Jamie took the white bottle in thin fingers, turning it over and mentally pronouncing the long, difficult name. "Sorry... That must suck." He finally said, quietly handing back the bottle.

Now what was it you wanted to ask a moment ago...Do i?"

"Ah..." He shrugged one shoulder, still feeling like he was chattering despite Dorn's assurance otherwise. "I was just wondering if you knew anyone else with only one power."

He listened solemnly, finally nudging his shoulder against Dorn's in a rare and vaguely awkward display of empathy. "Sorry. Glad he was there to help you. Guess I shouldn't be complaining so much... At least my power has never put me in danger." He stared at his hands, wishing he could think of something more comforting to say. The boy had, in a relatively short time, done more to alleviate his fears concerning the Academy then anyone else had - he wished he could say something to make him feel better.

"You have a special gift and a great power, just like with me you just have to learn to control it, I might not be such a good teacher on the subject but I might be able to help you control your powers if you want me to help you?"

"Really?" He turned to the taller boy with excitement shining clearly in his eyes. "But... How? I don't even know how to... summon it or anything. It just shows up when I get really surprised or embarrassed or something and won't go away."

He reddened shyly at Dorn ruffling his hair, and for a moment couldn't think of anything to say. "...Then you're very lucky. The power to understand people, and the ability to talk to them, as well." He finally said, pushing the hair out of his eyes.

Dorn nodded a little. "Yeah it really do suck" he replied back after a moment as his eyes watched the water of the sea moving slowly back and forth. "I admitt I never saw it as very serious first, mom said that it was very important that I took it. But one day I actually ignored to take it, well I really thought I had taken it." he made a pause and shook his head. "I leanred my lesson big time when I got my first real heart failure. I take tel you James, it is something I hope you will never have to feel in your life. Luckily for me I was with my friend Nikki at the time so he could scream for my mother and she came with the medicin before it was to late." his serious face became a little happier and he smiled. "But let us not talk about such a grim topic, my life most be boring to listen about."

To the questions about powers Dorn thought about it for a moment. "Yeah I know a few, my friend Nikki is one and he has the power to heal wounds, I have seen others train there powers and such but since I do not have very many conections around school I can not be sure and to ask a person about there powers is not the first thing I usualy do when talking to them." he stretched his arms over the head for a few seconds and then he closed his eyes and took a deeo breath.

Dorn turned his eyes towards Jamie as the younger boy nudged his shoulder, Dorn smiled a little at him. It feelt nice to have made a friend like this, and he had a feeling that Jamie could use a friend to hang out with. "Thank you Jamie boy, but you should not think that I wanted you to complaine less by telling about the accident, I just wanted to tell that I also can have problems with my powers." the smile turned to a friendly grin as he said the last part. "But everything gets better with training."

Dorn laughed and the grin grew a little bigger. "Really, I would love to help you Jamie." he replied and he did sound happy about the fact that the boy did want his help, now he had a really good reason to meeting the boy again. "Well the first thing we will have to do is try and see what it is that makes you move things when you are emotionaly stressed. I think your power works very much like my own, they are also very tied to strong emotions." he thought about what he could say that would make it easier for the boy, he closed his eyes for a moment. "I think the two of us move things in the same manner, even if I am just limited to metal and you can move anything you want."

Dorn laughed as the boy became red when his hair was ruffled. "Luck has nothing to do with it, I have always had an interst in understanding others and help them if I can." Dorn examined the other boys face and then he looked around in search for something and then he noticed a not so big rock, it looked like it could do.

"Let us start your training right away then and see what we have to work with" he calmly made a gesture towards the rock. "Jamie see that rock? I want you to see it, picture it and remeber it as much as you can, then close your eyes." he explained calmly. "Then while they are closed I want you to see the rock inside of your mind, take it from your memory that it is there. Then picture that you life it up with a beam of light coming from your forehead, breath calmly and do not push yourself. We are not in a hurry for this and if it do not work the first time then do not feel bad about yourself. I am here the entier time and I will help you in any way I can, okey?" he placed both his hands on ech side of the friends shoulder to show that he was there. "You can do it, I know you can Jamie, you are a very strong person."

James drew his knees back up to his chest, listening solemnly to Dorn speaking and nodding earnestly every now and then. He was getting nervous about the whole thing - what if it didn't work? What if it did, and he couldn't stop it again? What if it got out of control? He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Dorn was there. He could always run for help if Jamie took a flying rock to the face.

