He stood outside the forbidden forest, his glowing eyes looking in. Orion wanted to know about his creator, and why he'd made him. One of Valorian's old notebooks mentioned the forbidden forest, that he'd spent time in there.

Pulling out said notebook, he skimmed over the pages, looking for anything he might have missed. He wasn't really worried about the monsters inside, his body self repairs. So taking a breath, he started walking in.

Amelia was on her way back to her dorm, which she shared with her boyfriend, after class. The day had been mediocre; nothing out of the ordinary or relatively interesting happened. She was looking forward to snuggling up with Orion and watching a movie or something along those lines.

Turning down the corridor to her dormitory, Amelia spied Orion leaving. She didn't know exactly where he was going, but if her suspicions were correct, she wouldn't like where he was heading. Turning herself invisible, Amelia followed after her boyfriend.

She was right: he had headed back to the forbidden forest. On numerous occasions, he would return with bruises or worse. After time upon time of her attempts to deter him, he always returned, longing for answers. She knew that any damage would heal rapidly but she hated to see him injured. The feeling that the two had to protect each other would never leave her.

As Orion started to make his way into the murky thicket, Amelia became visible once again, grasping his wrist and said: "Orion." One word but the pain and worry seeped through it. Neither of them knew the extent of his regeneration and she did not want to find it out.

He looked back startled as his wrist was grabbed and a familiar voice called out to him. "Anelia?" she'd caught him, followed via invisibility, "what are you doing?" Orion turned to face her, his arms crossing over his chest, "I was..uh....," clearing his throat he glanced at the forest.

"Why'd you follow me?" His glowing eyes looked at her, he wanted to find out more about Valorian, but he didn't want her pulled into a possibly dangerous situation. He glanced back at the forest, his previous searches had brought up nothing, no sign of any of his old experiments.

"Listen, I'm fine, you shouldn't worry," he could regenerate most injuries, an eye would only take a day to reform. "I'll be back out in a bit," he understood that she worried, that it showed that she cared.

"I could ask you the same thing," she replied, her eyes drifting between him and the edge of the forest. Amelia knew that his healing factor was remarkable but she didn't want him to test the limits of it. An injury like decapitation may be something he could never come back from. "I followed you because I knew you were going to do something stupid." Her hands moved to either side of his face. "I don't want you to go in there again. Please." She added, a slight tone of desperation in her voice.

She knew it was pointless trying to prevent him from doing it. It was like he craved answers and he thought that the forbidden forest was the only place he could seek them. Amelia tried to see it from his point of view but every time, the worry crept back in again. Sighing, she said: "You're not going in there alone." That was something she wasn't going to accept a no for. "If I can't dissuade you, then I'm coming with you," she told him, her hand interlocking with his.

"No you're not," he told her, sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose, "I don't really know what I'm looking for...just read that Valorian spent time in there." He'd sigh his eyes looking toward the forest, "maybe I thought I'd find something."

He sometimes wondered if he'd ever be able to find more about why he was created, beyond what Valorian had told him. "You know my body self repairs if anything goes wrong, and I can usually avoid the creatures," he didn't even really want to go in there, but he often felt purposeless. "Go home, I'll be back shortly"

He'd look to her, knowing she wouldn't give in, that she'd keep trying to convince him to either not go in or to let her go with him.

"Not happening," she told him. Her decision was final: if he would not listen to her, then there was no way that she was letting him go alone. She knew that she was being as stubborn as he was but she cared too much about him to let him risk his life. Amelia's hands drifted to Orion's, her eyes looking longingly into his. She saw that nothing she could say would change his mind.

Hiding the worry, she floated off towards the edge of the forest. Wearing a smile, she called after him to follow her, a hand outstretched expectantly. There was no need for him to worry about her; she was already dead after all. At least this way, she fealt that she could fight any obstacles side by side with him and protect him.
