Peace & Quiet? Doubt It.

Ah, the forest. It was normally quiet for midday, surely the usual array of kids and adults were either working or being educated. The midday sun sat high in the sky surrounded by a few wispy clouds, the deep blue of the sky backgrounded against the burning sun. The grass and paths of the forest crunched and swept beneath Cade's feet, it was this peace and quiet that he welcomed gratefully. His newfound solitude was this forest on the outer edges of the Academy where his black wings would take him, but today he decided a walk would have been better to clear his head.

The gravel crunched under his black boots as he walked the many criss crossing paths that darted in many directions across the area. His hair was in it's usual long, straight way. His hazel eyes were hidden behind a pair of silver framed sunglasses that mirrored the surroundings. He regretted wearing his usual dark tops and dark jeans in the glare of the sun but the heat felt nice on his bare arms. The corded muscle casting shadows upon his sides.

Peace and solitude were a rare thing for one such as Cade. He sought it, fought for it and felt it but he rarely felt it's peaceful eternity. He enjoyed the company of significant others and there did come such a time that he wished he had some one he could talk to in a place like that but this was not one of those times unfortunatekly. Lapping the forest for the third time without realizing it, he walked with his head staring down at the ground, his memories casting back to his parents, and the time he was sent here to the Academy out of his own will. However, with some new friends and a new mate, it seemed to be gradually paying off.

Rae walked around the trees, not following any real path. Why she was doing it, she wasn't sure. Her best friend wasn't with her, so she had had to find something to do. This is what it came down to. She was bored out of her mind at the moment, something that wasn't new to the eighteen-year-old.

Her hand on the hilt of her sword, Rae kept her eyes and ears open for anything threatening. She quietly talked to Moe, her friend, as she trudged along.

He continued to walk endlessly, still gazing at the ground below him, that was until he bumped into a tree. "Ow..." He rubbed his head forcefully while looking up. Maybe he should watch where he was going. Upon looking up a figure had come into his view from a short distance. Taking a few steps back, Cade shook the dazed feeling from his head. Who had he just come across? Why did bad things always happen to him, he didn't mean to cause these things but couldn't help finding trouble or trouble finding him. Removing the sunglasses from his face, he rubbed his eyes to get a clear vision of who he would probably directly encounter, a girl. She had a hand on something, that appeared to be some sort of weapon, from his knowledge anyway. "Just my luck..." he muttered as he looked up into the tree he had run into. It would probably make a good hiding place, for he was not intending nor was he even in the mood for a confrontation right now. He quickly ascended into the tree using the wings he had been blessed with and seated himself there. The wings immediately vanished upon landing.

Rae saw something fly up into a tree some twenty or so feet in front of her, but figured it was a bird. With a sudden thought, she quickened her pace, trying to get to the tree so she could find this bird. She wanted to hypnotize it!

As she looked up into the large tree for the animal, Rae frowned. Nothing up there but a boy. Shrugging, she began to walk away. But a second later she halted and spun around to face him. "Hey! You!" She pointed at him.

Cade had almost now fallen asleep in the tree; he didn't seem to care to be around others as of right now, which was why he was doing this. His mind had now emptied itself as he was now detected by the girl he had just saw. He could hear something, as if there was a disturbance in the midst. He didn't say anything he just looked for the voice. With a little sigh he closed his eyes, unable to find the one that was causing the noise around him. He really did not care anymore. But for now that would be alright, he yawned and then began to drift back to dream world. Well that was till he heard a very loud calling. He opened his eyes and looked and looked down to see the girl. "Is there a problem?" he asked in a dark tone. He was a bit annoyed by her intervening on his alone time.

Shaking her head at him, Rae took a few moments to reply. "No, I was just wondering if you'd seen a bird fly by here a moment ago." If she had seen his wings, she would have guessed it was him, but since she didn't know he could fly, Rae still believed it was a bird.

Cade just shrugged. It seemed that she had to idea of bird flying bird. In reality that bird was Cade, but she didn't seem to have noticed, which was a good sign for him. He leaped down to the ground, nearly loosing his footing upon on landing. "You just missed it. Who knows where it could've have possibly went." he answered. What a lie!

Rae sighed in disappointment. It would have been fun to have control over a bird. Looking around, she spotted a rabbit. Quickly, she made eye-contact with the animal and her eyes flashed purple for a brief moment.

Grinning at the sight that her hypnotism had worked, Rae made the rabbit hop over, Rae looked to the person beside her. "What should I make it do?"

Cade looked over to where she had looked first, and saw the rabbit. He glanced over at the girl again and noted the flash in her eyes. What's happening, he thought as he watched the rabbit hopped. He wasn't sure if it did that on it's own or anything otherwise. He thought it was just plain creepy. "Err...what can you make it do?" he asked after pondering.

Rae thought a moment before shrugging. "Anything I want it to do." She pointed up with her finger and the rabbit stood. She twirled it in a circle, and the rabbit did a 3-60.
