Sabriel could have died happily when Carta returned his hug. People didn't hug him - people didn't show him affection. The only person that did that anymore was his aunt, but he didn't see her very often and it wasn't the same as having a friend, someone who chose to spend their time with you. He allowed Carta to pull away and purred, more content than he'd been in years when his ears were stroked. He rubbed his head into Carta's hand, closing his eyes and allowing the feeling to spread through him.
"Oh..." Sabriel said, knowing where this was heading. Carta had to leave. A part of him didn't want him to; usually, people left for good as soon as they could. His worry was tangible, only to be soothed when he gave him his cell phone number and email address. Sabriel had no use for his own cellular device or email, but he supposed now he... he must of!
Providing they were real.
No, no, they were real! They had to be! A smile graced his lips and he bounced excitedly, tempting to leap up and tackle him. "Oh! H-Here," Sabriel said, grabbing a piece of paper and a pen and writing his own information down. He held it out for Carta to take.
"We'll talk soon... right?" he asked, holding back his hope just for the moment, although it was bubbling to the surface all too easily.
