Appearance Description:
Rose is pale-skinned. Her natural hair color is a medium-brown with a slight greenish undertone to it. Her hair is very curly with medium-tight curls which reach her mid-back in length. She has streaks of her curls magicked to look like they're dyed orangey-red, with a single pink streak. Rose has blue eyes.

Rose's physical features may be identical to her twin sibling Azalea, but she holds her face in a nigh-perpetual playful grin, which doesn't change much based on what she's feeling. As a result, her mood and emotions are a lot harder to read than Azalea's.

It's unclear whether this is due to their distant fey ancestry, or somewhat less distant elemental relatives, or more likely a bit of both, but Rose and her sibling Azalea were born with intricate markings all over their bodies. Rose has glowing lines running down her sides and along her arms and legs, and leaf markings forming pleasing patterns along the lines. These lines glow different colors in accordance with her mood and feelings, though which colors indicate which emotions is something Rose only tells her close friends. Rose also has a single rose blossom sprouting out of her head, and several vines with rose-like leaves sprouting from her scalp and mingling with her hair. These she was not born with, but grew in around age 10; a common occurance for many Snowflower elves. Plant-like snowflowers gain these attributes around this age, and they seem to be based on the child's interests and personality rather than direct genetic inheritance.

Personality Description:
Rose is playful, impulsive, and more than a little hotheaded. She tends to act before she thinks, and grows angry somewhat easily. That said, she has a knack for doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done, without hesitation or debate.

Rose has a deep and abiding love for the sky, the wind, and thunderstorms, particularly the thunder/lighting part. She has a passionate love of life that's electric and contagious.

Active Abilities:
Rose has the ability to manipulate electricity. She can magically amplify the electrical current in her own body and channel it outward, as well as absorb electrical energy from around her.

Rose can use her hands like defibrillator paddles to restart most humanoid hearts. For this to work, she has to have direct skin-to-skin contact with the person she's trying to revive.
Rose can summon and manipulate the element of fire. Unlike her lighting magic, her pyromancy drains her energy gradually, as she generally has to summon fire from nothing when she uses this ability, which is much more draining than simply manipulating what is already there. Rose can summon a flame in the palm of her hand, which she can amplify and toss as a fireball or use in other ways, and she can manipulate the shape and behavior of existing flames.

Using pyromancy also gradually increases her body temperature, 1 degree F every five minutes for minor use, 1 degree every minute for moderate use, and 2 degrees every minute for heavy use. This can result in fever, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke if she pushes herself too far.
Rose's ancestors, while almost entirely elves, include one or two elementals. As a result of this heritage, Rose is able to forgo her physical form and transform, at will, into a sapient electrical current. In this form, she exists as pure energy, and is compelled to follow the usual laws of electricity to some extent, but can will herself to move a bit more freely, within reason. For example, she will always feel an intense desire to travel downward while in electrical form, like electricy seeks ground, but she can defy this urge and travel in whatever direction she chooses, as long as there is a conductive material to travel through, but after a few minutes the need to go to ground becomes overwhelming and she must obey it. She is always able to transform to or from this state at will.

Passive Abilities:
Rose has the ability to withstand huge amounts of electrical current running through her body, though her hair and head-leaves/flower might get slightly singed at particularly extreme voltages/amperages.
Rose's body acts as a lightning rod, and in stormy weather lighting strikes are naturally attracted to her if she is outdoors. This can protect people around her from being hurt by lightning strikes as Rose herself is immune to direct harm from them, but they can throw her violently to the ground, causing scrapes and bruises.
Rose's elven heritage allows her to see in perfectly clarity even in total absence of light.
Rose's fae ancestry has endowed her with the ability to sometimes see or hear little flashes or sounds coming from other planes of existence. This happens at random and cannot be controlled, and any dimension or plane that has protections placed on it to prevent magical spying would prevent sounds or images reaching her from that plane.

Rose can also be expected to live around 1,000 years naturally, and her childhood lasted a century

Weaknesses:
Rose's elven eyes and ears are more sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds than the average human. Anything brighter than direct sunlight or louder than moderate background chatter in a crowd will cause pain and disorientation.
Rose's connection to the elements of lightning and fire goes all the way to her core. The consuming nature of fire means her metabolism requires her to eat approximately twice as much food as an average human of her same height and weight would need to eat.

And the constantly moving nature of electricity means that every day, she must spend at least one hour in constant motion. This does not have to be intense physical activity; an hour-long casual stroll around the park will do, but if she does not meet this need every day, she will grow depressive and anxious. After two days without meeting this need, she will feel physically ill, and after about a week without meeting this need, she actually risks death if she doesn't find the will to get up and move around for an hour.

Biography:
Rose and Azalea were born to the Snowflower clan, a mostly-elven community deep in the woods with a very communal and familial attitude that attracts a lot of hybrids, misfits, and in general those considered eccentric or troublesome in greater elven society. Though the clan is notably composed mostly of a number of different “always femme-bodied” elven subspecies, the clan matriarchs, Petal and Flurry, have a habit of adopting all sorts of individuals, regardless of race or creed, who need a home. For example: Rose and Azalea have an adopted orc sister in their family, and a spriggan, to name just a couple less typical members of Clan Snowflower.

