Cairo allowed herself to be lifted, too weak to have been walking on her own still. She mused about what he said. He couldn't possibly be that attached to her already. That was... He had to be lying. Over exaggerating. It hurt to hear him say things like that. She was quiet as Iaemor searched for clothes, watching him search through every single drawer and clothes hanger for something that would fit. Cairo didn't bother covering up with the sheets. There was nothing to see on her chest to begin with, so it wasn't like that would bother him. Maybe.

She didn't fail to note the hungry look in his eyes as she accepted the clothes with a mumbled thank you. Maybe there was something there to bother him in her scrawny form. With that taken into account, she hurriedly dressed herself, borrowed clothes hanging loosely.

"Please don't lie to me. In the grand scheme of things, my happiness is completely irrelevant to yours. I'm human, and expendable. Wooing me is just a passing fancy of yours."

Iaemor tried not to watch as she dressed. Instead finally turning his head away only for it to snap back at her words. He wasn't shocked to be called a liar. It wouldn't be the last time, but to say he couldn't care abount another was judging him. Moving towards her his hand gently took her wrists. Pushing her down against the bed gently and looking down into her eyes. He didn't make any further advance beyond that instead talking a seriously look in his eyes.

"Does something that is transient. Simply mean less. Do the lifes effected by it mean nothing. Does that artist master piece not matter in those it inspires. Even I shall not last forever, and to others the same logic could be used to call me expendable. However no matter what I will have changed the lives of those around me. Just like you." He breathed afterward slightly heavily, talking to much in one go and awaiting him being smacked or hit for havaing pushed her down, even though he hadn't made any advance beyond it.

"Does happiness become meaningless just because it may not last for eternity." He added and let go of her wrists and rolled over to land on his back next to her side. Half expecting for him to have screwed up.

Cairo froze as he took her wrists, gently pining her beneath him. She'd dug herself a hole that she couldn't get out of. He wasn't wrong. Infact, he was entirely in the right. Iaemor was upset. She'd expected that. What she didn't expect, was how much it would hurt. Cairo sat up, not looking at Iaemor.

"I don't want to see you agian. I'll... Find some way to get the clothes back to you."

Cairo stood up and struggled to the door, pausing to say one last thing before returning to the living room to gather her things.

"I'll be dead in ten years. No more than that."

Was Iaemor going to allow her to simply run away once more. Keep watching her push him away because of her fears. By the name of hell he was not. As Cairo stopped at the door of his bedroom in order to say one last thing. Iaemor was already following quickly and sliding an arm passed her and putting his hand on the door frame to block her path.

"More like one day if you go out in the cold so soon. You need more rest." Protective urge kicking in once more. "You know I won't ignore you...and you don't want me to. Please don't keep trying to push me away. You'll find that we can both be stubborn as heck it seems." Not the best lanague he could have used but yes he was somewhat upset. However he was more worried that if he let her leave this time he wouldn't get another chance. "If you truely only have 10 years, then let them not be spent so alone."

Cairo sent a sharp look in Iaemor's direction. She tried to look angry. Tried to muster even the slightest bit of hatred for him. But all she found was despair, eyes full of tears. She knew there was no fighting him. He only spoke the truth.

But she could still run.

Cairo ducked under his arm, almost running down the stairs, nearly falling twice. She gathered everything of hers that was in sight, not even bothering to check for her phone. Half burried, it was unlikely that the demon had thought to grab it.

Her heart felt like it was going to explode in a bloody mess, shattering like glass under too much stress. She could hardly breathe. Except this wasn't stopping. The pain got worse and air caught in her throat like sticky gel. She knew what this was. It had happened when her aunt died. When the chemistry room exploded. When her father died. Heart attack.

Iaemor grunted in frustration as Cairo slipped under his arm and rushed from the room. His hand against the door frame, pulling away a fraction and slamming back against it in a fist. Not hard really, just another show of how he was annoyed, he had no desire to hit it hard enough and damage his own property. He pulled a hand back again, sliding over his hair and trying to calm down. Giving her a head start, as he tried to gather himself.

