She took his compliments with a gentle, somewhat shy smile. He was nice, and she appreciated that. People who were nice to her generally went down in her book as good people, people that she could be comfortable around. It always took her a while to open up, but when someone was nice to her, it certainly helped.

Nessie tilted her head at him as he made the offer to open up a telepathic link between them so they could better communicate with each other. She wasn't sure about it at first, so she considered it carefully. Was there a down side to this? Would he be able to read her thoughts all the time? She was a rather private person, preferring to keep things to herself, but...he was nice, and she was going to give him a chance.

After careful consideration, Nessie shrugged and nodded.

Closing his eyes, he took a small breath as the telepathic link was formed, "hello" he thought to her with a small chuckle. "I...don't do this often honestly," he opened his eyes, they glowed a bit with gratitude.

"You're....the first person here I've really talked to here," well besides a few teachers, "things here are so different....but I'm happy we came." In truth, he hadn't had a real conversation with anyone in a long time.

His tail slowly swayed and his small smile didn't fade, she seemed so kind. He took another step forward, he often small even though he was pretty average height, he was just barely taller than her.

His voice rang in her head, but his lips hadn't moved. She blinked. It was an odd feeling, having someone in your head like that. Hello, she responded, sending the thought to him and wondering if it worked both ways like he'd said it should.

Nessie's head tilted a little as she listened to him and turned his thoughts over in her head. It was a bit much to take in at once. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not, but she supposed at the very least it was easier than taking the time to write out whatever she wanted to say, despite her general lack of interest in conversation in the first place.

Morning was upon them now. Nessie had finished her artwork before the sunrise had gone away, at least. She packed up her things and started to reach for her pencil when she realized she could just sent the thoughts to him, and glanced at Edward. I'm going to get some breakfast. Would you like to join me?

Breakfast? He hadn't eaten today, the doctors were letting him eat solids again. He opened his mouth to answer, but his stomach did instead, with loud growl. Edward blushed, but then gave a shy smile, "yeah, breakfast sounds good."

An odd turn of events, he'd made a friend it seems, his first in a long time. Now he'd get to see where it all goes, he had a new life and a new home.
