"Oh! My name is actually La'Hi, but you can just call me Lahi if that's too tricky to say. These feel really nice! I was worried they'd be kinda gross, but you're so lucky! Now I almost need some!" She said with a laugh. She let go, and stuck out a hand to shake. That was a greeting thing, wasn't it?

"Pleased to meet you, Ai. Though, what's a chinese zodiac? I know humans aren't the only things that live here, but other from animals, I haven't met other then them. Are they some kind of half animal? A... I don't know what the word is, my english isn't so good."

That was a bit of a sore point for her. Over a year living here, and she still struggled to speak the language. It was just so alien to her own tongue! She went red just remembering the numerous mishaps she'd caused herself in past just because she couldn't get tenses right, or used the wrong variation of a word. Or miscounted because of the bloody, stupid, number system.

"Lahi... that's a pretty name..." Ai said gently, seeing Lahi put her hand forward she took it gently but instead of shaking it she bowed slightly over it. "It's... Nice to meet you too." Giving a gentle smile now as she finished warming up to Lahi.

When Lahi asked what the Chinese Zodiac was Ai tilted her head in confusion. Who DIDN'T know about the Zodiac? "Well um, China is a country here on Earth.... um.... Chinese are people that come from China..... and well the Zodiac is a cycle of 12 years and each year is depicted with an animal... Such as right now it's the year of the Monkey..." Ai turned and pointed to the monkey statue currently more in front of the others.

"I am the aspect of the ram, and each of my siblings is an aspect of a different animal...." Ai gave a shrug then looking back to Lahi "...and we each have our own abilities and we can borrow from each other.... But um, well I don't really want to bore you with details..." Ai blushed a little then after realizing she had gone on a small tangent... "And it's OK, when I first came here I had trouble with the language too." She gave another warm smile to her new room mate.

She soaked up every drop of Ai's explanation like a sponge. It only left her with dozens more questions though. Was china different from america? Did every country have its own language? What was a monkey? Was that a monkey, or just an artistic impression of a monkey?

"No, not boring at all! Earth was so weird and different from where I come! I mean, it's very similar in some ways, but there was still so much that I am constantly surprised by. Creating a cycle, and choosing each year an animal? Who even thinks that! It's so crazy wonderful!" She grinned. "Plus, you have most unique ability I always saw. Wait, that didn't sound right... Eh, you get what I mean. What's your special ability? I bet it was really great!"

She couldn't help it, she blushed again as Lahi asked about Ai's specific ability. "It's nothing special. I myself am sure footed and I can't be afraid of Heights., like I said it's nothing..." Ai's small blush inrensified as she stayed quiet for a moment longer.

"But why don't you tell me more about your abilites... What can you do with them?" Ai had put on a very eager face with a sparkle of intensity and innocence. Then her stomach gurgled loudly making her pause and put a hand to her stomach as she remembered why she was going out of the room. "Oh, I'm sorry.... I need to eat, would you like to join me Lahi?"

"Sure! I would love that!" She agreed. She wondered if china had different kinds of food. Maybe some sort of variation on other earth foods she'd seen, or perhaps something completely unique. Her mouth started watering as she considered the possibilities. "I would really love that. Let's go!"

As they walked, she explained her powers. "It was not an ability like you. It was actually magic. I practise two main kinds, Ozzu'Ro, and Ro'Ih. Ro means magic, so you will hear it a lot. Ozzu'Ro is all about using just magic. Destroying other magic, making things out of magic. Ro'Ih is about tapping into our spirit side, our Hi'Ro. We can turn into magic, or alter our forms look different. I could have horns like you if I want."

Where they were heading wasn't far from the dorms so Ai's pace was unhurried so she could talk with her roommate. Ai listened intently to what Lahi was telking her. "oh-zoo-row and row-eh?" Ai tried to pronounce what Lahi was telling her.

"so with Ozzoo'row you can use magic to influence everything around you and with Row'ih you can alter the stuff about you?" Ai was honestly curious about this girl and now that her shyness towards strangers wasn't a factor she was starting to be more friendly.

