"It's hard to explain," he tapped his chin looking for the proper words, "it's similar to some spells, manipulating magical energies." He grinned a bit, "took me a while to learn what little I can do."

"Well.....depends on your definition of an element," he coughed into a napkin, at least he didn't have to worry about her getting sick. "Mostly fire, ice, earth and wind are the main elements for Earth magic users," though his clan was focused on shadow powers to add to their stealth, a few learned other elements, "but people who study magic often consider shadow and light elements."

He rubbed his throat a bit and popped a cough drop, "I might be able to teach you a bit of it if you want," he smiled a bit, it was a goofy but oddly charming smile, "shadow teleporting is fun."

The explanation still didn't fully make sense to her, but she just gave a small shrug. It's not like she didn't understand Tatsuo at all, just that the idea felt too foreign for her. Maybe it was his vague explanation that confused her, or the circumstances he was explaining this to her in. Shadow and light weren't elements to her, just... something else. She wasn't sure what they could be classified as in terms of magic and powers, since she never really thought too deeply into it. Maybe this was her chance to actually learn though.

"Yeah, that sounds cool. Later though, of course. Teleporting sounds scary though." Lots of oricenta could teleport one way or another, but Remi felt herself lucky she didn't have the ability to do so. "Like, what if you teleport into a wall, or don't teleport yourself completely? I get different rules apply to different people, but it sounds too risky."

Jacob set the chips on the table, showing they were spicy salsa, "we have room fifty five, upstairs." His tail instinctively wrapped around his waist to keep people from getting stepped on, "as you wish my lady," he teased playfully to her own teasings over sleeping arrangements.

He smiled softly, "thank you," he said with true gratitude, "that sounds nice." He opened his drink and took a sip, "don't think I've ever had someone read me to sleep." He had been an orphan all his life, "sounds really nice," he chuckled a bit, "I'm going to owe you big when we get out of here." He had been trying to think of nice things to do for her, "you really are amazing."

He rubbed his chin a bit as he thought of a better explanation, "think of it this way......light and darkness exist everywhere in one way or another." He opened his hand and the area around it darkened a bit, "so it's safe to assume the same could be said for most living beings......I was taught to reach out to that connection to darkness....control it." He looked at her with a small smile, "I know, sounds a little reidiculous."

"It can be scary yea," he remembered his first time teleporting, "it takes practice and training." He coughed into his arm again, the immediate area around him darkening a bit, "what about your powers.....were you born with them, or were you taught them."

"Doesn't sound ridiculous to me," Remi responded, "just confusing." She was most likely never going to truly understand this idea, or at least not enough to learn it herself. She was content with what powers she had anyways. Learning how to enchant items still interested her though.

Learning how to shadow teleport was definitely not on her list though. In fact, any form of teleportation she didn't want to get involved him. "I'd rather just learn something like dimension hopping. Teleportation through portals where I can see where I'm going sounds safer too."

Afterwards she fell into a coughing fit, kneeling over as her joints felt a sudden stabbing pain. She soon recovered though, yet was still dizzy from her illness. Every once in a while she'd cough again, yet try to hold it back, making it seem like she was giggling or having the hiccups instead. "S-Sorry. Anyways, I was born with my powers. Learning more sounds cool but, eh, I feel like I have enough as it is, y'know?"

While Crysta was happily picking out books along the shelves, someone else nearby suddenly shouted and threw their book on the ground. She jumped a bit, startled by the sudden noise. She went to investigate the circumstance, first picking up the slightly burnt book. It was still hot, but that was no concern for her metal fingers.

“You seem distressed,” Crysta stated as she placed the burnt book back down on the table Steven sat at.

“Oh. But with these circumstances it is certainly understandable…” Crysta added as a muttering aside to herself, looking away with a hand to her chin. She nearly forgot that she was here because most everyone was having negative symptoms from this virus, not positive ones like she was experiencing.

"It's bloody infurating, that is what it is." Steven swore, not something he would do very often. However it was somewhat the virus fault as well. With how the illness was making his powers unreliable, it meant that their random fluctuating came with their normal emotional ones. Not a great combination to follow by ending up in such a constricting enviroment as the quarantine was. Sighing after the short outburst, Steven pulled his gaze away from the ceiling down to who had spoken. "Sorry, I just wish this was over already." Steven said looking around. "I had though that an island of such varied mystical and technological prowessed would be able to cure things quickly. It hadn't occured to me that such a mix meant even more complex illnesses." He spoke his mind.

He looked down at the book he had been reading, where Crysta had put it down. Groaning and covering his face with a hand. "I hope whoever set this library up can forgive the damage. It's always a waste see books damaged." Steven said uncovering his face and picking the book up before ending up spacing out again as he examined the severity of the damage the book had suffered.
