Shaking her head in what was probably a mixture of dumbfoundedness and dismay, she studied the doors around her once more. No, there had to be a reason. It could be illusory magic - there was no denying that the weirdest stuff happened on Manta Carlos, so hat was definitely in the realm of possibility - but that would have been explaining it away without proof. If there was a way in, there had to be a way out.. right?
Never in a million years was she going to admit there wasn't an exit, nor was she to admit that she was a bit frightened by the implications of such a setting. Would they get out?
Aswan sighed, as she listened to Bea's explanation about illusions or glamours or whatever magic it was this time, and fidgeted with the rims of her glasses. A common tic of hers.
"Maybe," she replied, taking care to ensure her tone was even and confident, "but if it is magic, then assumedly there would have to be a failsafe. A way to ensure the spell worked. A workaround. A weak point. Something I - I mean we can use to exit this... whatever this is." Worst-case scenario, Roland would realize she was gone, and come looking, and no matter how clingy he was, he was certainly a good performer of magic. Wouldn't he know a bit more about magic than she did?
Then again, all her time on this island had been spent studying, so perhaps not. Either way, that wasn;t the major concern now. What the major concern was, was getting out of this library.
"We're not trapped, we're just.... er.... far from the exit. Wherever that is." She muttered that last part under her breath, searching for an indicator of the exit.
