Randomness Between Two People

The little fox girl giggled as she ran through the trees, the wind in her orange hair and the sun on her face. Her ears were perked up and her tail waved back and forth as she ran. Arms were spread out and, just like everyday, she was oblivious to the troubles of the word. She was clueless and carefree, believing that everyday was rainbows and daisies.

At least, the days like these. These were the days where she would lay in the grass and roll down hills, just enjoying nature and the world.

Just then, the thirteen-year-old ran into a tree, quickly falling backward onto a few sticks. She sat up, twigs and leaves sticking out of her hair now. Her left ear twitched backward because of it and she looked at the tree, dumbfounded. Who had put that there?

"Be free, oh Pine Needle. Be free!"

Nyuu looked around, then looked in the direction she had heard the voice from. Scurrying over next to him, she picked up a pine needle and threw it as well. She looked at him, a cheerful look on her face. "Nyuu!!" she exclaimed, laughing. She didn't know any better than to not approach strangers.

Nyuu blinked? Odio? She tilted her head to the side, confused. "Nyuu?" she asked, utterly lost. She needed to have things spelled out to her; she couldn't just know that that was his name.

"How old are you?"

The young girl looked around. She scratched her head, trying to think. She then remembered how old she was after a while, and drew thirteen little slashes in the dirt.

She looked at him, proud of herself. She pointed to the slashes. "Nyuu!"

Once he said that Odio was his name, Nyuu nodded in understanding. It was a pretty name; the girl liked it.

Once he said that he was one hundred-twelve, her orange eyes widened. She started drawing in the dirt again, but she couldn't exactly count that high. She sighed, no longer proud of herself. She didn't know anything... she couldn't count, but she knew it was a rather big number. It had a lot of syllables, after all. "Nyuu," she said quietly, obviously disappointed in her inability to make the lines.

"Nyuu?" she asked, pointing to them again with a small smile, hoping he understood what she asked of him.

Nyuu had actually wanted him to draw that many lines in the dirt, but, oh well. She suddenly laughed, getting an idea. She jumped up and tagged his arm running a few feet away. She remembered playing this game a really long time ago. It was vague, but, she had enough fragments to play it still.

"Nyuuuuu!!" she exclaimed, pointing at him before running again.

Nyuu screamed a joking sort of scream and started running when he ran at her. She usually had this much fun everyday, but even so, she was still laughing. She was enjoying this; it was better than playing by herself.

"Nyuuu!! Nyuu nyuu nyuu nyuu nyuu nyuu!!!" she mocked, looking back and sticking her tongue out at him. She grabbed a tre branch and tried to pull herself up.
