I have a suggestion for BIG plot that can involve everyone...

What if Starlight Academy came under attack?

Either, another school decided that they didn't like Starlight, or a group of normal people wanted to get rid of all unnormal people?

So what do you think?

Because I ...er...got it off a different site I go to. But thinking up the school-on-school was me!

Ooh... now that's an idea... I think it's a really good plot too. ^_^

The poll says that most people want regular humans to attack... so... if no one else votes by (some time) we should go with that? School-on-school might get a bit too complicated, plus, I think Allie's site is like that...

I voted that it's a good idea, but I'd choose something else. Yes, that one vote is me. The thing is, another school would be an extremely long and complicated process, and a mob of 'normal' people attacking is a bit to cliched for my tastes. (Plus there's something in the storyline thread that effectively nullifies this option. [Reference link for those too lazy too look for it.]) Besides which, both have no doubt been done better than we could do (not to put down the rpers here, but I'm talking about professional writers here). I can't think of any examples for the interschool war, but humans vs. powered individuals I have at least two examples offhand. (The Chrysalids by John Wyndham and The Gathering Dark by Jeff Grubb. Plus it comes up a couple of times in the anime [animes? What's the proper plural of anime?] Hellsing and Full Metal Alchemist. But I'm pretty much just rambling by this point.)

But probably the main reason for my decision is that they both seem too easy and simple. I want something where people can switch sides (either way) and a shrewd backstabber can get as far as (or much further than) a good fighter. Perhaps some kind of battle between two armies coincidentally occurs at the academy and pits the armies against each other and the students. Maybe not the best idea, but it seems just as natural and believable as the other ideas.

Well-said, I agree Milt.
