Ambrose had found himself from place to place today, never truly resting in one spot. His feet had a slow, dull ache to them now, probably the result of said wandering. Still, he was glad he had gotten to see the place that he would now call home. People sure seemed to treat him better here than they had back at his old home. Not that he had met many people, but there was no longer the familiar burn of eyes on his back wherever he went. No longer voices shouting at him. No longer an air filled with pure hate. Instead, the air was clean and clear, and he could breath free, something he'd been longing to do for...however long now. He'd almost lost count of how long it'd been. His age was barely relevant anymore. He had been to focused on survival to really care for much else. Time flew when you were saving your own skin from bible thumpers and great messengers of god.

Ambrose let out a small, weary sigh and laid back, resting his head in his hands and watching the sun set, the sky painted now with shades of orange and red. It was a beautiful sight, really. One that Ambrose could appreciate in full. He had always found some sort of peace in the dying shades the sun cast on the sky, almost like final words from the sun, before it would inevitably die out, only to rise again like a phoenix from it's ashes, streaking the sky with colors of it's new birth, much alike it's former death.

Bah, he was thinking deeply again. Still, there seemed to be no one around, and it's not like anyone would be able to tell what he was thinking. So what did it matter? Quiet time to enjoy wasn't often found for him, so he would take what he could get. Of course, he would normally reflect on his life, try to count his errors and scars, but this was no time for such thoughts and the count was often to high to remember. So, he would settle, for now at least, for simply laying on his back staring to the sun as it fell beneath the horizon, a simple smile gracing his face.

Lucy slowly walked up the stairs to the rooftop. What a day that had been. The teacher had yelled at her, and then she had gotten dentition for 2 hours afterwards for yelling back. Sighing she opened the door slightly, seeing if there was anyone in sight. "Okay." She said to herself calmly. Stretching as she closed the door behind her, she leaned forward on the edge of the roof. Not nothing exactly what she was looking for, she turned her head to see another person with her on the roof. "Um, hi there." She got a bit closer to the other person, but stopped a few meters away from them. "Why are you up here even?"

Ambrose's peace and quiet was interrupted by a girl's voice, give or take a few meters away from him. His thoughts briefly wondered just why someone else was up here, when the girl asked him the exact same question. Turning to face her, as well as sitting up, Ambrose's smile wouldn't falter when he answered.

"I'm just...here. Enjoying the view, pondering deep thoughts, and the like. Plus, it's very peaceful and quiet up here. Why are YOU up here?" Ambrose would say, looking curiously at the girl, taking a moment to study her before she answered, if she did.

Looking at him with a scowl as he turned around to face her, she crossed her arms tight as she listened to him. He didn't seem to be in a bad mood, which was weird for her to see. Most of the time, her tone of voice was enough to set people off, to want to fight her or to at least make her shut up. As he said his reasons, she flashed her teeth in his direction in a smirkish grin. "I'm up here because I don't see anyone telling me I can't be." Sighing lightly a she relaxed her arms a bit, she continued. "Though your reasons are much better then mine I would say."

Ambrose would grin and give off a slight laugh at the girl's reason for being here on the roof. She seemed like the kind of girl that would enjoy being a sort of rebel. However, she saw his reasons as better than hers. Well, that was something he didn't quite like. There really was no such think as a better reason, was there? Or...maybe there was. Her reason wasn't that strong, but...it was still a reason.

"Ah, a rebel. How refreshing. And... I wouldn't say that. Your reason is just as good as mine. Now, are you just going to stand there, or are you going to sit and relax? I'd rather like to know if this conversation's going to continue, or if it just happened out of the blue and is gonna die off." Ambrose would say, a lazy, carefree smile never leaving his face. He was having fun with this...

Blinking a few times, she wasn't sure what to think. This reason for being up here actually made sense, as hers seemed stupid. She snarled a bit at him as he thought of her as a rebel. In a few ways she was, as it seemed that she would rather skip school or be somewhere where she wasn't supposed to be then not. She wasn't the type of person to party though, as she wasn't into drugs, alcohol or smoking. Snarling a bit more at her own thoughts, she closed her eyes and sighed lightly as she realized that she had worked herself up for nothing. "I hardily ever relax around strangers." She said coldly, she though she decided to sit on the ground, where she was standing. "So don't expect me to come and cuddle you or something." She said with a grin as she looked at him.

Ambrose's grin fell when he noticed the girl making faces, almost to herself. She looked angry about...something. Was it something he had said that had pushed a button? She seemed to get ticked off fairly easy, so he would have to watch his words around her. But with what she said next, he really couldn't help himself, could he? It was all just too tempting. Ambrose's grin would make it's way back on his face, and his arm would morph, becoming the swirled crimson and black pattern that it seemed no one was used to. Maybe his powers were different, after all. Ambrose's hand would catch fire, a small, warm blaze taking place in his hand. The girl's tone before had been cold and uncaring, and he damn well planned to take full advantage of that.

"Aww, come on, Rebel girl. I can hear the cold bite in your voice. Sure you don't wanna come cuddle? I can make it warm..." Ambrose would say, before bursting out with laughter. He was expecting some kind of retaliation, but god, that was worth it and then some.

Looking at him, as it seemed that something was going on with his arm, and his smile, she looked away. He wasn't going to get to her, no matter what he tried to pull on her. It wouldn't work. Tightening her arms together as they were still crossed, she bared no attention to him as it seemed he was trying to get her attention. Her head shot back in the direction of him as he finally talked to her. "Why would I ever do that?" She said as she laughed right at him. "You wish. Like I would just want to cuddle with some freak like me. I don't know anything about you, nor do I plan to if you think that's really what I want." His laugh caught her by surprise, almost scaring her in a way. Was he mocking her? Usually, she would either be te tough on, or the one that would be flirting. It seemed that she would have to play the tough role, which she had mastered.

As he recovered from his laughing fit, Ambrose had a few things to think over. The girl had seemingly looked away, not seeing the fire he had created, and not seeing his arm change. But what she said struck him. Freak like me That was a strange thing to say, and from what he could see not at all true. But she seemed genuinely pissed, so he would need to diffuse the situation, and fast. He didn't need this girl thinking he was just some immature flirtatious ass that was trying to get with her.

"Okay, okay, I took that too far. I was joking, alright? I don't even know you, why would I try and flirt with you? Not that you're not pretty, attractive, whatever you wanna call it, i'm just not the kinda person to try and get with a girl when i've just met them. So, sorry, I took that joke too far. I don't think that's what you want at all, trust me. And if anyone's the freak here, it's me. You don't seem like any kind of freak, and that's the wrong word in the first place. If you're different, you're special. Gifted. Blessed. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Ambrose would say, taking on a serious face as he went on his rant. He wanted to fix this situation, he didn't want a bad reputation, and he didn't want people thinking he was what he wasn't.
