In some strange way, he hoped that she would escape. That she would overpower him or slip through his grasp so that what he needed to do couldn't be done. He valued his own life over the life of a stranger, though. Without that frame of mind and self-preservation, he wouldn't have made it this far. Despite hating violence, in this case, it was necessary for his time on the island to continue.

As the girl ran at him, Zartax outstretched his hand to the side. A split second before the girl stopped in front of him, his bow had been summoned, notched and aimed at her, the crystalline arrow forming when the drawstring was pulled back. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that," he responded in his tough voice. Again, he was weeping on the inside.

Seen as though she was out of breath from just running to him, he hoped that any fight wouldn't last long. Whilst she was in close proximity, the last blow would surely be easier. Pausing a moment as he looked at her eyes, he closed his own and let the arrow fly.

She was close, so while she barely managed to dodge it, it caught her side, drawing blood, and slicing into one of the tendrils. Anita knew that she'd feel the pain if they were damaged, but Anita didn't expect this. She screamed and fell back, clasping both hands over the wounds. It was way worse than that first one.

From her sitting position, she swung at him with another tendril, trying to make him let go of the bow. "Are you trying to kill me, Kay? My dad won't like that, kay!"

Zartax opened his eyes, surprised that the arrow actually hit its target. He still lacked skill when it came to the bow, as well as his powers. Seeing the girl writhing on the ground by his own doing made him just want to run over and help her. It was horrible to see as the person who would leave a room if there was merely an argument.

Avoiding the tendril, Zartax stumbled back, falling onto his back as the bow left his grasp. It needs to be done. He was rageful that he needed to do such a thing. Angry at whoever made him into this. Angry at the ones in the facility who tortured him. Angry at his parents for leaving him alone in this world. All of that pent up resentment boiled up until he felt like he was about to explode. For too long he had concealed his emotions, hidden behind a smile. This evildoer was about to die. He had been through too much to just become the prey.

He rose, staring the girl in the eye. "I don't give a fuck about your dad." He had never sworn in his life. He wasn't the swearing type. What he would give to have his dad back. With a yell, Zartax lept with his hands clasped together above his head. A large crystal shard formed as he swung his arms down towards the girl.
