It was cold. Dark. Little starlight filtered through the trees around her, but not too far to the left a clearing of dead trees was filled with grey smog too thick to breath. For her, that was. Cairo didn't think it affected anyone else aside from the usual bad luck. It was so much colder now than when she'd left, the winter air biting harshly at her face, the liquid cold of snow slowly seeping into her bones. It hurt too much to move. It had been agony to bring her phone to the spot where it lay now, half buried in snow and still awaiting her next answering text to Iaemor.

She wasn't sure why she had gone to him. Saffron would have a better time hunting her down. Saffron was odd like that. Maybe she'd gone to the demon out of vanity, knowing that if she called Saffron, she wouldn't be allowed to go anywhere without an escort. Cairo hated being treated like a child, although she knew so very well how much she acted like one sometimes. It was a wonder that Iaemor was still putting up with her. Maybe he had been expecting difficulty from the start. Could Incubi do that? Whatever.. She hoped he'd be able to spot her in the snow, because everything was fading out, cold white being replaced by the merciless black of unconsciousness agian.

Iaemor was cold as well, but not for the same reasons as Cairo. It was down to him high in the air flying at speeds that made the wind whip passed him. Even as hot blooded as he was and the clothes he wore, he wouldn't have called it a pleasent flight. His phone's camera light was on, being used as a make shift torch to see in the darkness. One eye on the screen hoping that it would ring, another message from Cairo arriving. The other trying to look down at the forest with the aid of the small beam of light.

Swooping down lower so he could see through the tree's the occasional taller branch striking across him, while doing little harm, they still stung due to his speed. He couldn't search the whole forest, not fast enough at least. "Cairoooo!" He bellowed into the sky, trying to make his voice carry in hopes she would hear him. Lowering his alltitude in the air once more. The branch that whipped across him became more common. However he didn't care.

It was when he saw a cloud of smog further ahead in the trees that Iaemor didn't understand where it had come from but brought himself to a stop and landing rather then risk flying straight through the dark mist. "Cairo can you hear me?" He shouted once more starting to circle the cloud around the tree line, and catching sight of Cairo in the snow. Iaemor cursed under his breath, if it hadn't been for the smog he never would have stopped, he never would have spotted her were she lay from up above. Rushing forward he dropped to his knees next to her. "Don't freeze on me raven." Iaemor said putting a hand on her head before wrapping his jacket around her and lifting her from the snow.

Cairo felt.. something warm. Her eyelids fluttered, not frozen shut but much too heavy to open. Someone whispered to her, the sound echoing around in her skull but she couldn't make out the words. The cold stopped seeping quite as fast, but her clothes were still wet and beginning to freeze. Joints ached, bones screamed in protest and threatened to break. It wasn't safe for her out here in the cold, that much was obvious. Her tiny frame was shivering, shaking gently from head to toe in a last ditch effort to stay warm. Her pulse was weakening and her breath was increasingly shallower.

Cairo's forehead leaned against something hot and she immediately nuzzled into it, frail body clinging desperately to the warmth. Was it safe now? Would she die here in death's grasp, or was her luck finally even enough that someone found her? Cairo didn't stay conscious long enough to find out, the numb cold of flesh and muscle, and the agonizing pain of a protesting skeletal structure finally dragging her all the way under into unconsciousness

Iaemor pulled the smaller girl close to his chest, hoping to keep her as warm as he could due to his own body heat. Regreting that due to his own high tolerence to injury, he had absolutle no clue where the nearest hospital was. However he was pretty certain no ambulance was getting here quickly. He had to do something though. She wasn't going to get warmer with her mostly wet clothes, nor could he really get her out of them while they were still exposed to the elements.

Clenching his teeth in aggrvation, Iaemor hovered slightly of the ground and started to float back to the city. Staying low, moving slowly so to not shake her, nor worsen her state by the winds, like he had exposed himself to on the flight over. It was faster the walking but not by much, he only hoped that he was fast enough. He was glad that his home wasn't in the city center. Closer to the outskirts and their current location. Were the building were slightly larger and spaced out, while not being too expensive to maintain either. Still it was not a short trip, however he keep his arms wrapped deeply around her until he pratically barged back into his home.

Taking her to the front room, he laid her down on the large sofa and stripped away her wet clothes, knowing she would likely be mad at him later for it. However right now her life was more important. Rushing he quickly retrieved the covers from his bed, and bringing them down to wrap her up warmly, after drying her off with a towel. Still worried she would be too cold, he started a fire, in the fire place. Sitting down beside her on the sofa, he pulled her gently up into his chest, and wrapped her duvet covered body in his arms. He hoped his body warth would be of some effect through the covers, but knew that she recoiled from the heat of his skin, after being so cold, and wasn't willing to risk that he cause her harm by warming her body to fast.

Cairo's eyelids fluttered, blinking away the bright light. It was.. so warm here. Pleasant, after such a long time in the cold. Strong arms held her close and she melted into them like butter. Her bones still ached, but that would fade away over time. For now, this was as close to Heaven as she could get. Cairo was more than happy to stay like this or another hour or two, hovering in semi-consciousness.

