Xenia Asgonne
~~~
Xenia glanced down at the paper in her hand. This is was definitely the place. The Power Classes were supposedly held in the room right in front of her. She stared down the big wooden oak doors, hoping for a moment that they'd turn into her dorm room doors so she didn't have to go to class. Sighing, she pushed open the huge doors in front of her and took her first look at the big room.
It was exactly as she'd feared. It was too small. The room was plenty large- enough for about ten students that were working on their respective powers, most of them accompanied by a professor. She looked down at the paper for the thousandth time, squinting at the small type at the top of the page. Xenia Asgonne- Power, Speed. They clearly hadn't messed up, but how was she supposed to run in here? She could make a lap around the room in a a nanosecond if she had to. This was really no place for her to be training.
She sighed in relief and stuffed the paper into her pocket, crumpling it. She had no business to be here! She could go back to her dorm after all, or maybe grab a soda. There was no way for her to get in trouble for ditching class. There was no way she could practice. Then, suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a flash of colour. She turned back around and looked in the direction of the colour.
Way across the area, stuffed in the corner of the farthest inch of the room, there was something that looked like tiny eggs. Xenia reached back into her pocket and shuffled her hand around, finally pulling out a small flyer while her more important papers fluttered to the ground. The Great Easter Egg Hunt- student with the most eggs by the end of the week wins., read the flyer. There had to be at least four eggs over there, how had no one seen them before?
She took one step forward to go collect the eggs, and then remembered where she was. At least ten students and mentors were blocking her path to the eggs. They were all doing something dangerous, whether breathing fire or smashing into huge test dummies, there wasn't any room to walk without being in the danger zone.
Xenia sighed, stuffing the flyer back into her pocket, her schedule forgotten on the floor. It was going to take more effort than she had wanted to expend, but she was going to have those eggs for her own.
Tellios moves almost as a Digital Shadow in the school. He moved towards the Power Training room. He held the door's handle as a sharp shock went through his body, his memory banks started to short out for a moment as the sound of the door opening and he saw someone in the room. A female. He saw the eggs. Raising an eyebrow he looked at them.
Humans are weird creatures.
He went to open his mouth. When he heard someone between the teacher and ten students clear their throat. He rubbed his eyes. and sat on the desk, his legs in his nice suit pants crossed over each other and his left elbow on his top knee as he scanned the room. He began to scan the room.
These guys seemed a lot less powerful than they looked as he smiled. He shook his head slightly as he looked at the girl who had entered the room before him. He rubbed his chin as he was going and then started to look at the class again. Looking at the ground he noticed a schedule and grabbed it getting up from the table. He took a quick look at one of the top corners. Noticing the girls name. He handed it over.
"You know Xenia. You shouldn't lose things till you remember your courses." He said looking at the group still. Each of them fighting something as he start to gather information on timings of what they were doing.
He moved slightly closer to it all and looked from left to right then at the ceiling. He made notes inside his head of using the ceiling as a possibility, Then escape through the window, blowing his one off for the day.
"Easter Egg hunt huh... This school is full of surprises."
He gave it some thought. He could just go home and try some new alcohol. He wouldn't get drunk, but it's tasty.
Xenia was startled when she heard a voice from beside her. She had been so focused on the eggs that she hadn't heard him enter the room. She looked down at his hands and saw her schedule. When had that fallen out of her pocket? She nodded in thanks to him and pocketed the papers again, this time, making sure to fold them once or twice so they'd be less likely to fall out. Then, she heard him speak again.
"Easter Egg hunt huh... This school is full of surprises."
He must have seen! He must know! She narrowed her eyes and shot a sharp glace across the room again, checking to see if the eggs were still there. They were, of course. Everyone else seemed to be too focused on their lesson to notice the eggs, which Xenia found hilarious. How could anybody be more focused on school work than chocolate?