"Are you able to look like anyone? Like... Could you look like me?" Ai thought it was going to be strange to look at herself but not with a camera or mirror. Her step started to gain a small skip to it making her hair Bob up and down while she walked. It was just natural for her to go back to the way she use to bound around back home in their rocky Mountain village in the Himalayas.

"You need to make a clicking sound with the tip of your tongue between the La'Hi. It's not Ozzuro, it's Ozzu *tut* Ro. It's nothing like speaking english, but you've got the right idea!" She encouraged her. She was elated that Ai was trying to make even a small effort to understand her language, and she was enjoying handing out the small tips.

"I could look like you, but it would took a long time. If I rush, I could, um... Die? Not certain though. Might just die a small bit. It works by breaking body, then put it back. When I change, there was a chance of not putting body back the right way. Ro'Ih."

She dissolved into crackling azure magic, then reformed. She showed a bright blue patch that now resided on her arm.

"Small change? Ok. Big change? Dangerous. Had to do lots of small change. I'll do it when we're eating lunch! Er, actually, that was not a good idea. Should not use Ro'Ih quickly after eating. Can I show you other thing also? Er, instead?"

Trying to leaen a new language was difficult but scince she learned English and already spoke Mandarin Chinese she figured trying to learn another one wouldn't hurt. Especially if it would help her new roommate. The small click of tge tonue was going to take some getting use to though if it was this consant.

When La'hi changed into a cloud of blue sparkly dust Ai was thinking she did something wrong and was about to panic when La'hi reamerged though she cut back on a small worried scream of terror. But La'hi was fine from the looks of it except for a blue patch on her arm. Clearing her throught to cover her almost panic attack away she looked at La'hi with a curious expression. "is it alright if I touch it?..."

Once La'hi... Ai was now considering giving the girl a nickname. Taking into account of the click as well with the name started to make her head hurt a little... Explained that it was dangerous to change so rapidly and so drastically she nodded at the request to show her something else. Ai didn't want her new friend to get hurt.

It was then that they reached where they were heading. It was a small restaurant that served Vegetarians. "Here we are." Ai paused then thinking, "um, do you have any problems with eating vegetables?"

"You're free! It is not any different to the rest my, er, rest of my body. Vu'Orih!"

She raised her hands to her head, and with the command, azure magic flared and crackled into a pair of horns. Their glow and colour made it clear that they were unnatural, and some sort of magical construct, rather than the biomancy from before.

"Ta da!" She bowed her head proudly, and let out a happy laugh. She hadn't had this much fun with someone in too long; being cooped up on a ship hadn't been enjoyable at all.

"Vegetables are good. I need high energy foods, not much um... Body foods? Protein? Bread is better then meat for me."

Moving forward cautiously at first with her hand Ai touched the blue patch of skin to find that it did, in fact, feel like normal skin. "By the spirits..." Ai said in wonder. Then La'hi put her hands to her head and with another puff of Arcane energy stuff there were some horns on her head. "That's amazing!" her voice squeaking slightly in excitement.

When La'hi said she needed more quick energy foods and not so much protein that gave Ai a sigh of relief before turning a smile to her friend. "Well, then I think you'll love the fruit salad here." and with that Ai motioned for La'hi to follow her inside.

The room was large, it was mainly meant for minotaurs but there were several accommodations made for the height impaired like Ai. So she asked up a small ramp to the counter and waited a moment. Shortly a very large minotaur came around a corner wearing normal cloths but above that was an apron which had many pockets and even more dirt stains. When he saw Ai he gave a warm smile. "Ah Love, the usual again?"

Ai gave a warm smile back to the big minotaur "Yes please Dà Niúshì, but can I also get a medium fruit salad for my new roommate?"

"Can do Love. Go find yourself a seat I'll be over with the food." the minotaur said writing something in a not so proportional not pad and going deeper into what looked like a green house located behind the restaurant. Ai had asked to go back and when she did get a look it was huge! But it seemed that he had gotten magic help to allow it to be bigger on the inside so it could fit in the urban environment.

So with food ordered she motioned once more for La'hi to follow her down another small ramp to a seating area. Once seated in an ornate wood chair with soft cushions she beamed happily being able to bring a friend here. "I love this place. Everyone is so nice here."
