Charlie entered the reception of Seelie Un Seelie, a paper bag in hand. He had picked up a few smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels from Innocent Bakery, in town. It was a lovely bakery, ran by a demon couple, who made the most fantastic breads and pastries. Around breakfast and lunch they did the most fantastic bagels, with fresh cheese and fish from the island. As he entered, a neatly trimmed androgynous elven fae behind the desk eyed him with suspicion.
"I'm here to see Miss Pernicious" said Charlie, with a smile. In return the fae slid a visitor book over to him and indicated for him to sign it. Charlie filled out the boxes in his floral copperplate handwriting, before signing in the appropriate box, and returning it to the fae receptionist, who checked it, and indicated the door to their left.
Charlie walked through the door into the office beyond. Several rows of desks filled the room, each filled by all sorts of being, fae and otherwise. Many were shuffling papers, and typing on computers. Several were talking animatedly on phones, in langauges from english to everything beyond. He heard odd words, fractured conversations about cases and loopholes and grey areas. A couple eyed Charlie as he walked down the aisle to the the door at the end.
Charlie knocked on the door, emblazoned with a plaque reading 'P. Pernicious - Accountant', and waited for the wonderful demon behind the door.
