Schrödinger Lovegrimm

Schrödinger stands at 4'5'' and weighs only about 61 lbs. His skin is pale but sunburnt at the shoulders, and he's got band-aids stuck onto long fingers. He has fluffy, light cream-blonde hair that curls around his small ears, framing a delicate face. Bright red-amber eyes peer out from behind long lashes and are usually bright with excitement. He's still young and hasn't developed much muscles, but he can carry around the porcelain vases for Grandma and put away the pans after they've been washed.

Schrödinger especially likes the hooded jacket Grandma made for him during New Years. It's nicely quilted on the inside, golden constellations sewn into navy fabrics. He wears it all the time. Other than that, Schrödinger wears whatever his grandparents give him (which are mostly well handmade clothes mixed with an occasional brand buy). If it's cold, long sleeves and pants. If it's hot, shirt and shorts.





Personality Description:


• He firmly believes that he is a normal human being, and that the ability to sprout extra teeth, eyes, and appendages is what human kids do. No one has yet to prove him otherwise.

• He's very optimistic, but enjoys conflict because, deep down, he finds it kind of amusing and satisfying. Schrödinger would never say this aloud because Grandpa often talks about how much he doesn't like war.

• Can come off as emotional, but is actually quite apathetic. Schrödinger doesn't know how he feels about apathy.

• Schrödinger would do anything for his "grandparents", or any older figure he deems a good person.

• Naive, but can sometimes tell lying when he sees it. Sometimes. Rarely?

• Doesn't know math, but understands a little on how to read and write. He knows the alphabet and that's it. (Needs to get some education.) This causes him to get frustrated during some situations.

• If someone close to him dies, Schrödinger would not respond with grief, but with confusion and anger. Beware of tantrums should this happen.




Powers:

Schrödinger has the ability to create Boxes. They are floating colorful cubes that he can create and store things in. There is no lid, so everything that needs to go inside is just...shoved in. The Box only grows to be around one cubic foot of space so nothing larger than a foot in width or height can be put inside. Anything alive will not survive in the Boxes and will be eaten by the Boxes.

Schrödinger is the only one able to and create these Boxes. Once a Box is created, it can be "put away", and later "dismissed" once Schrödinger is done with it. He can summon the Boxes he "put away", but cannot recreate Boxes he's "dismissed". Each new Box is a different color.

If Schrödinger is depraved of just one sense (i.e. he can't hear anything because he is in a completely silent room) he is forced to "dismiss" all the Boxes he's created. Schrödinger can only create and maintain three boxes at once, but as soon as he loses the ability to do so, the Boxes, as well as anything inside of them, disappear and are lost forever.

(The sensory deprivation weakness doesn't include blindfolds because he can still open his eyes and see the inside of the blindfold. Duct tape, or any other thing that forces him to keep his eyes shut would work.)

Because he has his Boxes, he doesn't carry around bags.






Species Abilities:

As an eldritch, Schrödinger will occasionally sprout a few extra limbs when frightened or irritated, even in human form. The most common are eight ghostly, black tentacles that sport a few extra eyes and teeth (maximum of three sets of each per tentacle). These appendages form incorporeal but can take physical form with much effort, as it takes considerable amounts of concentration for him to keep them in this plane of existence.

The years pass by differently for him. Schrödinger has not yet physically aged since the day of his creation, and will (most likely) not physically age drastically in the following decade. Eldritch can live for a very, very long time, forever in some cases, and being a newborn means he's got a whole lot of time ahead of him.

Eldritch Form: A 5 ft tall blob of shadow with six hand-footed legs, one set of dripping wings, a gaping wolfish maw, and a pair of empty eye sockets. A long, thick tail trails behind him, equipped with three teeth-y mouths. Glowing, red-orange eyes litter his body, none of them blinking. When happy, he makes contented purring noises that sounds like knives clattering in the sink. He's expected to grow larger with age.

Schrödinger's Corruption: Schrödinger is so young, being around him will cause absolutely no ill affects. It may be a different story in a few centuries though, depending on how his life plays out.








Schrödinger has amnesia. This newly born, confused little eldritch accidentally tripped on the day he was created and fell through multiple dimensions, hitting his head hard when he landed in this one. The impact nearly shattered the inter-dimensional being.

The place of his landing turned out to be where Grandma and Grandpa live. They did admit they were a bit surprised when a newborn eldritch fell through the plane of existence and into their metaphorical laps. But they weren't heartless monsters and decided it was best to take care of this baby until his body at least took corporeal form. (Apparently, they got attached(?))

The next eight years progressed with domesticity. The only hiccup was that Grandpa, the elder that told Schrödinger to call him Gramps at some point, didn't trust all the "shoddy educations" and elected Schrödinger be homeschooled. Grandma relented, but added that it was only to be until his age reaches two digits. Schrödinger had no idea what that meant at the time. (He still doesn't really. He pretends, sure, but he doesn't really know. What's a digit?)

But! School! At the start of next year, Schrödinger will be able to attend school for the very first time. He's very excited.

Additional Information:
Schrödinger lives with two "grandparents" no one has ever seen, much less know anything about. Schrödinger himself does not know their names, and only refers to his two elderly guardians as "Grandma" and "Grandpa". Some might also begin to wonder if Schrödinger actually lives alone in the tiny, back-alley house with a rotting roof. The windows never light up from lights inside, and not even stray animals venture close.

Amnesia heavily handicaps him as an eldritch, as it is now impossible for Schrödinger to hop dimensions. He has forgotten how.

(More on the Lovegrimm House: it is cold, dark, and drafty, with the only brightly colored things being Schrödinger's clothes, and plants grow in the gutters. But to Schrödinger it might as well be a palace.)