He examined the rock carefully, balling his hands into fists and curling even further inward on himself. He closed his eyes, frowning slightly in concentration as Dorn's soft voice continued its coaching, quiet over the lapping of the waves. He could imagine the rock in his mind, feel the weight like a strange and distant thing. His problem was actually moving it, instead of only thinking about moving it. He was about to say this out loud when he felt Dorn's hands drop down on his shoulders, and his eyes popped open before he could stop himself.
And then Dorn was calling him a 'very strong person' and Jamie was thinking, what gave you that idea? and trying to concentrate on forehead beams instead of hands, and then suddenly his ears were buzzing and the rock and a few dozen others surrounding it shot twenty feet in the air. He tensed up anxiously as they whizzed back down, fingernails digging into arms as they splashed impressively into the sea a few yards away. A shower of scattered pebbles rained down after them, pelting down upon the boulder they were sitting on and stinging against James' tensed shoulders.

He was silent for a few moments, staring at the half-submerged rocks to make sure they weren't moving anymore before finally turning to Dorn with concern written plainly on his face. "I'm sorry... Sorry. are you okay?" He asked, his relative success ignored as he stumbled over apologies. "It's always... big, like that. I should have told you I'd screw it up and make it dangerous. I'm sorry."

Dorn calmly watched this all as it happened before him, okey this boy could use some help with the control alright. He did not move much when it suddenly began to rai rocks and he in fact gave James some slight cover so that he would not be hit by it all, so Dorn took most of the peddals. Then he brushed some sand out of his hair and from the sleves of his shirt. He picked up a rock and examined it between his fingers before he dropped it down. He turned the blue eyes towards James when he began to talk again and he could see that the boy was concerned and it made him both happy and sad, happy because the boy cared but sad beacuse it looked like he would think that Dorn was going to be mad at him.

orn smiled calming. "It´s okey Jamie, I´m okey." he replied with a calm friendly voice and began to pick out some small rocks from inside of his shirt. Then his smile turned brighter. "You did move the rock as I had thought you would, that the rest came was just a bonus. It was awesome!" he laughed and then he frowned a little and brushed some sand out of his friend hair. "Hey I know it could be dangerous Jamie, and yet here I am. So do not say your sorry about such a small matter. We have some work to do you and I but do not think I will give up just because of this little thing? I did give you a promise to help you get control of your powers now did I?" he removed the hand and made a pause for a few seconds. "But are you okey then Jamie, did you get hurt? Are you okey?" now there was a slight hint of concern in Dorns voice instead, he did not care much if he was hurt but he could not stand when his friends was in pain.

Jamie squirmed a little, averting his eyes from the other boy as he brushed sand from his hair. He wasn't used to someone... touching him so much. Although it was not unpleasant, he wasn't sure how to respond, so he tried to pretend it wasn't happening. "But... I mean..." He tugged at his left shirt sleeve awkwardly, still studiously staring at the ground. "Don't feel like you have to help out someone you just met. If it's gonna be dangerous."

"But are you okey then Jamie, did you get hurt? Are you okey?"

"I'm okay." He said, without hesitation. "You kinda covered me from most of it. Besides, I've gotten hit by plenty of worse things before." He shrugged awkwardly with one shoulder, chewing the inside of his lip. He'd gotten caught in the whirlwind of his powers many times before - at least this time he'd came out of it without bruises. "But maybe I should practice with something softer then rocks next time." He flickered up a glance at Dorn's blue eyes, grinning lopsidedly.

Dorn watched him calmly, it would seem as the boy seemed a little strange when Dorn brushed the sand out of his hair, it was not that he did not like it...more like he was confused and without any iead how to react to it. Good thing Dorn could feel that, he smiled a little and then he listened to the other boys words. "Jamie, don´t be silly. I don´t help you because I feel like I have to, I help you because I really want to." he said and nodded a little. "I know it will most likely be dangerous, better that I get a few wounds from helping you then to think of that fact that you might hurt yourself very badly one day."

Dorn nodded at his words. "I´m happy your okey Jamie." he said and then he looked towards the sea again, he laughed at the boys last words and nodded once more before he turned and looked back at the boy into his eyes. Dorn tilted his head a little to the side as he looked at James. "Yeah next time we will use pillows or something softer." he said in agreement.

He thought to himself still with his eyes on Jamies. "So Jamie have you payed a visit to your room at the dorm yet?." he asked. "Maybe you should think about changing those clothes or you are going to give a weird first expression to people. Not that you do not look good in those you have but they are a little strict." he grinned slightly as he said these words.

