Havoc had taken up position near the entrance to the school, a stack of fliers in hand. Most were his, although a few were those of his roommate Nix. He was doing his best to hand things out evenly, although he wasn't quite accurate.

The election was in full swing, the very last day, and Havoc was already almost out of fliers. The school was littered with them, the buses were unloading the last trip of the day, and Havoc was, to say the least, exhausted. He had no supernatural ability to keep things up. He could only do what a normal human could do, and what a normal human could do was significantly less then what Havoc had already done.

He was tired, and he'd given up on trying to smile as he methodically handed out posters.

Felix parked his car at the parking lot and was immediately met by posters at the wall. Upon closer inspection, they seemed to be for student council. How interesting.

First day back to school... and there was already something going on! He could remember his time back in High School, being in the council for a few years. The Council seemed like the entire world at the time. (Was dismissing stuff like this a sign of getting older? Probably!)

There was a person at the entrance, looking like he was handing out fliers. Was this one of the runners? Felix tucked his hair behind his ear and smiled at him, giving a small wave. "Hi! What's those fliers for?"

Havoc glanced up when Felix spoke, making the exact wrong snap assumption. He'd met several people Felix's age floating around the school, the trick was that they'd all been teachers.

So he simply assumed that he was a teacher.

"Student council fliers," Havoc clarified. "I'll be running for president."

That wasn't to say he wasn't going to try and campaign just because they were a teacher. Far from it--teachers could be excellent allies, after all, even if they couldn't directly vote. Havoc gave them a brief nod and a small wave of his own with his free hand.

"I go by Havoc. My campaigns focus is on ensuring students get the chance to learn self defense techniques, and for ensuring that all grade levels have some representation on council."

Both of which were fairly unique points. Other people had more general campaign points--student outreach, discrimination--but none had picked up the banner of student safety the way he had.

Felix was talking to a student council president candidate! And he could vote for him. He felt giddy about that. He didn't think he'd get as invested with these things as them, but the realization that these were things he could participate in felt exciting.

"Oh!" He laughed. "I see, I see. Sorry, I'm not as familiar with these things. I just enrolled for med school last week, I didn't think there'd be these sorts of events my first day. Good to meet you, Havoc. Felix Verma." He offered him a handshake.

"That's interesting. You mean you're gonna have self-defense classes available? How is that different from going the extra-curricular clubs, considering they're already accessible?" Felix looked at the flier. "As for the last one... do you mean something like class representatives?"

A new student? That was fairly ideal, all things considered. Felix hadn't heard any of the speeches, and didn't know any of the candidates. If Havoc left him with a good first impression, he was all but gaurenteed the vote.

"Student clubs have a limited budget," Havoc explained. "For proper classes, you would need money to pay instructors, which would generally be out of the scope for a club. Ideally I want proper lessons, rather than student-lead activities, that would require a budget that wouldn't be available if I wasn't on council."

Not that Havoc needed the lessons, but he didn't bring that up.

"I want students to have the option to attend good self defense classes regardless of their financial situation."

That was the one of his points that he was passionate about, while he was slightly less so on representation.

"I'm still working out the details," he began, thinking pointedly of Emily Kirkpatrick. "Something along the lines of there being a student representative. While elementary students can run in the elections, they tend to do poorly because they're inexperienced, meaning that their voices and issues aren't heard."

Felix listened to his explanation, all glittery eyed. That youth! That initiative! Well, Havoc wasn't enthusiastic outwardly, but he was sure he just wasn't expressive. He wouldn't be gunning for president otherwise, right?

"Oh, I see... That's smart! Instructors... I like that, and I'd like for that to be accessible to everybody, yes. You know, especially with all this talk of criminals preying on students. Have you heard about that? A student disappearing lately? It's just awful. Maybe if they had a way to defend themselves..." He stopped, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry, that's a bit morbid. Still getting used to this stuff. I was a cop before, so we tend to talk about those things pretty openly."

Felix nodded at his next point. "Right. That's all good. Do you have anything else? What makes you different? Why do you think I should vote for you over the other candidates?"

Havoc was a soldier, and he'd see people die before, so a brief mention about students disappearing didn't even rate on his morbid meter.

Not that he found anything particularly morbid.

"The disappearance of the cheerleader was one of the things that pushed me to make it my platform," Havoc clarified. "There's no way to know for certain if it would have helped her, but if nothing else knowing self defense will help make people more aware. Self defense is more than combat--it's also awareness, and learning to read a situation."

Things he felt passionate about, even if it would barely rate on most people's interests.

"I'm a member of the army," Havoc added after Felix mentioned having been a cop. "So this is all second nature."

First nature, if he was being completely honest, but the phrase didn't quite work the same. It did serve as a nice segue into Felix's question, however.

"I come from a professional background with a pre-existing focus on security," Havoc said. "Which none of the other candidates have. While all the campaigns have their good points, I feel that security is the one that's the most pressing at the moment."

Very... intimidating. Havoc had the assurance of a man that knew what exactly he was talking about. Felix tilted his head as he listened, nodding along to it.

"Yeah. That's right. The bad killers act like animals, the good ones know how to sneak around or lure them in. People think bad things would never happen to them by default so they get into bad situations easily."

Felix smiled at Havoc mentioning he was from the army. He didn't normally trust military. He was aware of the abuses that went on when people served in the army. That didn't mean he should be so quick to label Havoc a bad person. "You know, I was thinking you were something like that. The scars, your posture, and the way you talk. You have the demeanor of a soldier. It's very obvious."

Felix nodded. "Security isn't very glamorous, but it's definitely something people have been neglecting recently. Good on you. Are you doing very well in your campaign so far?"

Generally speaking, Havoc made no secret of the fact that he was a soldier. He didn't even consider himself a former soldier. He was just a soldier, nothing former about it. He still hoped to return to the military, even if that possibility seemed to be shrinking ever so slowly.

"I'll take that as a compliment," Havoc said in response to him being obviously a soldier. He felt a soldier was a good thing--not a glamorous job by any means, but something worthy of respect anyway. It was hard work, and required a certain level of discipline that many people didn't have.

"I've been told that it's a close race between myself and another student, yes," Havoc said. "Which means that either way, I'd be likely to be in a position to establish after school self defense classes."

A compliment? It was more of a casual observation, but if he took pride in that, then good for him!

Felix gave him a warm smile. Maybe after he got settled in, he'd go ahead and vote for Havoc, get into the swing of things again. Havoc wasn't very glamorous as a candidate, but he was serious about his platforms and it was something the school sorely needed right then. "Good luck to you, then. Thanks for speaking with me~ I'll think about what we talked about and read up on..." He waved his flier.

He looked around. "One more thing, can you point me to the Administrations Office? I haven't been there in nearly two decades, and they do so much renovating here!"
