Dressed in a pair of shorts and a blue tee shirt, Alby was out for a light jog. He usually had no problem getting himself to go out and run, but the past few days had been difficult. He'd been waiting forever to get to the island and was finally able to go check out all the insane supernatural beings just living it up all over the place. Keeping up his routine jog meant taking time away from that. Fortunately, he was able to convince himself to go anyway thanks to the idea that he was covering more ground and getting to know the various locations on the island faster.

He was just getting close to a lake when a large shadow appeared around him and quickly continued forward. Alby quickly turned his head up to see what looked like a dragon. He was aware they existed at this point, but had never seen one before. He came to an immediate halt and stood there marveling it as it slowed down a little ways in the distance, landing shortly after. As it disappeared behind some trees up ahead, Alby snapped back to reality. He had to go see it. It was probably safe right? Even if it wasn't, it was a dragon, how could he not go see it. He picked up his run once again, bolting much faster than before as he made his way to the location of the dragon. Except, there was no dragon.

He darted his head around frantically, searching for the creature, but all he found was some random guy further up. Perhaps he knew where the dragon went. Alby ran up to him, shouting before he even got there. "Heeyy!" Once he got close, he slowed and started panting. "Have you" pant "seen" pant "A dragon around here anywhere?"

He was pretty tired, he hadn't ever sprinted that quickly before.

The dragon would land, shifting to his human form, stretching and letting out a yawn. His growth spurt was still continuing, it was making him ache a bit, but he was enjoying the increased strength. He'd raise an eyebrow at the boy running up to him, asking about a dragon.

Eein considered just telling him, but he decided he was in a sarcastic mood. "Dragon?" he'd ask, "what dragon?" there was a bit of sarcasm in his voice as he spoke. "Sure you're not seeing things?" he'd ask with a snort and another yawn.

"Whatcha want with the dragon?" he'd ask, genuinely curious about what he wanted with him. "You act...newish? But most newcomers won't just try and run up to a dragon."

"What?" Alby was in complete disbelief. "Seriously, you didn't see it. It just flew over here, it should've landed somewhere near here." Though, if this stranger hadn't seen it, then he must've been wrong. "I swear I'm not seeing things, it was real." He turned his head to look to his left then right, still trying to figure out where it might've gone.

"I just wanted to see it I suppose. I've never seen one before" He seemed preoccupied as he spoke, still looking around before focusing his eyes back on the stranger. "Are dragons dangerous?" Alby was really just curious, honestly, he would've still chased the dragon even if it was. "And yeah, I only just got here two days ago." He put his hand up into a peace sign as he said two. "I'm Alby, sucks I couldn't find the dragon, but uh, nice to meet you at least."

"Maybe you were hallucinating," he'd yawn a little, "maybe you wanted to see a dragon so bad that your mind tricked you into thinking you saw one." He didn't intend to lead this guy on for long, but it was kind of funny.

Eein would shrug. "I mean....most would find giant supernatural reptiles dangerous in one way or another." He'd tilt his head, "I mean, doesn't the thought that it could literally eat you make you hesitate at all?"

This odd boy was certainly different than most newcomers. "My name is Eein," he'd say simply, sprouting a claw and using it to quickly pick something from his teeth. "You seem like a curious one."

"I, uh" Wait was that true? Alby thought about it for a moment. He did really want to see a dragon, but he always wanted to see a lot of neat stuff and he'd never hallucinated in the past. "I'm pretty sure it was real." As sure as he was, one could easily tell that it wasn't one hundred percent surety anymore.

"Well, I guess I could see why people might be afraid, but," He wore a look of childish fascination and glee, speaking as if he was defending his favourite food. "we're talking about a dragon!" He calmed himself as he saw the other's point of view. "I'm guessing you aren't so new, you're probably not so excited because you've already seen one. But me? Closest thing I've ever seen is a stack of bones at a fossil museum."

When Eein randomly sprouted a claw, Alby lost it.

"Oh.. my... gosh!" He took a step closer, possibly invading Eein's personal space. "How did you do that? What are you? Are you some sort of shape shifter? Why didn;t you say so?" Alby was shaking, filled to the brim with excitement and wonder.

