A mismatched gaze, green and blue so intrinsically different and yet sharing the same unending warmth, looking this way and that, taking in all the new sights. Tuneless, happy humming interspersed with soft murmurs and the underlying sound of a trunk rolling behind. Alouette allowed herself a small smile as she made her way to the administration building, stifling an amused giggle at the equally excited wind sprite circling around her head energetically.

The little thing could sense it, the changes her enrollment in Starlight Academy would bring, and it reveled in the new opportunities suddenly opening their doors to its summoner.

"Come, Pippy. Father said they would be expecting us at noon, so we mustn't keep them waiting. We'll have time to explore later." Melodic French was whispered, Alouette's soft voice carrying no further than the excitable spirit that had started wandering farther from her. With an aerial dance that managed to convey the small spirit's annoyance, the little ball of light raced back to Alouette, alighting on the petite girl's left shoulder as she continued the trek forward.

Eventually, she came upon the building she was looking for without wasting too much time trying to study every detail about the Academy's beautiful campus. Biting back a relieved sigh, the girl paused before entering, settling her trunk of clothes to the side to run her index finger along the little sprite's head.

"It's about time to go. I can't hold you for much longer, but I promise you can explore with me." She hummed regretfully to the small spirit, offering it a reassuring smile when it gave off an air of upset. Nevertheless, the sprite disappeared in a small shower of sparks. Alouette took a deep breath as the usual odd tugging feeling on her spiritual aura disappeared, the small furrow in her brow that had begun to make itself known smoothing out as her stamina slowly but surely started to replenish; oh, she really couldn't wait until she could manage to hold onto her summons for longer periods of time.

Absently smoothing down the folds of her winter scarf, she regained her grip on the trunk of clothes and finally entered the building, easily locating the administration wing and entering the admissions office. Hopefully, it would be over shortly and Alouette would be able to get some lunch and explore the place that would be her new home away from home.

Victor was exercising his ability to stop time when he found himself by the Admissions office. Being a relatively new student, he decided to get a map, as a few times he found himself lost, and was almost late to class. Being the center of attention was never something he wanted, thus stares from the entire classroom was a nightmare for him.

Feeling a headache starting to form, he thought it was best to stop training, and set time to its normal pace. When he did so, a small explosion of sparkles caught his eye.

Turning his head, he saw it belonged to a girl with light brown hair. having a good memory, he was certain she was a new student, as he had not met someone on this island with a green and blue set of eyes.

He shrugged it off, telling himself that he was reading too much into it. He entered the admissions office after her and waited patiently.

"Hello, I'm here to check in; I'm a new student." She said clearly to the woman behind the front desk that had prompted Alouette to explain what she needed. With an understanding nod, the woman politely prodded Alouette for her information- name, what grade she was to be entering, etc.- as she typed away at her computer. It wasn't long before Alouette's student profile was found, things like her class schedule and details of her dorm assignment being sent to the printer without much trouble. Once that was done, the woman explained a brief but easy-to-follow set of directions to reach the dorm building, where the rest of Alouette's belongings would be waiting for her after their trip from France.

With a bright smile and sincere thanks, Alouette said her goodbyes to the woman, pausing for a moment to gather and organize the various papers she had been given. Once she was ready, she maneuvered her trunk and turned on her heel, proceeding to walk without thought and nearly crashing into the boy about the same height as her that had been waiting patiently behind her.

"Oh! Oh dear, I'm so sorry about that." She exclaimed, her accent thickening slightly in her surprise. Quickly stepping to the side, she offered the stranger a smile- surely he was another student, since he didn't seem old enough to be a member of the staff. Maybe they were around the same age; it was a comforting thing to know someone close in age, particularly soon after arriving to such a new place as the Academy for her.

"Oh!" The girl he was waiting behind had turned sharply and almost collided with him. Thankfully both parties realized before it happened. He stepped to the side. "Sorry."

He looked at her for a moment, noticing her accent. "You are from France, I guess?" He cringed. he sounded like an idiot.

"No, no worries!" Alouette hummed quickly, her smile warming to something that all but radiated amiable kindness. She had to stifle a soft giggle, finding this boy rather adorable, but unwilling to insult his pride if he took her amusement the wrong way. "I am indeed from France! I have lived in the French countryside all my life, so this is a new experience for me."

At that, she gestured around to their surroundings with a light nod, referring to the whole living at the Academy. "My name is Alouette, and as you can see, I've just arrived. What about you?" Her tone was light, not demanding an answer but clearly hopeful to gain a friend in this foreign environment.

So she was from France. Her accent is cute. Victor Thought, Then he felt inclined to share a bit of his backstory. "I'm Australian, This kind of place is new for me too. Oh, and before you ask, not everyone sounds like Crocodile Dundee."

He heard a quiet laugh from her, though mostly hidden. Why did she laugh?

Victor Looked on as she motioned to their environment, as she -Alouette- explained how she was new to the school. Another thing that he was right about.

He remembered why he came here, suddenly, and to not be rude, paused time, grabbed a map off the desk, and unpaused it when he was back in his original position. To Alouette, all she would have seen would be a flicker.

"I'm Victor. Came here at the start of the winter break." He put his left hand on his chest and bowed slightly. He had seen it in a movie once, and it seemed quite cool. A good way to introduce himself.

Alouette offered the boy an empathetic smile, giggling once more at his joke. At least, she hoped it was a joke and not snark, that would be rather awkward. Just before she started fretting over it, however, she blinked as there was an odd flickering, tilting her head as she studied the boy that was, to her eyes, still in front of her. With a mental shrug- she didn't want to push and make him feel uncomfortable, plus, it wasn't really her business so as long as no one was getting hurt-, she watched as he bowed.

She silently squealed to herself. The boy- she reminded herself that his name was Victor- had such nice manners! Visibly, though, all Alouette did was smile brightly at him, blue and green eyes sparkling happily. "Oh, what a gentleman! It's nice to meet you, Victor. I still have to bring my stuff to my dorm room, so do you mind walking with me?"

Just as he noticed that it sounded rude, she laughed at it as a joke. Though it sounded a bit snarkish, Victor never meant for it to sound that way, he was just clumsy with his words. He decided to leave it as a joke before it became a bad scene.

She didn't, but fortunately his 'flickering' (stopping time) caught her attention, and she shrugged both off, and Victor internally thanked her for that. It would have been awkward.
As he bowed, he heard something, though it was a bit faint. He decided to ignore it unless he heard it again.

When she smiled at him, he looked at her eyes, one blue and one green. Heterochromia, if he remembered correctly. it just made them different colors, not sparkle. Was she that happy with him? "Thank you for that compliment, but I'm not that much of a gentleman." He didn't think he was a gentleman, not the way he was with society. "Nonetheless, I don't mind walking with you to your dorm."

Oh, Victor really was adorable! Well, in a small animal of prey way, like small bunnies or pygmy hedgehogs. Alouette would keep that thought to herself though, she didn't want him to take it like a slight to his pride. "Oh, no need to be modest." She hummed with a well-meaning wave of her hand, hefting her trunk behind her with her other hand. "But I appreciate the company!"

She studied the paper that had her room assignment one last time before heading to the door, waiting until Victor was following her to continue onward. All the while, she was practically glowing inside- barely half a hour at the Academy and she'd already made a friend! Definitely a great start, she couldn't wait to tell her parents all about it.
