James smiled back at Dorn, turning his gaze to the ocean when the other boy looked away. His earlier apprehension had all but disappeared - it was such a nice day, and he had a friend at the Academy. He couldn't remember the last time someone had taken the time to talk to him. Well, for that matter, he couldn't remember the last time he'd wanted someone to.

He nodded, relieved. "Thanks. I was afraid I'd have to sleep in these tonight..." He said, gesturing to his clothes.
He grabbed his tie in one white hand, placing the other in Dorn's and standing up. Now that they were both standing, he had to tilt his head to see Dorn's face; which he did, nodding at the other boy's reassurances and twisting the tie between long nervous fingers. "I'm not sure about that... But thanks." He said sincerely, ducking his head.

"Let's just go and get it over with, huh?" He finally said, abruptly brushing the sand from off his clothes. "Like a band-aid. Except I've gotta live here." He grinned lopsidedly, hanging the tie around his neck. "How long of a walk is it?"

Dorn laughed and shook his head. "No we will make sure you do not have to sleep in those clothes tonight Jamie" he said calmly and gave the boy a friendly grin, then he began to walk back from the way he came, he made sure not to walk to fast so that Jamie could keep up with him. He sighed a little at the boys words. "You will see that everything will be better after you have learned to control your powers Jamie" he said softly. "So no need to thank me for that little."

He frowned a little at the words, maybe that was a little wrong to say, "Well I would not put it as simple as that" he commented but he did not really explain what he talked about when he said it. Dorn smiled and then he pointed up towards the building in the distance, it was not to far off from where they where right now. "You can see the buildings of the school over there Jamie, it wont take us to long to get there. We will be there in a jiffy"

((I guess I will make the next topic then. :P ))

James picked up his messenger bag, slinging the strap over his shoulder and following Dorn nervously.

"You will see that everything will be better after you have learned to control your powers Jamie"

James nodded, hanging back a moment to cast one final longing glance towards the ocean. "I hope you're right..." He said softly, barely loud enough to be heard.

At least the Academy wasn't too far away. If he couldn't run from it, at least he could everything sorted out as quickly as possible. He quickened his pace for a few yards, catching up to the older boy.
