Pen's Going Away Thread

Hey all!

As many have heard in chat, I'll be mostly, if not completely, offline from June 27th to July 10th or so due to a writing institute I am attending. However, aside from that, real life complications will overall be keeping me from SA more. I'll have about three hours of computer and phone usage a day, and of that, not everything can be focused around SA. However, that also means I'll have fewer distractions when it comes to being genuinely productive around here, as I can occupy myself with posts in a notebook that can be transferred during my time online.

Overall, my activity from now on will be limited, but my productivity should increase with the chat as less of a presence. I'll do my best to be around here enough!

I've decided to add a little more time to my period of total inactivity. It might not start until several days after I get back from the institute, but there will be another section of time that I'll be generally away.

However, during that time, I still plan to at least write my posts, and my plotter should be finished during the time. I'll post another alert here sometime in July for when I plan to start that second short stretch of inactivity.

Hey guys.

Despite the fact that I'm going to miss you all like crazy, I'm taking a hiatus from the chat rooms. That includes main, plotting, and ICC. I'm not sure how long this hiatus is going to be - probably until I can get back on my metaphorical feet. I need to focus on posting and my novel, and SA chats are my main distractions. Not my ADD. Not my lack of willpower. Those certainly add to it, but I think the biggest issue is my chatbox activity. I'm going to be requesting a chat ban for the time being as well, in hopes to cement my decision.

I'm sorry about this, but overall, I think it's for the best. For finishing school work, for working on my novel, and for writing my posts in a timely manner. I'll be back in the chats once I've got my time managed. If you need me, send a PM or respond to this thread.

I know full well how distracting chats can be... And I genuinely admire your dedication to writing, I fancy myself a writer, but I definitely lack your motivation (and I can only wish I could attend a writing institute). So yeah, good luck, and let's hope we can at least interact in-character going forward!

My one exception clause to my hiatus is when my brain is fried and/or I want to chat and have no other responsibilities I am able to accomplish at the specific time

in those instances, I will be online

Some sudden emotional things have cropped up in my life, mostly with social anxiety and my generally skittish personality. I'm uncomfortable around almosy everyone right now, real life and online both, and am just doing my best not to completely abandon the relationships I've made with everyone in my life. As for this message, I'm just here to inform that until these issues have mellowed out and I can comfortably associate with other people again, I probably won't be very profuctive around here, nor will I be on chat often if at all. If I am, it'll be sporadic. If you're waiting on my replies, I'll try to get them up as soon as possible, and I apologize profusely for the wait. Please, feel free to send me the links to any thread I've not yet replied in that you're waiting on, as I don't want to lose them and prolong this hiatus more than neccessary.

Thank you for your ever-increasing patience with me, and I'm sorry again that I'll be away.

I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with me. Roleplay used to be something I loved, but for the past year and a half, posting has felt more like an obligation than something I enjoy. But don't worry, there's no way in hell I'm leaving SA.

I think, once Nim's plots are at rest for a time, I'm going to go on hiatus for as long as he's in his coma. Maybe periodic visits just to check in, but I need a time to refresh and see roleplay as something fun again. Maybe then I can actually be active?

The hiatus, if I go through with it, would probably start after Christmas break. I'll post another notice when it starts, if I do in fact start it at all. I seem to have a history of ignoring my own hiatus posts.

If you see me in chat, especially ICC, feel free to remind me gently of posts, especially this one. I'm going to try to stay off chats and focus on actual activity, especially due to time-sensitive plots. If you would like to contact me, please send me a PM.

Finally, I'm doing a temporary purge of my characters. None will be archived, but many will be placed on hiatus. I'm going to be PMing people and consolidating my threads down to something that doesn't feel overwhelming in hopes it helps things to seem fun again.
