Why are you so nice? Hmm...
His mind wandered for just a bit...

"Saint Corona?" The young woman asked, looking up at him. Corona looked down towards her and smiled.
"Yes, Milady Arwen? I trust all is well?" He folded his arms inside the plain white kimono. The very kimono Arwen had hand-made for him just the day before.
"I see you're still wearing my kimono... The fact that a Guardian is wearing something I made is quite an honor, you know." Arwen laughed and blushed. "But, I would understand if you wanted to change out of it. Wouldn't your - what was it called? A Guardian's Cloak? - Wouldn't that be more proper for someone of your esteem? I wouldn't think my mundane cloth would be able to hold off a demon!" She looked away from him, down at the waters of the lake they stood beside.
Corona blinked and looked down at himself. "The Cloak of the Guardian is merely a representation of our Will." He explained. "It protects us because we will for it to do so. Considering as much, one would come to the conclusion that a gift, infused with the love of the one that created it, would protect just as well, yes?" He smiled and bowed to her politely, his white feathery angel wings spreading out behind him. "I withhold no intention to ever replace such a thoughtful gift, Milady."
"W-what?" Arwen stumbled back. "You're going to wear my gift.. forever? But... I didn't make it nearly well enough! I'm just an apprentice..."
Corona looked back at her and simply smiled. "Perhaps Milady simply requires more faith within herself, yes?"
Arwen grumbled, her face even more red now. The human girl still couldn't believe that an angel would even be willing to accept her gift - let alone be willing to wear it forever. Surely he was just trying to make her feel better. Yet somehow, she couldn't help but believe that he was telling the truth. "Why are you so nice...?" She couldn't help but ask.
That was the last night Corona would ever see the girl alive.

Once they were outside, Alistair finally decided to answer Avian's question. "One does not require a reason to assist another." He stated plainly after the long, awkward pause that had occurred between them. It was the truth, of course. He couldn't really imagine it being any other way. It wasn't like he expected anything in return.
Insert montage of Alistair trying to help various people, and many women beating the tar out of him in assumption that he was just trying to "get" with them.
It was possible that many of the birds which normally avoided Avian when she was with other people would be less hesitant around her despite Alistair being nearby. This was, of course, because animals could sense the difference in Alistair's spirit even though most humans could not do so. While they wouldn't be any where near as friendly with him as they typically were with her, most animals would usually at least tolerate Alistair's presence.
It wouldn't be long before they reached the entrance to the girls' dormitory.
