Bel didn't really mind the interruption even though she didn't quite have the answers to Adelaida's questions and felt somewhat put on the spot. In fact, she almost started doubting her motivation for running. Was she being conceited or making this about herself? Adelaida's pointed questions did make her think hard about her reasons for considering these elections important.
After a minute of silence, Bel finally spoke. "It's important because the island has gone through some major changes lately... and we need to pull together and support each other more than ever before," she told Adelaida.
"Many of us are stuck here forever and can't really go home, people like myself, people from Dark Crystal, things we do now for each other will affect us later on," she explained quietly and thoughtfully.