"Yeah next time we will use pillows or something softer."

Jamie nodded, grinning excitedly despite himself at the words 'next time'. It was nice to know he had a friend on the Island, someone interested in meeting him again. "Pillows, huh?" He grinned at the thought, happy that the problem of possibly hurting Dorn was so easily solved. "Probably a good idea."

"Ah... No, I haven't." He pulled a scrap of paper out of his pocket on which was scrawled the number of the dorm he'd been assigned to. "I just got here - haven't been to the school yet." He didn't mention that he'd been delaying it for as long as possible, although he figured Dorn would guess.

He ducked his head, pulling self-consciously at the hem of his shirt as if he could make himself less conspicuous. The shirt was casual enough that it might look natural on someone else, but on him it looked out-of-place and... well, strict. "I was planning on changing as soon as I got here... But my luggage was delayed. They told me to check back tomorrow." He shrugged, absent-mindedly rolling up his sleeves. "Anyway, I'm used to making bad impressions."

Dorn smiled at him. "Yeah of course it is a good idea, would be more fun that way to. Think of the pillow fights one could have with your powers." he grinned slightly as he said this and then he pocked the boy on the nose with a slight gesture. It could be really fun to hanging around with Jamie of things like these happened more, would make the time more interesting, but of course he did not say anything about this to the boy right out.

Dorn looked over at the paper he had, he frowned a little and then he nodded. "I see, well if you want I can help you to find your way to the dorms" he looked closer at the note so that he would be able to read what it said. "Hmmm yeah I know that room actually, your going to have a roommate, but no problem since I know for a fact that he is a nice chap that one." he did not tell him who it was, well that was going to be a surprise for when they came to the dorm.

Dorn laughed a little. "Well then let us give you a little more relaxed look shall we?" he calmly looked at the boy for a moment before he calmly stretched out a hand and undid the first button on his shirt, this removed the strict look over his clothes and made it look more relaxed. "Now that make you look much less strict. Sad thing about your clothes, you know if you want you could borrow something from me until tomorrow? I have much clothes I can spare so that would be no problem at all." he then laughed again and shook his head slowly. "No Jamie, you do not at all make a bad first impression, you made a pretty good one on me anyway."

Jamie scrunched his nose, embarrassed. "You're right," he said, vaguely surprised. He'd never considered his powers might be used to do something enjoyable. "'Course, it wouldn't be fair to my opponent."

"You would? That'd be great" He said, relieved. The prospect of going to the school was still an unpleasant one, but having Dorn with him relieved some of his apprehension. He nodded at the affirmation of his fears concerning a roommate, anxiety only slightly lessened by the other boy's reassurance that he was nice. He considered asking Dorn what his name was, deciding against it quickly. He didn't know anyone else at the Academy - a name would mean nothing to him. Besides, he'd prefer to avoid thinking about it for as long as he could.

Dorn undid a button on his shirt, and he went red at the unexpected gesture, fingers involuntary going up to the small of his neck where the thin necklace he had tucked under the shirt was now exposed. It made him even more self-conscious, but he had to admit he at least looked more casual. "Thanks," He finally said, grinning appreciatively.

He glanced up and down the taller boy, smiling in spite of himself. Although he guessed the other boy to be only a year or two older then him, he was easily six inches shorter then Dorn, and thirty or so pounds skinnier to boot. "That'd be great - if you think you have anything that would fit me." He grinned, tweaking the other boy's shirt sleeve impulsively. "Got anything you grew out of a few years ago?"

Dorn laughed a little. "Maybe not fair, but it would be fun" he commented back with a bright grin and then he ruffled his own hair for a moment and this was followed by a slight sight.

He then turned the eyes to Jamie again as he asked if he would. "No problem at all Jamie boy, it will be my pleasure to show you the way. We are friends now" he smiled brightly at the boy before he looked up into the sky for a moment, it was such a nice day and such a nice day to meet new people. Dorn nodded as James said thank you. "Your welcome Jamie" he replied calmly.

To the talk about the clothes Dorn had to laugh again, then he nodded. "Yeah we might have a size problem on our hands, but no problem that is not possible to fix I assure you" he blinked at the boy. "I never throw anything away and I think I have some clothes that might be just what you need, shall we go then or you want to spread roots on this beach?" he stood up and then he stretched down his hand offering it to Jamie. "This will all be fine Jamie, trust me when I say your going to do great things one day"