"Think about it," he'd say, stretching a little, "you want to see something so bad that you're mind tricks you into thinking you've seen it." He was honestly surprised this was so easy, he wasn't going to do this for long, but it was at least slightly amusing.

"Stack of bones?" he'd snort, "there are actually a few dinosaurs running around here too." He'd seen a few dinosaur shifters and a few non shifting ones that just happened to be sapient. "So you might see some living ones."

Eein would tilt his head. "Well....remember that dragon you saw," he decided it was time to drop the game, "that was kinda me."

Actual living breathing dinosaurs! Just the thought of it had him bursting at the seams with excitement. He had so many questions, but figured it would be best to save those for when he ran into one. He imagined they were probably pretty large and wouldn't be the hardest thing to locate. Although, the same could be said about dragons and that clearly wasn't the case.

Upon the great reveal, a flood of realization shook through Alby's mind, causing him to freeze for just a moment as his eyes widened to impossible lengths. "Eh?! Ungh?! Bu?! Heh?!" His thoughts weren't able to form into proper words or actions, resulting in nonsense mixed with shaky pointing.

After another few seconds, Alby finally managed to collect himself enough to give at least somewhat understandable questions. "Why did you?! Well, how did?! You can change form into a human looking thing?! Can all dragons?! Can you become a dragon right now?! Or take a dragon form?! And you can just do part?!" It was too much, a dragon. Especially the circumstances in which they revealed themselves. He wasn't able to think right with all the excitement running rampant through his veins.

"Why not? Shifting. Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes," he'd answer all of the somewhat broken questions casually, keeping up with it all with relative ease. "I've never met a dragon would couldn't take human form," he'd shrug, "I assume its something we developed once mankind started to turn on the supernatural, and now its just a useful ability, everything is built around the human form."

He'd sniff the air a little and looked Alby over a little. "Eh, just watch," stepping back he'd shift into his dragon form, staying at ten feet tall, his tail swaying a bit behind him. Alby would be able to see a patch of fur just behind one of his front legs, and small fluffy feathers forming at the bottom of his wings, things Eein hadnt even noticed yet.

"You have my permission to bask in my glory," he'd say jokingly, stretching his wings and tail a bit. "Remember, I charge for pictures," he'd continue to joke, leaning his chin on one of his hands.

That was a ton of useful information all at once, Alby was shocked that the dragon managed to answer all of his questions so nonchalantly. Though not nearly as shocked as he was that there was a dragon in front of him. This was some sort of dream, but it felt real. Alby pinched himself on the back of the leg without taking his eyes away from Eein. Content to find that he didn't randomly awake from his bed.

When Eein told him to watch, he backed up, unsure of what was about to happen, but completely invested in it. Sure enough, he transformed into the dragon Ably had seen just moments earlier.

Alby threw his hands over his mouth, internally freaking out about how close he was standing to a dragon. He stayed frozen like this for several seconds before breaking down in tears.

"You're so beautiful" His face was a broken mix of emotions, as if he'd just won first prize at a world famous talent show. "Thank you so much."

Upon hearing that there was a charge for pictures, Alby was thankful that he'd been reminded to take a picture at all. With a sniffle, he started desperately digging through his pockets. He had his phone, but his wallet was back in his room. The realization of this crushed him. He was going to have no picture to remember this insane moment with.

With a completely serious face, he looked Eein up in the eyes. "I, I don't have any money with me, is there any way I could pay you back or get you to wait while I go get some?" His tone made it sound like this was life or death.

He'd blink a few times and then squint down at the boy. "You believe about everything you're told aren't you?" he'd snort, "I'm not gonna take your money." He'd scratch at one of his cheeks, "just take a few pictures if you want, just don't overdo it or anything."

Eein's tail would slowly curl around himself as he made himself comfortable. "Just remember, no posting where the normies can see them....though I hear the MC internet keeps that from happening anyways," he hadn't talked to many newcomers much.

"So, what can you do?" he'd ask, leaning down to look at him. "You were brought here, so I'm assuming you have some sort of ability."