Having calmed a little, Iaemor huffed out a large breath and pushed himself off after her. Having delayed slightly, she was heading for the door as he reached the top of the stairs. Aiming to catch her before she was able to leave, he leap down the flight of stairs. "Please don't leave." He said simply, no more words that could show he was upset, or angry. Just the simply request for her to stay as he reached her turned her to look at him by placing a band on her shoulder.

It was then he would see that pained expression on her face, mixed in with how she herself was upset hard to see if it was just because she was upset or unwell that caused it. He didn't expect her to be upset, angry at him but not upset. Nor did the he know why she was hurting thinking it was only the cold that set off her ill health. "What is wrong?" He asked cocerned for her health once more, so soon after her most recent scare.

White hot pain flashed in her brain with each erratic heartbeat, blinding her with the overwhelming input. She could feel her consciousness slipping, fighting to keep herself aware. Bracelet. Where was it. Which arm. Was it still there? Where...

Cairo's chain of thought ceased as something warm and very heavy came down on her shoulder. Iaemor. He couldn't save her from this one. Her knees buckled beneath her, collapsing into his arms with another blinding shock of pain. Cairo fumbled at her wrists, seeking out the medical alert bracelet. It was here somewh- There. Right there. She barely managed to push the button in far enough, but the light blinked on. Gps tracking. They'd know where she was. They would be here soon.

"Don.... Don't let.... Go..."

Iaemor eyes widened in the starts of panic as Cairo collasped into his arms. Not sure what was wrong, if was due to her time in the cold or something else completely. Panic growing further as he started to realise how his lack of knowledge about the islands medical system was coming back to bite him. Pull her to his chest not having a clue what to do except to follow her words and not let go. Leaning up against the wall, he let his body slide down to the floor slowly. Gently bring her to rest against him as he racked his brain for some way to help.

Then it occured to him, while he didn't know about the islands medical system that didn't mean others he knew did not. "It will be okay." He told her and slipped one hand from her in order to get his phone out. His hand was shaking slightly which mad it more difficult to type, but one by one Iaemor sent texts to each of those from his homeworld that worked on his behalf. Hoping that one of the minor demons, would have bothered learning about what he wanted. By the time he finished texting the last, the first had replied with a negative respone. Leaving Iaemor worried and putting the phone down until the next answered. Bringing his hand back to her, he linked his fingers with one of her hands. Squeezing gently trying to be reassuring as he could, while in truth he needed someone to tell him everything would be okay.

Ambulance sirens resounded through the streets, the lights stopping right outside Iaemor's front door. A heavy pounding announced the arrival of two paramedics, a third preparing a gurney. They knew what they were doing, gently taking Cairo from Iaemor's arms and checking vital signs.

"She'll be alright, but we need to take her to the hospital."

The paramedics would make no move to stop Iaemor if he followed them to the back of the ambulance, tying down and securing the gurney for the trip. Upon arrival she was immediately rushed in, several doctors already at hand to save the girl. Iaemor was kept in the waiting room, kept in the dark as to what was going on. It was hours before they let him see her, and she was still asleep when he entered. The soft beeping of an electrocardiograph spoke for itself. Cairo was fine, although there was a brace on her left arm.

Iaemor allowed the paramedic to take Cairo, even though he didn't want to let her go, he knew they could help her while he couldn't. He was quite quick to slip into the amublance with her. Leaning against the back of the seat, looking down at her worried. Ending up at the hospital soon enough, he hated how he was left in a room to wait. Not knowing anything.

The first hour was mostly spent, asking question and getting little in the way of response from the medical staff. The second spent collasped in a chair, just waiting knowing that asking was doing nothing. After that though the pacing started. He wasn't some one who normally like to wait, and having to wait on news of something that could be so dire was infruiating. Eventually he was allowed to go see her. Being shown to her room and seeing her bed bound.

Gritting his teeth in worry, Iaenor said nothing not thinking she would hear him even if he did. Sliding over to the bedside and dragging a chair closer. Placing a hand gently over her right hand, he looked down at Cairo sleeping face before looking up at the machine. The constant beeping being one of the only signs that she was sleeping and not about to fade into the final sleep.
