"Oh." Rory hadn't expected that answer, but it made sense. She supposed he seemed in his twenties and not just twenty. A little older. A little more likely to have experience.

She shook her head and grinned suddenly, pushing away the awe at someone seeming to have their life put so together already. "Hey, don't have to tell me twice. Your secret is safe with me." She winked back in an exaggerated fashion.

"Would I have-- actually I guess I wouldn't. What magazines were you in? If you don't mind me asking?"

And she nodded about the idea of showing off any work she ended up doing. "I'm not good at it yet. Never really got to do it and I'm only just gotten serious about the work in school. My internship is the first time I've done any makeup professionally or semi-professionally."

Hiatus
Cam took notice of Rory's surprise, he supposed it was to be expected. Cam didn't exactly think of himself as mature or put together, he had many problems and not being adult enough was one of them. Yes, he could be professional and serious anout things, but inside Cam suspected he's forever be kind of a brat. But he smiled widely at Rory and took a relieved breath when she promised to keep his "secret".
"Perfect. I can continue my rein of terror in this young, beautiful body. No one suspects a thing."
Cam chuckled and swished his hair a bit, he was joking again and burst out laughing when the swished hair smacked him on the face.

Cam tapped a finger against his chin, trying to remember the bigger, more known magazines he'd been in.
"I mostly did live shows and advertisements, or appeared in more minor magazines. But I was in vogue once, and teen vogue. Oh, and Cosmopolitan. But they were all pretty small appearances. You'll get more info if you just google Camille Abel model."

Cam smiled reassuringly and patted Rory's shoulder a bit when she explained about her situation.
"Everyone has to start somewhere. Hell, even I had to go through some horrors to get where I am now. But if you know it's your calling, what you really want to do, then stick with it. I hope I can see your work on stage or screen someday."
Cam grinned, and noticed the cafe he had had in mind. He went ahead and waved for Rory to follow. He'd sit down on a table, and as a waitress came to ask what they wanted Cam ordered a strawberry frappuccino with caramel sauce.

Rory's order of coffee was not as extravagant as Cam's, but she suspected there was little she could do to reach his level of extreme. It was funny meeting someone so peppy. She couldn't remember a time she'd spoken to someone with this level of pep in their step.

"Probably the screen, if I'm lucky. But who knows what the world holds."

She smiled tightly at the idea of her calling. It wasn't makeup artistry, but that was the second best option to being a hero, she supposed. She could have joined the police force, but it wasn't what she wanted. It wasn't even remotely the same.

Still, watching Officer Genovese in action might have been swaying her mind toward the possibility.
