Sark was still there, yet he also wasn’t. One moment, he was on his apartment floor with Shul, next he is crumpled in a corridor in front of Georgia. It was switching too much for him to keep up. He turned to looking the ground, his head shaking. “No... no no no nonono.” He kept of muttering no as he shook his head.

He felt himself grow defensive. He already hated that he flinched when Shul touched him, but this was different. “Please... Leave. Shul, please. I know you won’t want to but I swear I will carry you outside and lock the door if you don’t.” He sounded serious but absolutely terrified.

It was because half of himself saw Shul. Half of himself knew he was having a lapse, and desperately tried to crawl towards some kind of light. But the other half still believed it was real. That was the dangerous half. He held Shul’s hands tight. “Please leave. You’ll get hurt. Everyone I love gets hurt...” He unconsciously held the cloth, still in his hand, a bit tighter.

Never had Shul been so conflicted about something. He heard Sark's pleas loud and clear, and he wanted to do as he wished and leave. But another part of Shul that was as big, if not bigger, than the part that wanted to leave was the part that had the biggest amount of dragon in it. This part wanted to stay no matter what, even if Shul had to fight Sark in order to stay by his side. But Shul wasn't a fighter, he knew it, and he couldn't turn into a dragon. He would crush this building and the ones surrounding it. But if he sprouted his wings and claws then maybe...
Dear lord, was Shul actually considering fighting Sark right now?
Shul gritted his teeth and his hands on Sark started to shake again, from anger, frustration, sadness. Concern.

"Please Sark, don't make me leave you..."
These words were not but a whisper, said with frustration and worry, and Shul couldn't stop one tear escaping his eye. Just one tear, and it fell unceremoniously on the floor and disappeared. Shul stared at the spot where it had disappeared and then looked at Sark. He was dead serious.
Shul let out a strangled gasp, struggling to find the words. His voice sounded terrified too, but determined.
"I don't even know if you can hear me anymore, or if my words are powerful enough. But know that you will have to force me through that door to make me leave, even if it hurts me. Because Sark, I am already hurt. Because when you hurt, I hurt too. Just as much. When the people I love hurt it hurts me. That is how I am. And that is how you are. That is one reason why I love you."
Shul sighed a little and let his head slump a bit. He didn't know how Sark would react but he mentally prepared himself for any possible scenario. All except Sark just snapping back. Shul knew that wasn't possible. Not in this situation, not anymore.

His vision was going crazy. It constantly changed scenes. But every time he changed back to his own reality, he saw Fear again. The half that knew what was going on tried to calm the rest of himself down but he couldn’t stop the anger that boiled in him. When he looked at Shul, during those brief moments when the scene changed again, he saw a monster.

He dropped his hands to his sides, now clenched tightly into fists. He still held the fabric in his left hand. “Please. It’s too bad Shul... I’ll be fine, I just need a few hours. But please.” He pleaded. He was genuinely pleading for Shul to leave as he continued to feel defensive.

A memory flashed into his mind, and the scene stopped changing. He clenched his hands tighter. “Get. Out.” His voice was quiet but had so much threat to it. There was this pure anger and fear which just seemed strangely calm. He wasn’t taking no for an answer, it would appear.

His words weren't strong enough. Shul wasn't strong enough. Shul listened to Sark's words and they felt like bullets. Each hit a fatal organ and left Shul bleeding to death. The fear and anger directed at Shul were like poison. Shul knew very well how both bullets and poison felt, since he had experienced both. But for Sark Shul was ready to withstand them, to withstand anything.
Shul had known it wouldn't be easy. He had known Sark wasn't fine, he had known that. But of course it hurt when it actually happened. Shul clenched his teeth again, keeping the tears at bay. Time for those was later. Now it was time for rational thought.
Shul wasn't stupid and he knew Sark's lapse was too bad to be stopped before it had ran its course. That hadn't stopped Shul from trying. He still wanted to try, despite his sense coming in the way. But Shul stood up, holding back on the urge to hug or touch Sark. Who knew how he would react to that.
Shul walked backwards to the door, keeping his eyes on Sark. But Shul didn't leave right away. He took in Sark in this state, ingrained it in his mind. Shul knew he would see Sark again like this, probably many times. But Shul was ready for that. He wasn't giving up. Because the one thing Shul had going for him was positiveness. Foolish, baseless positiveness, as his sister would say. But his positiveness had a base. Shul wanted to make him and Sark work. No matter what.
"I will wait outside."
Shul said this with a gentle but determined tone. He would wait outside, even if he had to wait whole night. But before Shul stepped out he looked at Sark, and though he wasn't sure what he was seeing or hearing, Shul wanted his last words to be comforting.
"I love you, weirdo."
With that Shul stepped outside, waiting.

Sark desperately wanted to respond to Shul, but he couldn’t. Another severe memory took its place and he almost curled up on the floor again. He forced himself to stand, using the wall next to him as support. He walked over to the door, getting awful memories of the last time he saw Amne.

The last time he saw Amne, he had locked him out so he wouldn’t get killed. This felt similar. He locked the door to his apartment, and slid down with his back to it. He didn’t want to hurt Shul, but he knew the place he was would’ve made him attack Shul.

He hugged his arms around him and leant forward, his gaze casted to the ground. “I love you. I love you so much.” He muttered quietly to himself. He didn’t want Shul to see him this way. So he braced for what was to come and just sat there.
