Sleep didn't come easy to Wednesday. It hadn't for a long time, but recent events had only worsed the issue.
She paced in her room, the magic sigils that kept her fully inoculated from the outside world glowing strong as ever. She couldn't even focus on her research, the last incident still burning fresh in her mind. Her phone screen still blinked with the notifications from her coven and everyone else, but she hadn't checked since her first message. This was her mistake, her problem, they shouldn't need to bother themselves with her mistakes. But every time she look at her phone she felt something gnawing at her, her gut twisting more and more before she couldn't ignore it anymore.
She scrolled through her few phone contacts.
The surviving members of the Verdun witch clan had agreed not to contact each other unless the situation was dire, thinking that they might be safer from the being that hunted them all of they didn't know each other's whereabouts. There was so much about the entities they didn't understand, for all they knew this extra security was pointless, but Wednesday was nothing if not thorough and she didn't want to take any risks. But she still had a number.
She stared at the number for a long time with her tired, blearly eyes, and after a moment of weakness she started to type.