Cairo stirred agian when it started getting too warm, wriggling out of the blankets surrounding her to simply relax on Iaemor's lap. She hardly noticed her state of undress, instinctively folding her limbs in to cover the naughty bits while staying comfortable. He wasn't as overwhelmingly hot as the first night, more of a pleasant warmth now that she wasn't freezing cold. Cairo shifted agian to allow her forehead to nestle in the curve between the demon's neck and shoulders, feeling very much at ease. He smelled like pinewood and vanilla. An odd combination but it wasn't bad. It added to the calming atmosphere.

"So you found me." Cairo mumbled, her voice not carrying far. Just far enough for Iaemor to hear.

The first time that Cairo stirred, Iaemor didn't notices right away and by the time he did so, her eyes were already drifting closed again to rest more. He took the small sign though, as one that she would be okay. Still wrapping his arms around her protectively to help her get warm. It wasn't until she stirred the second time round, and started shifting in the blankets, that he started to worry the she would leap up and flee. Pleasently surprised when she didn't do so and instead curled into him.

A few issues in turn arising from the fact. The first that having divested herself of the blanket he had wrapped her in. His arms around her, could feel her skin under his fingers tip, and while she had covered herself still Iaemor was certainly gripped by temptation. The second was the anger from his concern. That she had gone out into a place, that could have killed her, would have killed her if hadn't stopped at that cloud and luckily came across her. Both emotions and desires, Iaemor shoved down as hard as he could. She was okay, but still likely not ready to be reprimanded for such stupid action.

"Yes I found you." He didn't explain that luck had played apart, partially out of pride and partially because it would likely restoke his frustrations. "Though I am somewhat shocked it was me you reached out to." That was a completely true statement though. With the numerous times she had blocked his number, he expected that she would never be the first to texted him. He said no more then that, instead shifting his form to his human one, so that when he lifted his hand to stoke her hair, as a sign of comfort she would suffer from his other forms claws. "I am glad though that I found you in time." The last line like hers was not said very loudly, only the closeness between them allowing her to hear.

Cairo yawned, wincing as her ribs protested to the expansion. She should probably go to the doctors tomorrow. Iaemor was gentle, caressing her hair in a tenderly fashion that reminded her of how her father would sit by her bedside while she was ill. The kind of affection shown was different, but it was still calming. Now was not the time to be falling back to sleep.

"Didn't have another option. No one but you and Live fly. Live can't carry me. Saffron can't drop everything to save me. Paramedics wouldn't have arrived in time. Desmond... Desmond has more important people to care about. To tell the truth, i expected you to ignore me."

Cairo squirmed a bit, uncomfortable with bearing he cold hard facts so out in the open. She didn't have anyone to call if she was in danger. She didn't have any close friends. She'd successfully kept the world away from herself.

"I wasn't expecting to be out so long. My heat charm wore out."

Iaemor refrained from chuckling at the irony in some of her words. He could tell she was mentioning things that were not probably that pleasent to say. Laughing then would have been unfeeling, but the fact she though he would ignore her was kind of laughable. "Why would I ignore you? After spending so much time trying to get you to not ignore me?" Iaemor inquire genuinly curious why should would think such a thing. "Though being a choice of last resort is not that flattering to hear, I will admit." He added more verballizing the slight know to his self image it gave him.

Though asking her feeling while important to him, were not truely important right now. So he added more questions to the list, for her to anwser. His tone more insistant as he did so. "Why were you out there to start with? And more importantly are you feeling well?" He knew that just because she had woken, didn't mean she was going to be completely recovered from the ordeal. So for now trying to focus on her physical well being, he could then turn his attention to her emotional well being. Though he had noticed she didn't seem opposed to the protective way he had been stroking her hair.

Even so Iaemor wasn't as such a gentleman as he could have been. While Cairo's own clothes were still likely damp, he was sure Maya would have spare clothes in one of the cupboards of his home that might fit her. Though due to being pleased to have her in his arms right now, even more so due to his desires. He held back the offer until she replied to him. Planning to enjoy the embrace as long as he could.

The demon had a point. If he was trying to demand her attention, there was no need to assume he wouldn't want to speak with her. Especially if she initiated.

"Last choice is over exxagerating. There was no one else to pick."

Iaemor's pride was exhausting, but he had more questions which... Probably warrented an answer.

"My curse. Bad luck doesn't go away. I have to release the excess somehow. I use that dead area. As you probably noticed. I'm feeling fine but... Well. Stay away from potential hazards for a while."

The warning about staying away from danger, didn't worry Iaenor as much as it might have others. While he wasn't scared of it, he saw no harm in being more catious and avoiding those with the normal means to harm him. "Well as long at you are fine, I can be happy." He responed and smiled even though she probably wouldn't see. Sighing though, he knew he couldn't for this moment to last forever.

"Well I suppose we should try and find you something to wear." He said and moved to stand, letting Cairo shift in his grip so that he was basically carrying her in a bridal style. Slowly walking her through the house and up the stairs to his bedroom. Carefully placing her on the bed, letting her use to sheets if she wanted to. Iaemor started to ransack the large cupboarbs and wardrobe hoping to find something that Cairo could wear.

Finding what seemed to be simple enough but likely to fit Cairo he pulled it out and strided over to the bedside to give it to her. Taking the time to admire her form with hungry eyes if she hadn't covered up after all.