However, that was not the issue at hand. This boy had just walked up to her, taken her schedule, read her name, and was now about to steal her eggs! There was no way she could allow this. She contemplated just using her speed to jolt across that room as fast as she could and snatching the eggs up, but there was no doubt she be hit by some kind of wild attack. And even if she wasn't, the only way out of the room that she could see was the door, which the boy was completely blocking.
She would have to be smarter with her plan of attack. She would have to play mind game! Win over the competition with pure spirit! Unfortunately, she had absolutely no people skills and not the slightest clue how to play mind games. She thought she might try reverse psychology.
"Yeah," she said. "Who cares about that dumb Easter Egg hunt anyway."
Tellios rubbed his chin a bit as he looked at the windows, they were on the first floor, just a little bit over the outside so he walked over to the window and opened it, he jumped over and holding onto the side he began to move his way across slowly but surely,one hand after another as he was going, he had shut off his audio receptions so he wouldn't be bugged by noise as he was moving. He kept moving, step by step hand by hand.
It took him some time but he got the the other side and placed a hand on the other unlatched window on the other side.
"Bloody thing- OPEN" He says while uses some force pushing it to the side. It moved enough that he could slip his fingers in and he moved it just enough to move it fully as he opened it Miralis closed the window and latched the window in almost one fluent motion.
"This chocolate must be good that going around worked better than going throu-" he stopped for a moment and then said. "I can't eat chocolate...
That sudden realization that he can't eat chocolate kind made this whole thing a buzz kill, yet he still did it for some reason, he wasn't sure what it was yet. he blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes.
"God Damnit.. He says look at the chocolate eggs. Xenia can see this contemplation from the other side of the room. "I did this. And Remembered. I. Can't. Eat. Chocolate."
Xenia stood dumbfounded as she watched her nemesis hop out the window, zoom around the building and come out on the other end. He smoothly bent over and grabbed the eggs. He had ignored her completely and stolen her prize! She felt her rage build up inside her and she shouted as loudly as she could across the room
"EXCUSE YOU, MISTER! I SAW THEM FIRST!!"
She suddenly became aware that everyone in the room had stopped and was staring at her, the man, and back at her again. A few of them seemed to be complaining about the eggs he had found, and how they should have noticed the eggs first, but most of them just stared blankly at Xenia. She felt her face heat up and took the opportunity to run across the room as slowly as she possibly could, hoping that it looked like a normal person's running speed. She didn't need to attract any more attention than was already on her.
By the time she reached the other side of the room, most of the students had already re-assumed their training, and Xenia to whisper angrily at the egg thief.
"You give those to me right now!" she whispered quickly at him. " You know I saw those first and you took them anyway!
Tellios blinked a few times looking at the eggs that were in his hands. He sighed as he put them behind his back.
"Well if you are going to be like that.. I can't eat em and was going to give them to you anyways.. But you're here now." He said in an odd way, he was trying to NOT get hit and be a smart ass at the same time.
Though he wasn't lying, when he got back to the other side he was going to hand them over to her since he can't eat chocolate. Ever since she got demanding of it he was curious if he should do something about the eggs. Unlatch the window and toss them? See what happens? Or try and eat them and watch him overload later? OR just give them to the girl anyways.
He smirks a bit a says.
"Well, IF I give you these, would you be willing to get a coff-... Te-... A beverage with me sometime?" He was trying to get to know her a bit better. As in to get to knew her as friend, he didn't fully understand social norms so he thought he would try to mend things by MAYBE giving the eggs to her and then take her for some kind of drink.
He was trying to make a few friends a long the way. Whats a harmless outing going to do? His smirk turned into a smile as he asked. He was having a little bit of fun with this once. He was probably going to give them to her regardless, but he just wanted to see if anything good could come out of it beside him realizing he wasn't going to see her again. She seemed nice enough, but only one way to find out.
Xenia's rage was cut short by the boy's sudden proposition. She was shocked, to say the least. She wanted the eggs, of course, but was it worth it? She's have to SEE this egg thief again. He seemed so smooth about it too, smirking at her like he had been in control of the conversation the whole time. He didn't even know anything about her! Well, besides her name, her power, and whatever else had been listed on her schedule. It was more her that she knew nothing about him.
