The new boy, Steven, seemed to ignore her completely instead extending his hand to Victor and introducing himself. Why on earth he thought he was called Castle... unless that was the name he had put on the note, perhaps to preserve his identity. Seemed a little silly, he was only being helpful so Elizabeth saw no logical reason for him to do that. As she was thinking she noticed that Steven had turned to stare at her but before she could snap at him Victor revealed that he had looked at both of their student ID's and then showed them his own. Elizabeth looked slightly shocked at this, clearly he'd stopped time again. "Don't you think that's a little intrusive! I don't care if you struggle with names you could have just asked!" Then she turned to Steven, who was still staring at her.
"I suppose you're wondering how I knew it was him that gave you the book. Well, I saw him watching you when you walked in. You were clearly new so attracted more attention than most people would have. Then he could tell you were struggling with the book. A little after that, you had a new book at he was staring more than he was before. So, I guessed he'd given you it. I just didn't know how at the time. I would have guessed super speed myself."

He hadn't realised that he could have asked. Thinking about it now, it would have been better to have done that. Now he looked like a thief.

"Ahh, um." He tried to explain himself. But he couldn't, and just sighed.

She was observant, that was for sure. But there was something about her, it made him feel a bit self-conscious. How long had she been at this school?

Eager to know a bit more about her, he tried to strike up a topic that wasn't quite so much about him. "So... um, Elizabeth, do you know any detectives?"

God, he was hopeless.

Steven was shocked when Victor revealed that he could stop time, and went on to prove the fact after admitting to searching them and looking at their ID. Steven supposed that the man could be lying and instead could read mind or something, but that didn't explain the appearing book. Though Victor did explain that name he had put on note wasn't actually his, but it was easy to see that he just taken part of his surname for it. Steven didn't know if he should be as displeased as Elizabeth was. The guy had helped him after all, so Steven let the intrustion slide without comment seeing as the girl had done so.

"So he was staring at me, but you were at him then." Steven said in respone to Elizabeth explination about how she had know Victor had given him the book. Some decent deductive reason, that was on the border of jumping to conclusion. Either way it had seemed she was right, and that Victor saw fit to ask her if she knew any detectives. "Worried she might report you for invasion of privacy?" Steven said with mirth to his tone to make it clear the comment wasn't serious, but instead in jest.

"Well a pleasure to meet you both. As strange as it all is to me." Steven gave a nod to the pair of them. His words did make it clear, that he was as new as they both had already realised. Being able to stop time sounded like a much better power then his own.

He didn't help himself, in fact, he might have made himself seem even worse. At least he thought so, not realizing Steven was joking.

"Oh, no, sorry, she just seemed like she knew what she was doing. I thought maybe she had training or something." Victor said, putting his hands up defensively. "Nice to meet you both as well, though it could have been under better circumstances."

After what she supposed was a impressive speech to some people about she had found out about the book, she had turned back to Victor to say something but heard Stephen speak first and turned back around.
"I was not staring at him," Elizabeth replied defensively. "I noticed you when you walked in and then I saw him staring at you which is when I put my book down because I wanted to know why he seemed so bothered by you. The eye is naturally drawn to movement in an otherwise still environment"
In the time she was replying she noticed that Victor seemed somewhat uncomfortable. His question seemed a little odd as well.
"I don't know any particularly well but I did work with some of the FBI, including my father, for a while. I doubt they'd let me speak to them now that my fathers dead though. I have no clearance to know anything without him I suppose."
Stephen seemed rather amused by this and Elizabeth found herself slightly amused by his joking comment. Victor however just seemed to get more nervous.
"Hm. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about meeting the two of you yet but I agree that there could have been better circumstances." There was a moment of pause before she made another attempt at polite conversation.
"So, Stephen, what are your powers then. You're here for a reason."

Steven had been a little shocked by the defensive tone his comments made made Elizabeth reply with a first. Only to be further suprised, when Victor's logical deduction about her having interacted with those of a detective mind set proved true, when Elizabeth explain she used to work alongside her father with the FBI. He was pretty amazed by that, as she was here in the school which must have ment she was only slightly older or younger then himself. Not really at an age to be working with the FBI even with the relation.

Steven let that topic slide though, as she mentioned her father's death and didn't want to be insensative and push on the topic. Instead focusing on the question she asked him. "Cyro and Pyrokinesis, and their logical combined applications." He anwsered not seeing a reason to refuse to anwser as Victor had already revealed his, and he supposed if one of them had, the other doing so was fair at least. "Yourself?" He asked in return.

"So you control both ice and fire?" Victor nodded his head in awe." That's actually pretty cool." No pun intended.

He felt a little joy at his hunch being correct, but their comments preceding it killed his mood. It was interesting how Elizabeth knew someone in the FBI personally, even if it was temporary.

It would be interesting to learn what her abilities were, though, no doubt they had to mind-related, judging from her intelligence. But that itself left thousands of possibilities. Telepathy? Psychokinesis?

She nodded in reply to hearing Stevens powers. "Quite useful, I imagine. In the right situation. I myself have the power of mindshifting. It allows me complete control over my mind and emotions etc. I also have an eidetic memory. They are quite a useful combination. "
There was a moment's pause before, again Elizabeth forced herself to make conversation "so," she said, gesturing to Steven. "You're new, but how long have you been here Victor?"

Steven gave Victor a small nod in return to his comment about Steven's powers. While no pun had been intended he couldn't help the smallest smile forming on his lips in amusement at the comment. The powers he had did lend themselves towards simple but light hearted word play. Steven was simply too hot to handle, too cold to hold. He though to himself, not exactly remebering where he had that line before but thinking it was likely a song he had heard.

Steven thoughs of word play were ended quickly as Elizabeth started to explain her powers. Making Steven feel a fraction of jealousy. His power did effect his emotion when used, and he could exploit that to an extent but no one would think to call it control over them more aggravating or supressing them. He couldn't help but wonder how exactly it would have worked. If she faced something distressing would she insticntively control it, or did she have to have enough motiviation to activate the power in order to do so. It was an incredibly interesting power to think about, which made her photograpthic memory sound mundane in comparison.

Steven stayed silent though, as she after explaining ask Victor a direct question and Steven wasn't the sort to speak over someone while they tried to awnser.

Elizabeth looked between the two, neither of them seemed to want to talk. She realised that she had perhaps made them... uncomfortable maybe? She seemed to do that a lot simply through the was she just said exactly what she thought. Sighing, Elizabeth looked at her watch and decided to make an excuse to leave. "Oh, it's time i got going to my lessons again. Nice to meet you both, I suppose." Elizabeth nodded her goodbyes and walked out of the library.
