"it's sad! I cry to sad things!" the words didn't quite make it out alright but they came out, eventually. He was trying to make himself stop, he knew what he was doing was inappropriate and wanted to stop being a bother.

Maybe it was cold for a child her age to say this, but Eroshay had seen enough death to be desensitized to it by now.
