An older college student had told him about them, about the wish granters who operated in the shadier parts of the city. So he'd enter such a part, a hood pulled over his head, snow crunching under his boots as he made his way through.

He'd stop at a fork in the road, double checking the address on his phone before continuing on. Apparently the being he sought was a child of Mephistopheles trying to get into the family business. The bandaged boy would stop as he spotted the demon.

Said demon wore a cheap red suit, had wild black hair, had a barbed tail that twirled in one hand. He spotted Rowan and would flash a sharp toothed grin. "I can sense desire coming from you," he'd say with a chuckle, "what's you're pleasure?" @Abbysaurus

Mal was worried about where Rowan was going, but she wasn't going to jump in without knowing whether or not he was actually in danger. Unfortunately, he was in danger. From someone in a family Malicia would really rather not have an encounter with, too.
She didn't want to jump in right away. She still wanted to believe that Rowan would end up making the right choice and changing his mind about this, so she stayed back and out of the way in her imp form, just watching for the time being.

Rowan didn't say anything at first, he wasn't sure what to say, how to say it. "Uh.....y-yeah," he'd finally manage, clearing his throat, "you grant wishes?"

The demon would tilt his head, smirking. "That I do, can grant pretty much anything given you're willing to pay the proper price," he'd twirl his tail a bit, "but the best things are always worth the price."

Rowan would hesitate a moment. "Could....could you remove....like an eldritch parasite?" he'd ask, looking very nervous.

The demon would chuckle. "Now that is a big thing, but within my power," he'd say with a smirk. "I see a pretty big parasite in you though.......might cost you something big."

Rowan would take a step forward, feeling uncertain, wondering what that big thing could be.

No. Rowan, no. Malicia was practically screaming it at herself while she watched him walk forward towards the demon. She couldn't waste any more time. She had to act now. She flew down behind Rowan, transforming as she landed, and crossed her arms.
"Oh wow, I wonder how big a scandal it would be if a child of Mephistopheles got caught trying to con the soul off of a minor?" She mused loudly, her one eye locked on the other demon as she did. She wanted to get between him and Rowan, too, but she wasn't sure if she'd be going too far.

Rowan would actually jump a bit, turning to see her. "Mal?" he hadn't expected to see her here. "W-what are you doing?" there was no anger in his voice, just concern.

The demon raised an eyebrow at the girl. "What's wrong? Angry that he's looking at others to make deals with? he'd ask with a smirk. "What? You already got eyes on his soul?" He'd look at Rowan. "You gonna sell to her? She probably doesn't even know how to grant a proper wish."

"I don't take souls." She said, actually starting to step around in front of Rowan. Her face stayed strong but her legs were trembling slightly. "And I'm not going to let you take his. I'm going to help him without doing that."
That was, after all, what she was doing here. Making sure that Rowan didn't end up selling his soul. She really hadn't expected him to try and go to someone else, and on some level it stung a bit, but she was much more concerned with his safety.

The demon would sniff the air and step forward. "Don't take souls huh?" he'd grin heavily, "bet mommy and daddy are disappointed in their little girl." He'd chuckle a little. "Well...tell me.....would you give me your soul, if I promised to fix your little boyfriend?"

Rowan would step forward then. "No, you're not going to hurt her!" he'd say with a glare. "Leave her alone," he'd glare at the demon, his eyes glowing a little like fire.

The demon would snicker. "Fine, I'll let the little runt be," he'd snap his fingers, a business card appearing from a puff of smoke. "If you need me, just call," he'd vanish in cloud of smoke, the card falling to the ground.

"Mal....you ok?" Rowan would ask, turning to her, laying his hand on her shoulder.

She zapped the card with her lightning eyes before it even managed to hit the ground. Then, quickly, she turned and hugged Rowan tight. "What were you doing?" She asked. On the surface she sounded like she might be angry, but under that she was scared. Very scared.
She shook her head, mindful not to gore him on her horns as she pulled back enough to look up at him. "Rowan.. your soul might have damage, but you are worth more than that." She said, her voice barely more than a whisper.

He'd flinch a bit when she incinerated the card. "I....I just...have to look at all options," he'd say with a sigh, rubbing his eyes. "Sitting at home.....just...not finding stuff that works....I just can't do that anything."

The boy looked tired, very tired, he hadn't been sleeping well.

Rowan would pause. "Am I?" he'd ask, a bit of sadness in his voice. "Damaged soul.....covered in burns," he'd snort. "I'm literally just damaged goods," he'd sigh. "I don't see how I can be worth much."

"You're nice to me." She said quietly. She didn't know how to address the rest. She didn't have an argument. She knew he couldn't just sit around and wait for her to figure out how to help him, but there had to be better options than this. She held onto his sleeve again and started to tug him away out of the alley.
"Let's... can we go someplace else to talk about it? Somewhere nicer?" She asked, still pulling him along aimlessly.
