My character Vadim Lahti isn't exactly the nicest or most stand up guy at the academy. To make a comparison, he'll probably turn into the next Al Capone or Lucky Luciano, but for now, he's content with cheating people out of their money at faro, poker, or blackjack... Which brings me to this plot idea:
Every couple weeks or so, Vadim holds a small stakes (about $200 max) game of Texas Hold 'em in the student lounge open to whoever walks up to the table (and has the cash). Now, as mentioned above, he's cheats a lot, via sleight of hand and card counting.
Fellow students wanting to play (and lose their money) or watch are welcome, and any teachers who might try to bust up the whole thing are definitely in demand!
And did I forget to mention that Vadim packs a pistol under his vest? If things get rather rough, count on his gun making an appearance...
