It was cold up on the rooftops, but it was somewhere that Auden flew to when he had some free time. As he could simply fly up to the top and look at what the school and island had to offer his eyes. He sighed, holding onto a small package with his gloved hands. It was cold out, nippy. Thankfully, if he and his gift partner got cold, they could just head inside. He didn't know if the other person even knew where to do, but he would wait for at least a few minutes until he bolted. Maybe he should have joined with the masses, but he really didn't want to be with a lot of other people.

[ June Orwell ]

Today wasn't a particularly chilly day, but for June it was almost always a little colder compared to others. Sure, his ensemble insulated him from the cold, keeping his body heat in and kept him warm but he could still feel the cold nipping at the exposed skin on his face. It didn't quite help that there seemed to be significantly less people around. He pulled his scarf up a little higher to shield himself from the cold air as he made his way around the school. He held a package close to him, as if it would help him in keeping warmth.

He didn't think there was any sign of his gift partner. Maybe he'd gone to the park instead? Then again, he'd only been in the school grounds for a few minutes. He could probably stick around and wait look around.

Where was he? Had he seriously forgotten about their little arrangement? He huffed, covering his face with his hair as he looked downwards to see if he could see another. This was boring, this was fucking insanely annoying. He cupped his hands around his mouth before screaming down into the masses. "JUNE GET YOUR ASS UP HERE." There, that would get everyone's attention and hopefully his little buddy had been down there to hear it.

And there was his cue.

Oh no, June wasn't that vain to think he was the only person with that name on the island but he had the impression that his gift partner was going to be anything but reserved. Which gave him a high probability that whoever screamed his name was most definitely Auden Verchetty. June breathed a quiet sigh before turning his gaze towards the school's towers and finding a red blur from afar. That was probably him. June raised his arm to wave at him before turning to walk forward to the building.

June would have rushed to get there but he decided maybe he could play with the guy a little and took his time to get there. After all, why make him go through the effort of getting up there instead of just being down there. He walked leisurely, walking along the school grounds, greeting the few faces he'd run into as he walked. If june had to be honest, he really wished he could just meet him back down here to save him the effort of climbing through stairs.

He was glad when June noticed him. He only hoped that he hadn't just yelled down to the wrong people. He waved back, smirking down at the person to let him know that he was acknowledged. He would then just, sit there on the ledge and kick his feet into the side of the building. It was hard for him to wait on someone he didn't trust or know, so every second felt like a minute. It was bad to say but, he was so fucking slow. He supposed this was intensional, but it still sucked majorly. He contemplated going down and meeting him halfway- no that want how he rolled.

June didn't run into Auden the entire trek of the way. Should have expected that, he thought to himself, rolling his eyes at the very thought of his exchange partner. Jeez, if he'd known he was going to end up with someone this uncooperative he wouldn't have tried too hard with looking for a gift. But alas, that wasn't his sort of thing to do. Any gift he gave had some flare to it in one way or another — he wasn't going to change that just because he didn't like the guy all that much.

By the time June found his way to the tower where Auden was hiding, he was admittedly tired — at least less that he could have been if he rushed. Having contact with a few people along the way gave him a little boost and that was fine as it was. "Hey Auden," her greeted cheerfully, "Did you wait for me too long?" he added, like he didn't just try intentionally prolonging their meeting.

Auden wasn't patient. He wasn't patient with people he didn't know, with people he didn't trust for that matter. It took a lot of breathing for him to not storm down to wherever he was and sock him a few times. He sat on the ground, as the wind was being especially unkind to him as he waited. It didn't take him long to think that maybe he was just trolling him, or perhaps he had gotten the wrong person. Finally, as the door swung open, there was a smile on Auden's face. "Oh you know, the usual time I wait for people I don't know." He didn't want to be overly cocky, as he was more so happy that he didn't have to wait in the fucking cold for nothing.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I had the impression we'd be meeting in the courtyard. I ended up running into a few people and got held back." June grinned, barely supressing the chuckle that almost escaped him. He didn't get to see him frowning but judging from his yelling earlier, Auden was probably furious before he walked in. There was a certain spike in the air from it, but they were already faint by now. It was far from the nip of the cold because he actually liked the spike of that one. Even though they were somehow both bad for him in a way.

June leaned on the door frame, just watching Auden from his seat. "You can't really expect me to be up here; you're obviously freezing up here, aren't you?"

"Yeah, just didn't feel like being a normie. Too many people." He made a fake gagging sound as he glanced up at him; what was his deal? "I like to mix it up, you know? Makes people stay interested in me I suppose." It wasn't like that was the whole truth, but there wasn't much else to say. "I actually like the cold, thank you." He sneered, moving over to his present and handing it to June. "Merry Christmas, so you don't have to stay for too long." Inside the normal sized box there would be a gift card for $50 to a bookstore, a mystery inspired bracelet, as well as a somewhat cute hair bow. "It's really not the best present but, I've never been good at such things." If he was being honest, this was the only present he'd be giving away.

"What can I say? I just actually like people. But that's not about normalcy here," June sighed. Sometimes he always forgot that there were some people who perpetually preferred smaller company. "Cute, but not everyone likes the cool-and-mysterious guy schtick. These things really get old sometimes, you know?" he grinned, pushing himself off the frame to approach Auden with a rather smug look on his face.

He took a moment to glance at the present being handed to him before taking himself and glancing back at Auden. "You know, it really sounds more like you're eager to get rid of me as soon as you can," he said playfully before handing him his own present. Inside was a red and black peacoat that caught his eye just earlier last week, with a good luck charm tucked in one of its pockets, placed in a neatly wrapped box. "I like to treasure any gifts for me, so don't sweat it," he said, letting out a soft chuckle as he held Auden's present up to his chin.