The clan originally hails from Ireland, but around the time Rose and Azalea were born, their mothers, the matriarchs, were growing increasingly wary of the ever-encroaching modern world and the difficulties it created with staying out of sight of “normal” folk. They managed to make do with the help of the clan's mages by beefing up the protective wards around the clan sanctuary, but when a Manta Carlos scout found the clan in 1958 (when the twins were 43 years old, about 10-ish developmentally, thus meaning they have only vague and foggy memories of their original homeland on the emerald isle), it seemed like an angel had descended from heaven itself when they were offered the chance to relocate to Manta Carlos island. The clan moved out about a month after the offer was extended, with everyone piling on The Great Oak, the massive sapient and sentient, typically stationary oak treeant that the Snowflowers build their homes on and around, and using her as a willing ship, with her roots extended in a large circle allowing her to float like a tree-shaped raft.

Rose and Azalea were born directly to the clan matriarchs. Petal was their gestational mother (the one who carried them), and Flurry was their non-gestational mother (the one who provided genetic material to Petal). They had a fairly comfortable childhood, in which their mothers encouraged (but did not force) them to wear adorable matchign outfits on many occasions, and from early through middle childhood, they revelled in ther twinned cuteness and did absolutely everything together.

Perhaps because of this, or perhaps in spite of it (probably some of both), Rose and Azalea eventually pushed back against the perception others had of them as an adorable matched set, and spent most of their adolescence, from about age 60-65 (mid-teens, around 15-ish or so developmentally), desperately attempting to each claim an identity as an individual. This started as petty squables and minor acts of rebellion like insisting on celebrating their birthdays seperately, but eventually developed into a full-fledged sibling feud. It certainly didn't help that Rose felt isolated in Clan Snowflower. She craved a busier, more “electric” (so to speak) existence in the city.

Shortly after Azalea left, Rose decided to do the exact same damn thing, but to set off in the precise opposite direction that Azalea had done, in a grand and incrediby teenage show of angst and pointless defiance.

Rose eventually made her way to Manta Carlos city, where she picked up an job as a librarian's assistant in an arcane library, and spent most of her off time poring over arcane tomes in an attempt to hone her magical aptitude through self-study. Though Manta Carlos Academy was just a short walk away, she couldn't pring herself to apply, as she and Azalea had often mused about the idea of applying together one day, and attending classes hand-in-hand, and the thought of doing so alone was too painful to consider.

Instead, Rose tried to adapt to life in the big city, but found it all incredibly overstimulating, and continually retreated to her apartment and her place of work at the library. Coming to realize that city life wasn't nearly as romantic or fun as she'd imagined, Rose struggled with a deep depression for a good while, her existence reduced to an isolating routing of work, reading, and lying in her apartment in quiet despair. She thought about her family a lot, and often wondered what they were doing, and how Azalea's sojourn was going, but was too embarassed to come crawling back to them. She had to prove that she could make her way on her own.

About a year into this miserable existence, Rose realized she was crushing hard on a girl she'd met in a support group for depression. She didn't know it at the time, of course, but this girl, Lia Starglow, would eventually be her devoted romantic partner, and her sister, Dove Starglow, would be her twin's girlfirend as well (who says the universe doesn't have a sense of humor?). Rose eventually worked up the courage to confess her feelings to Lia, and the two of them began tentatively seeing each other, awkwardly at first, but more and more confortably as time went on.

Rose confided her reasons for leaving her family to Lia, and confessed that she missed them terribly, but was too embarased to come back yet. Lia urged her to reconsider, as it was clearly important to her. Eventually, Rose gave in, and sent a letter back home to mothers to see if she could bring Lia and her sister Dove—who were not adapting to city life in Manta Carlos as well as they might have liked either—back with her to give them a home in Clan Snowflower. Her mothers happily agreed to this without hesitation.

As if by some bizzare cosmic coincidence, Rose and Azalea both realized that they weren't quite ready to live away from the comforts of home and hearth yet, and decided to come back around the same time. They were reunited in the woods just south of the Great Oak Grove, Clan Snowflower's primary domicile. Serena, who was sitting loyally at Azalea's feet, followed Lia and Dove—Rose's guests—into the grove and let the twins have their moment. They must have each stared at the other, faces awash with guilt, frustration, shame...but mostly love, as they each took in the sight of the other. They realized then that they were very much their own people, each an individual, but they were very much deeply connected, too, and each needed the other. Both were true, and both were important. After a hug that lasted about 10 times longer than the long stare, they returned to their family hand in hand, and spent the next 40 years happily at home with their family.

Now, fast forward to 2017, and the twins were starting to consider, again, their plans of one day attending Manta Carlos Academy as college students. They'd had little interest in the elementary or high school programs, as the clan made sure they were educated as children, but after one very long and full childhood and adolescence, they finally decided they were ready to make this particular fantasy a reality, and they settled into an apartment together in the city, picked up part time jobs to make rent, and walked hand in hand to the admissions office...

Additional Information:
Rose is autistic. This colors her behavior in a number of ways, but manifests most visibly as a need to stim, or self-stimulate, when excited, nervous, or very happy, by flapping her arms, moving around, clapping, or other methods.
Rose has also struggled with chronic depression and anxiety in the past. And although she is currently doing reasonably well, you never really shake chronic depression or anxiety for good, so she occasionally still struggles with both. None of these things define all that Rose is, but they do color her experiences and behavior.
I myself am autistic, depressive, and chronically anxious, so I feel more than equipped to portray these things accurately. My twin sister, who Rose is based on, is also all of these things, incidentally.
