wide with fear. She clung to her teddy bear for almost life itself as she walked, trying to stay calm. She never should have come out here... it was dark and scary, and she didn't like it. Even back on the streets there had at least been street lamps, but out here, it was nearly pitch black.

She tripped over a tree root and let out a shriek, sniffling as she hit the ground. She had been through worse pain, but after not having to endure it for a while, she was becoming more like a child. Catherine slowly got to her feet and brushed herself off, looking at her red hands. There was no blood, but even so, it hurt.

She picked up her toy bear and continued on her way when a dear almost ran her over. She shrieked and fell backward again, tears now in her eyes. She sat up, wiping at her eyes and sniffling again.

"This is not my day," the seven year old vampire said sadly.

Kristin had been about to attack, but when she heard a noise behind her, she refrained, and slowly turned around. A little girl was sitting there crying, clutching a teddy bear, and it looked like she had fallen. She looked so much like Kristin's own sister, that she couldn't ignore the way her 'motherly' instincts showed up. Kristin slowly walked up, but didn't try to sound quiet. When she reached the girl, she got down to her knees. "Are you okay?" she asked.

When Catherine heard footsteps walking toward her, the young vampire looked up, little tears rolling down her cheeks. She sniffed, looking up at Kristin, even when she sat down. The older female was considerably taller than she was. She wiped her nose and eyes with the sleeve of her shirt and nodded her head, which caused a few locks of blonde hair to fall into her face.

"Yes," Catherine said, sharp fangs showing when she talked. "Do you know the way out of here?"

"Yeah. Come on. We'll go together." Kristin said, standing up, then holding out her hand. At least I hope I know the way out... Wow. First vampire I've ever met... And she's like, six. "I'm Kristin." She said smiling.

Catherine took Kristin's offered hand and pulled herself up, but she didn't let go of her hand. She didn't want to get lost in this place again, and letting go of the older female may cause them to get separated. "I'm Catherine," she told Kristin. "It's nice to meet you. Thank you for helping me." She gave the older girl a smile and waited for her to lead the way.

"Do you go to the academy?" she asked.

Kristin didn't mind holding her hand, in fact, she held it even tighter. "Well, its very nice to meet you Catherine. And I'm happy to help, anytime." She started to walk bsck towards where she had come in. It wasn't too hard, as the deer she was earlier following had left fresh prints. But suddenly, she was aware of other sounds- sounds she couldn't identify. So she pulled off slightly, so she couldn't be tracked. Just in case. "Yes, I go to the academy. Its my first day here. Do you?"

The noises hadn't been her, but it had indeed occured next to the elder, a rabbit had walked upon a branch and cracked it. She had been out on a stroll, wanting to at least feel somehwat younger for a little while, and this forest allways succeeded in the goal. It was many times older than herself and she could feel it. Next to it, she was a mere child.

The elder had been silent most of the time, enjoying the quiet of the forest and nature around her. Her black colored irises were looking around in child like joy, as she touched the bark of a tree here and frightened a tiny bird there. Nature was the most beautiful thing in the world and she knew how to appreciate it.

Then a sound took her slightly by surprise, there weren't humans in the forest usually at this time of the day. They were in classes or some such nonesense. Well, to her it was near the same level as nonsense since she had seen so much in her long years of life. sneaking behin dthe two young vampires, she took in their appearances.

There was a seven years old vampire and a teenaged one. Raising an eyebrow at the youngest one, she wondered who could have turned such a young child. Then it occured to her that Jira had been out hunting for potential vampires all around town and perhaps he had turned the girl.

Taking a quick whiff of their scent, she deduced that it was indeed the case, though she did not recognise the teenaged vampire. Sighing softly, she continued to look a bit more, giving a longing look at the small child. Her own daughter would have looked like that except with her trademark black hair instead of the blond the child-vampire sported.

Deciding to make her presence known, the elder took a step forward and purposily walked on a dry twig, producing a dry snapping sound for all to hear. Having sifficiently announced her arrival, she strode towards the two oh so very young vampires and lokked at them a small smile of both sadness and gentleness on her face.

''You should not be on these grounds, even if our kind wouldn't mind your presence that much, we aren't the only ones dwelling here and not all are friendly to vampires.'' She told quietly.

Then out of a spur of the moment isnpiration, she crouched to the youngest girl's height, levelling her eyes to the child's. It was rare seing so calm and at peace or even gentle, but here she was, being nice to a young vampire child.

''And who might you be?''

Kristin hated the way her heart sped up nervously. A vampire, an elder at that. She could tell just by looking at her. But Kristin didn't take critism well, and thats what the woman's comment about not being in the forest sounded like to her. "What in this forest could even stand a chance against a vampire. Other that a werewolf, who I'm sure we could outrun, we have no mortal enemies." She defended. Why was she staring at the little girl like that? It made her uneasy.

"Yes, I go to the academy. Its my first day here. Do you?"

"Yep, I go there!" Catherine replied in that same cheerful tone. However, upon hearing a twig snap, the girl froze and turned around to face Rayana. How come she hadn't sensed her approaching or something? Perhaps it was her age, since her other powers weren't that strong either for the same reason. Either way, she looked up at the taller, older, dark haired female, hiding half way behind Kristin.

''You should not be on these grounds, even if our kind wouldn't mind your presence that much, we aren't the only ones dwelling here and not all are friendly to vampires.''

The seven year old came out slightly. "I was lost!" she said, defending herself. It was really the only thing she could do to stop Rayana from getting mad or the like... or was she even mad in the first place? It didn't seem like it.

''And who might you be?''

Catherine watched as Rayana leaned down to her height, and now fully came out of her little 'hiding place' behind Kristin. She smiled; this lady seemed nice! "I'm Catherine!" she said, her 'R' making a 'W' sound because of her childish accent. "Who are you?"
