Not particularially smart in the ways of science herself, Misery walked through the door to the science classroom, seating herself in the front. It was common knowledge that if you sat in the back, the teachers would call on you, and Misery didn't enjoy being called on. She liked wandering in her own thoughts, paying attention with a tiny part of her mind.

Brushing a lock of her dark brown hair out of her eyes, Misery placed her hands on her science textbook on the table, staring around the strange, yet familiar classroom. Having been in this academy since last year, Misery knew most people, but not all. She hardly even talked to the ones she knew, just kind of figuring out who they were and what their powers were by what they did in the halls and cafeteria and the such.

Opening her science book, Misery calmly looked through it until she found a page on weather, and how science had to do with weather.

"There's no science in me..." murmured Misery.

Elinor ran in the class, and sat down next to Misery. She didn't want to be late, mostly because if the teacher; Mr. Papercut. She knew it would be a while before class started, but to her he was the meanest teacher in the entire school.

She took out her books, and turned to the correct page. Elinor looked at Misery, and smiled. She was usually shy around people she didn't know, but seeing as she didn't know many people, she spoke. "Hi..."

Maria walked into class and sat down. Let's just get this over with. She then saw the other two girls that were in the class and Maria smiled at them both.

Misery turned to Elinor and smiled, "Hello," she said, particularily pleasant today, or so it seemed since she had told herself, sternly, that she wasn't a matter of science. "I'm Misery, Misery Rain,"

Tiger walked into Science class 5 minutes early carrying a yellow polka dotted backpack. She sat down a few desks away from three other girls and pushed her sunglasses on top of her head, which pulled hair out of her face. She sat at her desk for 30 seconds, and decided she was bored. There's always time for drawing," Tiger thought. She reached into her backpack and pulled a piece of paper and a pencil out. Tiger began drawing cartoon versions of her and her best friend at home. "Why can't I ever get they eyes right?" she asked herself out loud.

Maria saw Tiger come into the class and sit down. She looked over at what she was doing. "That looks good." Maria said.

"Thanks, but I've done better. I think I'm getting worse!" Tiger said. She smiled. "You really think this looks good?"

"Yes I do. You are great! I wish I could draw like that." Maria said.

Tiger shrugged off Maria's compliment. "Thanks, but I'm really not that good. You should see some of my friends!" Tiger changed the subject. "So, how are you?"
