Emiliano strode out into the streets, heading for his secret little underground cave. He decided quickly that he was better off having a shop in the underground — the shops and people here were far too ... Perky and wholesome. He didn't think they would take to it well if they knew he was a smuggler and pirate. Though, he'd gladly pillage some of these uppity girls. They had their heads too far up their asses to notice, though. Sure, he'd gotten plenty of stares from both girls and boys, but he was too preoccupied to notice.

Emilio had been in an out of fish and aquarium stores, looking for the perfect decorations for his newest prize. He needed his main tank to be absolutely perfect before he tried to sell that wretched merboy. He wanted a tiny school of those weird glittery fish to accent Leonardo's stunning colours, and he wanted that cool tiny seaweeds, and the funny looking ghost shrimps. Of course, all of this would take an eternity to collect, and Emilio was beginning to balk at all the work that had to go into the perfect tank. Pausing outside a tiny coffee stand, Emilio grabbed a cup and sat on a small bench, his eyes closed as he tried to think of what else he needed to get for Leonardo.

Sighing lightly as she walked aimlessly throughout the newly found downtown, Orlena was amazed at the vast size of the island. As she had never found the time to do so before, as she looked and studied all of the new places, it excited her even more that she had found this place. Out of pure luck she had found this place, as finding hadn't have even been intended in the first place. Looking down at her feet, to her left walked her white fox spirit, Gia. Looking down at her, she remembered when she had tried to summon a naked mole rat, which she was now glad she hadn't sucessed in doing. Smiling a bit at the animal, it made a groaning sound that echoed in her mind. Rolling her eyes I'm the opposite direction and laughing a tiny bit, her eyes trailed into a coffee stand. She had always been fond of coffee, even though she remembered as a girl she had hated the taste and even smell of the once strange beverage. Taking a moment and buying one for herself, she wanted to see how this coffee compared to the stuff she had been used too back home. As she grabbed it, she turned around to see a bench, that to her surprise was almost completely empty. Only one person sat on in. As she approached the unknown person she politely asked him a question. "Excuse me sir, may I sit on this bench with you?"

As he sipped his coffee, the scent of a chai latte met his nose, and he wrinkled his forehead, a little accosted by the unfamiliar scent. He preferred the rich, bitter scent of coffee, not that sissy drink babies ordered. Giving a faint sigh and rolling his eyes, Emiliano leaned back on the bench, appraising the people that walked by. He thought he could recognise a few of these people as his customers, but he couldn't be sure when everyone was walking so fast. Judging by his career, Emilio didn't think any of his regulars would be too keen on being recongised by a pirate, in any case.

Casting his eyes skyward for a moment, Emilio was taken by surprise when an unfamiliar voice asked if they could sit with him. In a heavy spaniard accent, roughened by years on the sea, "Aye? I guess you can sit." Emilio shrugged his shoulders, not particularly caring who or what sat with him, prompting a third eye roll. Why were people so keen on being polite in these parts? It's not like one couldn't just get up and move to a new bench if they were feeling uncomfortable. Whiny uppity fucks.
It hit him then, that he had been called sir. Giving an open laugh, Emilio flashed his teeth at the stranger. "I haven't been called sir in all my years. Who are you, saladeira?"

"Thank you." She stated boldly, not wanting to think that she didn't appreciate that she had said yes. Before she sat down, she gave Gia the chance to sit on the bench. Blinking a few times before sitting down next to the strange man, she looked in his direction, as it seemed that he had reacted to what she had said. By laughing. Had it been rude or weird of her to call him by sir? Was there some rule that it wasn't allowed on the island? She really had no idea at that moment, so she asked. " Is it bad to call you sir. sir?" Thinking for a moment on his comment, she didn't quite who as to what he had been talking about after that. "What is a, saladeira?" She asked cautiously as she did not know what the word meant.

"I am no sir. I am a pirate." He had been called many things, incredible things, but in all his years, Emiliano could not ever remember being called sir. In a way, it was a little offensive. Sir inferred that the man was respectable and on the right side of the law. He had given up that life years ago. Probably right around when he was born he became a pirate.

"Ah, mami, meu saladeira." He loved pet names, he absolutely loved using random Portuguese words and adapting them as pet names. Most of the English girls accepted them without a second thought, assuming they were some synonym for beautiful seductress or something. This one, however, had to press the issue by asking what it meant. Ungrateful. "Salad bowl. What bring you here on a nice cold day?"

Looking at him as he corrected her, she wouldn't have taken him for the pirate type, or a pirate in general. She had heard tales of them from her vast collection of books back at her old home, but had never thought they existed, or that she would find one on this island. Blinking a few ties, she felt pretty stupid that she had called him sir. It wasn't like she would have had any idea though, it wasn't like he exactly looked as she thought they would have in real life. But at the same time, he was a human and the drawings and descriptions weren't. As he talked once more, she wasn't sure what to say to what he had said, It wasn't English, but it did feature the same word he had used before for some reason. Maybe he could speck more than one language? Orlena sometimes wished that she had that ability. As Gia decided to move to her right shoulder besides of sitting on the bench, she once again waited to see if he was finished. A few seconds later, he continued, though this also made little sense to her. Had he called her a salad bowl? Or was he just saying that because he could? There was more to it, as he had also asked why she was there. "I am new to island and I decide that today was a good day to explore the area I had not already."[/color] Pausing for a second, she made her to look at him. "And how about yourself?"

Taking another swig of his coffee, Emiliano closed his eyes against the bitter taste that lingered on his tongue. He enjoyed it, and in the back of his mind, he wondered if perhaps Leo would enjoy coffee. Probably not, though, the boy seemed more like he would be a tea drinker. Tea and sweets, rather than coffee and ... Whatever went well with coffee. Adult food.

"Sim? I've recently come on my ship." He was still struggling to integrate his mind back into speaking English, after so long of speaking Portuguese with Leonardo. His heavy accent still lingered, thick and very Spanish. There it was again, those stupid little thoughts that invaded his mind. In the best of times, he just couldn't seem to stop thinking about the irritating little merboy. Now that he said that, though, he really needed to go find a suitable supply of lobsters, as well as recipes and different ways to cook them. "I am ... I run my own company..." Emilio flashed a wicked smile at the girl, the undertones hinting at something more illicit than just a 'shipping company.' "You work?"

As he confused to talk, it seemed that her prediction of him speaking more than one language was right. Blinking a few times, she took her hand and petted the top of Gia's head as she continued to listen to him. Apparently he had a ship, which seemed amazing to her. Orlena wondered if it was just him on the ship, or if he had a crew that ships were supposed to have. The though intrigued her greatly. As he continued to talk, it seemed that he had his own business, though the grin he gave her made her feel a bit weird as she still stared at him. "That sounds good." Being able to have your own company been like something that would be rewarding as well as fun, considering that in that situation he wasn't workinng for anyone else. "No, I've never worked." She stated to the boy. Orlena had never really considered the thought of having a job, as she had been so used to getting everything she wanted. As she thought though, it becsme more aware that she too needed to get a job soon. Wanting to keep conversation, she asked about his ship. "Do you have a crew of people on your ship?"