"How dare you!" She crossed her arms. "How can you even ask a lady out on a date without even introducing yourself!"
Was it a date? Did she even want to go out on a date? Well, she should be focusing on making friends. She had to meet some of the people here eventually. This boy seemed to be rather smart, and he definitely had an aura of confidence about him. But still, she couldn't believe this Egg Thief had just waltzed right into the room, ignored her (admittedly feeble) mind games, and walked circles around her in a competition she hadn't known existed until a few minutes ago.
She continued to peek at him out of the corner of her eye as she waited for a reply. She would at least consider his crazy proposition, she decided.
A date? He ran a quick check in his head about 'Dates'.
Fruit
A day on a calender
A form of courtship involving to people.
He spent a little while trying to keep his cool. She was wigging out and it was starting to get it Tellos slightly.
He blinked a few times and rubbed his head with his freehand. He sighed. She was right, he didn't say anything about his name, but he learned hers though. He wasn't expecting chocolate to be the eggs at all. Just Eggs he could take and get away, but upon closer examination it was chocolate. The only thing to do with chocolate was giving it to someone else.
"Errr.. a.. Date? I mean.. Maybe in the future, but I was thinking more of an outing. I'm Tellios. It's a pleasure." After he promptly said. "But a date does sound.. Nice."
He said after with a big smile on his face. He wasn't sure on what to do for a date, since he had never been on one before as he was always busy as well as other things. He held the eggs out.
"Take em if you want em. If you do not want to go out for a friendly drink you don't have to. Just thought it would be a nice way to get to know someone."
Xenia blushed. She was rather taken aback by the offer that the Egg Thief, or - Tellios - had made. It wasn't really a date he was talking about, he just wanted to be her friend. That she could do. She wanted to make friends anyway. Hopefully powerful ones to protect her in case something bad happened, or ones with working video game consoles that she could leech off of, but friends nonetheless.
Besides, going out somewhere sounded nice. She had already decided long ago to skip her class, and she hadn't really visited much of the island yet since her arrival. She could see the town from her window in her dorm, and it looked rather nice. Maybe if she could manage to communicate this to her new friend, he'd still be willing to go out for a drink some time. She unfolded her arms and looked at him with a smile.
"Oh, ah, yeah. Maybe we could go do something together." She desperately tried to rummage through all of her useless thoughts and say the right thing. She was never much good at making friends. "I don't know if you've been to town much yet, but I know I haven't. I hear there's a cafe not to far from the town that people have been talking about, if you want to grab a bite to eat. I know you're allergic to chocolate, but, I'm sure they have some other stuff to eat, if you're interested."
Blushing, That's a.. Good sign right? He gave it some thought, yeah, good sign. I hope.
He smiled at her fractiousness her trying to say something. It was.. Kind of cute to Tellios, he had never experienced anything like this in his life. It was new, it was great. He rubbed his chin.
"Well not allergic to chocolate, it's... more of a me issue. I just can't eat it, but I would like that." He wanted to try to explain but he felt that it would be too much at once and just be used for a few things. "A cafe sounds nice. Thank you Xenia. I do believe at this point a complement is in order. You look.. Captivating."
He said with a smile. He looked at the class that was still fighting and he unlatched the window again. He rubbed his chin and noted that the class had taken a break and Tellios opened the window and perched on it for a moment and waved at Xenia.
"Well Uhh.. Do you want to meet at the main gates of the school in a few moments? I just got one little thing to take care of." He said with a smile on his face, he wanted to do this. It was a great thing. Tellios was making a friend that was of the opposite sex than he was built to be.
He then jumped out of the classroom and landed on the ground, the dust that kicked up didn't phase him and he went from nice dress clothes to shots and a black shit as he briskly walked to the dorms to grab something.
